  1. Thing is...we never seemed to count!(And trust me...a drink in hand most of the day!)
  2. I have to backpedal...we had an OV originally. I still feel it was a solid price for a 12 day upgrade.😉
  3. This is ONLY alcoholic drinks with the limit. Princess too. Let me say in our numerous Princess cruises & 1 Carnival cruise...we only both hit 15 ONE day (and our friends "bought" us a drink at that point). Trust me--DH starts before lunch & drinks all day on a port day. As I said, only once did we get there...
  4. As per my post above: We were told we would hate Carnival after having tried most other mainstream lines. We did 14 days to Hawaii & LOVED it. Our bartenders said longer Carnival cruises are the key.
  5. Had a COUNTER offer for our upcoming cruise...had never seen that! We had an interior booked & made offers on OVs to balconies, no more than $260pp bid. ($500ish more for a balcony is our general point) Email came offering Mini suite window (no balcony) for $350pp. Well, it is a 12 day N. Europe cruise, and we realized that the balcony might not get much use; plus our $500 threshold is on 7 day cruises so we thought why not. So we took it & got it 2 wks before embarkation.
  6. We just got an email about our Oct. 18 Island cruise--he will be on the Island.
  7. We are similarly aged (me 57, DH 60); began cruising 20 years ago & loved it (Vegas was our 1st love, so makes sense). Tried Celebrity 10 yrs ago & felt it was a small step up from others in service & food. WORD OF WARNING--ECLASS IS THE BOMB!! Truly, I'm obsessed with Eclass. They are step up from Celebrity (and all other mainstream lines that I have sailed) overall!! Shoot if I had known you are beach people I have great suggestions for Curacao & Bonaire. Our nephew lived in Bonaire & recommended Sorobon beach & it did NOT disappoint. Did a Celebrity excursion--tour around the island (which was great) & a stop a Sorobon for several hours. HIGHLY recommend. (Curacao was 10 yrs ago...IDK the name, just that it was miles long & fabulous) ABC islands are my fav in the Caribbean. (tho doing Barbados, Dominica & Antigua for 1st time in Dec...we shall see how we feel then!) But I get it--we have friends who are All-inclusive addicts. They cruised...liked it but not as much as AI. We have thought about AI...but think we would be bored. I KNOW DH could not spend days on end at the beach...I am limited to no more than a couple on the Caribbean! (we do have a couple favs in Costa Maya & Cozumel, and now Bonaire, it seems!)
  8. Nope, not a Beyond thing...nature of traveling w/ a large group of people in a confined space. Sailed Edge 6 weeks after start up 2 years ago...I did B2B; we had to be tested last day & some people were escorted from the pool by crew in hazmat suits...uh, knew what that meant! 8 tested positive on that cruise. Sailed last July...I managed to get it after it, tho virtually symptom free. I ALWAYS test upon returning as I have an elderly father I see frequently. Yep, positive. Was cleaning garage the next day!🤭 Sailed in August this year to Europe...got it again. (tho DD did not--go figure). Was it the cruise or the 11 hour flight? Hard to say. Strangely, in my 20 cruises in the last 2 years, I have NOT noticed any significant coughing. @OysterD Thanks for your wonderful TR. We sailed the Beyond in April & frankly Eclass are my favorite ships on ANY line (ok, Celebrity is my fav line overall...but the older ships more closely compare to other lines overall). Loving your photos & experiences. DD & I did Italy & Greece in August & I forgot how much I love Europe (after a 40 year hiatus...) Now I want to see all the ports you have seen! (we did the same last 3 as you)
  9. Well...you get unlimited specialty dining, so.... (we did SS on Beyond in April...honestly, we did not find Luminae any better than MDRs on Apex & Edge. All very good tho)
  10. YES. I did Eden on Edge & Apex & loved it, tho very different experiences. I have not done Eden on Beyond yet (will in Dec)...I would probably choose them over Le Voyage with what I know now as I love the inventiveness of the menu. We did Chef's Table in Le Voyage the day before our Le Voyage meal...I DO recommend Le Voyage meal before Chef's Table...we were spoiled after that!
  11. LOL you are going to get A LOT of different opinions here!! 30+ cruises under our belts in 20 years. 5 on NCL (all in last 5 years) & one Carnival in January (14 days to Hawaii on Miracle) Many said we would hate Carnival after sailing Celebrity, Princess, RCCL, NCL & DCL. THEY WERE WRONG! We LOVED it! Food, activities, bands, comedians--we found it all very very good. The only thing we DON'T like is the cost of the drink package...that with internet & tips, totals run more than the others w/ AI (or semi-AI) packages. A casino offer is what got us to take it. NCL shows & game shows are better than Carnival. We find food, activities & bands fairly comparable. We find Carnival comedians the best of any sailing we have done (no idea if that was situational!) NOW, we have ONLY sailed NCL large ships & obviously not Carnival big ships. (our bartenders said to stick w/ longer Carnival cruises & we will love them) Honestly--we find ALL these lines more alike than different. Some do things better than others; some ships have things we really like that we wish others had. We have had "meh" cruises on most lines--a good time, but MOST our cruises have been GREAT. (MSC was double "meh"--no inclination to go back)
  12. I always just screen shot the bar code on the gift card when it is sent to me. Will this not work now?
  13. Sailing in Nov. & Jan. Nov booking I received an Amenities email that shows the OBC, but it does NOT appear on the Summary page of our reservation in My Account. Jan booking I did not receive an Amenities emails BUT it DOES show up on the Summary page of our reservation. I plan to print the Amenities email for the Nov booking & the Summary for the Jan booking to have as proof. Has anyone encountered any issues with something like this? Thanks!
  14. I do remember when first sailing Princess the oddity of having to take stairs or 1 specific elevator to one particular dining room...seems that is NOT a thing on this ship. And one elevator only goes to only floors 5-8? I like to think they like to keep us on our toes!
  15. I've looked at the deck plans & watched some ship tour videos...doesn't seem all that different than other Princess ships. I know we will miss IC...great place to grab a bite after late dancing or gambling. But since we know, we can grab some snacks in London to bring or grab something in buffet to keep in room. It was the itinerary that attracted our friends...and we always like to sail with them.
  16. 5x points up to 50K points, so 10% off. It was on my Platinum but not my Blue Card.
  17. We did Chef's Table in January on the Miracle. $90pp, booked online. There is a limit but it was a fairly large group (20 maybe?); but I would book as soon as you can. It was a set day on our 14 day cruise, we did not get to pick. It was FABULOUS (no wine pairings; just a red & pinot grigio--luckily I was fine with that) It was 26 different bites of food--and some were SERVINGS, not bites. I recommend eating 1/2 of what is served. TRULY. And skip the bread--it is YUMMY & you won't be able to eat just a bite or 2. But filling. 1/3 of the way thru I was looking at DH with a face--he knew I was already full!! PACE PACE PACE (and DH is NOT a foodie. He enjoyed all of it but a mushroom taste--he's no fan)
  18. We love the International Cafe for a late evening snack on other ships—but no IC on Island! Is there anywhere to grab a snack at midnight? (no interest in waiting for room service—looking to grab & go)
  19. Have these people cruised before? Cruised the Caribbean Princess last summer...didn't find her old at all. If your food is cold--send it back! Let the maitre de know. Sit somewhere else--it is VERY likely a server issue. If this happened 2 nights in a row, I would make a change, not accept it as so. Cruises can be crowded in places on a full ship--NOTHING new here... Being nickel & dimed to death--I continue to hear this but I don't notice it! We have sailed nearly every mainstream line. We got AI or buy drink & internet packages. We might buy some shore excursions ahead of time. These are expenses we factor in. But we buy virtually nothing else onboard & have felt little to no pressure to spend any more $ on the ship. I have caught COVID on 2 cruises--last year (would have never known as I had virtually no symptoms; but I ALWAYS test when I get home as I have an elderly father) & last month. It's the nature of the beast these days. I've sailed 19 times since start up July 2021. Have NEVER noticed an abundance of coughing (surprisingly, imo) Catching COVID has NOTHING to do with what line you sail. You are in close quarters w/ a lot of people. I'm running at about 10% of the time with my numbers.
  20. Yes, I'm not a fan of how the daily activities scroll both up & down & side to side...too easy to miss things. I can see how it SEEMED like a good idea, but it sure isn't user friendly.
  21. Thank you both. When I looked at this, it appeared I could only make DMW ressies...so I assumed just MDR.
  22. We sail 2 weeks from Weds. I have looked on our online account, on the app--what am I missing???
