  1. If you leave your car at any services then you will need a bank loan to pay the fee when you return.
  2. I am not sure that parking is the issue, since on all CPS served terminals the cars are taken away from the terminal to other larger car parks but still within the port confines, then they are returned to the terminal car parks in time for the ships return. The main reason IMO is terminal availability, P&O get weekend priority because their passengers are mainly Brits, and weekend departures are the preferred choice. Similarly Sky generally has a majority of Brits, so again gets weekend priority. You were correct that Regal will have less Brits and for N American passengers a midweek departure is no hardship. Furthermore since P&O paid for the upgrades at Ocean to handle the Excel class ships, they get priority, and Iona on 7 day fjords cruises, is there every Saturday, and Arvia on 14 day Med cruises every other Sunday. Which leaves few available weekend departures for Princess.
  3. It does if it is under the price threshold.
  4. You surely don't believe what you read on booking.com!!!!
  5. There should be a curtailment off holiday clause, plus possibly something about being offloaded.
  6. Most car parking companies have been operating for some time, and will have developed a procedure to ensure they can maximise the number of cars but still ensure they can easily access them when needed.
  7. If you check out the CPS parking near to Mayflower on Google maps, you will see that they are also tightly packed. At least that makes stealing them extremely difficult.
  8. They have recently moved according to one of their staff in july, and the new car park is no longer subject to as much seagull fouling as the old one.
  9. Unless the crew are having a periodic refresher trial, you only now need to visit your muster station as you board and get your boarding pass stamped, then you are supposed to watch the safety video on your room TV and listen to the Captains safety address. Sorry dont know where C muster is, but any of the crew will direct you to the correct location.
  10. I must admit I am quite amazed that I managed to set up my wi fi printer, and even more astonished when it worked.fist time. They must have made them idiot proof.
  11. I found the "relaxer chairs" on Iona very comfortable, and for the crinklies, like me, they were far easier to get on and off than a sunbed.
  12. But I don't see any photos of Seabourn, Silversea, Crystal or Regent seven seas on here, which are the true luxury brands. Also we have seem from comments in this thread that Saga don't offer much more space than P&O, so maybe Oceana, Viking, and Azamara are not much better either.
  13. The last time we were on Britannia I think it had installed Cabanas in parts of the serenity pool, perhaps it is these that the little extra applies to?
  14. But if we roll back a little more than 5 years ago, then the vast majority of cruise passengers were dining on sharing tables. Certainly when we first started cruising at the turn of the century tables for two were like hens teeth, and very difficult to reserve in fixed dining, and required taking a pager and wait quite a while in freedom dining, when that came along. I realise that C****d has changed the situation and many more couples now want a table for 2, and for some with weaker immune systems, it is even more essential. Personally I quite enjoy a shared table in Freedom dining, and enjoying the company of lots of diverse characters, especially when on a cruise line with a cosmopolitan passenger mix. But I also accept that most main stream cruise lines need to squeeze as many tables into each MDR as possible, and if I want to cruise with them I have to accept these limitations, or pay a much higher price if I want something more spacious.
  15. Princess shows available accessible cabins on line, when you tick you need an accessible cabin at the beginning of the booking process it will only then show you available cabins in each grade.as you proceed.
  16. We are operating on a similar basis, we no longer intend to book on brochure launch. So far we have managed to book 2 Princess cruises with available accessible cabins and at sale prices with 50% off the Plus package, more expensive than P&O but change does keep our interest up in cruising.
  17. These are the staff the train companies want to take up full time passenger service roles, whilst the unions are striking to preserve their current jobs, which ensure the doors are closed safely!!!
  18. Thanks Kalos I will bear that in mind, however my problem is now resolved, I took the usually recomended action when these sort of incidents happen, I switched my phone off and did a restart, and surprise, surprise everything is now fully working. 🙄
  19. I wonder what your views about the lost port of call would have been, with lots of passengers complaining that they had missed the only port they really wanted to see, especially if the forecast bad weather had not been as severe in Palma?
  20. If you feel that Arvia does not have enough activities for your children, then, I would recommend you consider Royal Caribbean, however their pricing is generally much higher than P&O. Then there is MSC, their pricing is more in line with P&O and although they ar multi lingual, their ships sailing from Southampton do apparently mainly use Endlish. As regards the toilets, I have always assumed that the design is intended to make you close the lid because the vacuum flush works more efficiently that way.
  21. I think that situation probably did affect the arrangements that were being made to disembark enough passengers to enable Britannia to leave Palma when she did. But that is not to say that P&O were wrong to make the decisions they did, however the team sent out to oversee the arrangement possibly did not cover themselves in glory with the choice of some of the hotels, if we are to believe the BBC article.
  22. No idea, but MySky app is also not working for me. But I obviously do have a working broadband so hopefully no problems with my recordings or any streaming I might want to do this evening.
  23. Still out here, a bit concerned that nobody else is having any problems,
