  1. That would dynamic pricing. Most companies do it. Supply and demand. More want it, price increase. It will be interesting to see what price they price your cabin in the transfer
  2. I hope you are right but I also know I received both an email from my TA and VV regarding new sailings. If I was a new booker, and saw someo d the prices, I would have have booked today. The prices were all over the place. Some ridiculous low and others much higher. So maybe it's a combination of new bookings and cancellations rebooking. It's the not know and having to wait. We thought too there should have been a second and third choice on the form. But I stand by people who had the cancellation should have got first dibs especially since we have known since Thursday and the release was Monday. Bit like a pre sale to a concert
  3. My partner was watching the website all day and seeing cabins getting booked up for the cruises we fancied but especially the one we have put on our form. She did say VV should have given first dibs to those who had cancelled cruises a chance to book first before it was released to general booking. Now we are in this waiting game to see if we have been successful
  4. That's the one we submit our form for. Not heard anything back yet. My partner had been watching all day and as the day passed, the number of RS cabin decreased till there were none. Not hopefully at all
  5. New itineraries are now live on the VV website. Though there are still wee glitches. Very expensive cabins till you actually go into the cruise and search the actual cabin you want. Then prices are normal
  6. I know many of you are in the same boat as me which is definitely not on Brilliant lady. But had their cruise cancelled and are looking to rebook. Since we were traveling with another couple, we spent Friday chatting what cruise and date suits everyone so we can hopefully travel again. Both paid RS cabins. Our TA has hopefully submitted our form for one of the new itineraries whilst our friends submitted their own so now like many we are now waiting for when they go through them It will be nice to see who has been successful in getting their choice And a big thank you to those who had valuable information regarding all this.
  7. We had a haven forward facing cabin for two, in Getaway for 7 nights for £3600 in total including grats. This was sailing last year in March. There are bargains but you really need to search them out
  8. When we sail we RC in May, a couple tested themselves and found out the wife had COVID. So went to the ship's doctor. They give you the test and if you have COVID you don't need to pay. But if you don't, then it $199. The wife isolated whilst he wore a mask whenever he was outside the cabin. Once off the ship, they were left to their own devices
  9. Hope you mean so you can dine anytime in the Haven as the Haven menu never changes
  10. Thanks for your review. On Joy's Haven in November. Looking forward to it after being in the Haven 5 times already on Epic, breakaway and getaway. We are pretty lucky to sail the way we do. Finding the right price. Yes Joy is going into dry dock after our cruise early next year. Small changes like some of the observation lounge being turn into cabins. A spa I think is also being added. Footloose won't be on our cruise but it seems there are plenty to do anyway. Good to hear food is of standard. I'm not a fussy foodie and food is relatively but each to their own.
  11. So a weird thing happened to us. My OH did status match for both of us so we can get the extras for our first virgin cruise in 2024 Her email from virgin was she wasn't entitled to the DBE since our cruise wasn't till next year But my confirmation email give me all the DBEs even though I'm not cruising this year Is that right?
  12. When we cruise with NCL for the first time, almost 10 years ago, I didn't know about the Haven. But after some research I thought it sounded neat but way out of our price range. However luck was within on our side and the price tumble down to basically what we pay for our balcony and all the extras if you had to pay separately. So I booked a lovely Haven spa suite. This got us hooked However we always try never to go over go over £300pppn. Give or take. That's our gauge. One other factor we also consider is that not all havens are equal. So bear that in mind too
  13. Booked on our first virgin cruise and I had a friend who might be interested in joining us. However when we looked at the actual cruise, the website said it is sold out. Even though it's well over a year before we sail Any reason why?
  14. Surprisingly if you sailed with RC you could bring your partner as they can get the same tier benefits even if their points say differently From crown and anchor A Crown & Anchor Society member can be added into a relationship with other family members in the same household and receive equivalent tier status; however Cruise Points will remain according to actual cruises taken and calculated according to the number of nights sailed. Pinnacle Club member tier status will not be awarded to dependents if earned by their parent and/or guardian. Pinnacle Club member tier status can only be earned by an individual, spouse or significant other by one of them accumulating 700 Cruise Points or more in the Crown & Anchor program.
  15. Haven't been in the Haven since last year as we cruise with RC this year but one thing people loved in the haven restaurant was the surf and turf. Same as Cagney but with no surcharge. So it's not uncommon people ordering just lobster tails, yes more than one at dinner. Knock yourself out if you like them.
  16. I don't think anyone plans to stay in their cabin to catch a film but it's an option. And like I said previously sometimes it's nice just to chill in your cabin having a movie night especially if you have a family and the butler can provide snacks
  17. Sorry my copy and paste is awful. Yeah for all ships. It's listed as a benefit in NCL website as a benefit. One of the wee unknown under everyone's noses. And I do mean the on demand. The ones you pay at $9.95. No adult films though 😂.
  18. 1. You have use of the Posh club too on the Epic. Adult only so if your daughter was attending one of the lub, feel free to pop your head up there 2. Movies are free for Haven guests so if you fancy a movie night in your cabin, ask your butler if they can provide some snacks that evening and it will be done. 3. Room service is free for Haven guests so if you are tired as a family you can always dine in your cabin. Just let your butler know. Also anything can be bought to your cabin except sushi. If it's complimentary then it's will be the same. If it's a dish from a speciality restaurant then you will be charge it. 4. If you have any reservations for the concierge then make a note. The concierge is pretty busy in the first couple of days with everyone's wants so if you can be organised then it will help them too. 5. There's a pillow menu with different types of pillows. 6. I often find the room steward works just as hard as the butler if not harder especially if you are low maintenance. Just remember that. 7. Lastly for now, you might be inclined to stay in the Haven as it is a lovely Haven but the Epic is a wonderful ship so take time to explore and use some of the other facilities.
  19. But for us, it was ideal since we are from Scotland. Long flight there and then a wee short flight after. So don't assume everyone is from North America Yes, the eastbound you lose a hour most days but we never really noticed it. Westbound you will gain a hour most days One of the things we noticed was a lot of people booked an inside cabin and when it was time to bid for an upgrade, the majority got a balcony with just over the minimum bid. Anthem has a lot of balconies so some people already knew this hack.
  20. I haven't been on Prima but we did do this year's transatlantic on Anthem sailing from New Jersey to Southampton and loved it. We love the ship's layout and RC filled the day with a lot of activities so you are not bored if you want to do something. Or do nothing at all in the solarium.
  21. We thought the haven in the Epic is the nicest from the three we have been on. The other two were Breakaway and Getaway. If you book a haven spa cabin you will also have access to one of the largest spa areas on a ship too.
  22. In the UK if you buy a haven suite or bid on one and were successfully, all free at seas are included. It is why we get one instead of paying them separately. Everything is included
  23. Guess we been lucky with our butlers as we usually inform them on the first day what snacks we like in the afternoon and have been given them. No more and no less.
  24. Having never tried but I suspect if it's on a menu, it will more doable than not. The worst that can happen is no they can't accommodate. Whatever happens, do remember to tip well
  25. In the UK it does include gratuities. So apologies if it doesn't elsewhere. It was one of the positive I like about MSC. That it was included in the price so none of the fuss about how much we paid extra for DSC
