  1. We did the one way from Hawaii twice. The 5 days were great. You didn't feel like you were missing anything if you stayed up late and slept in a little. We just did a transatlantic on the sunshine, 6 sea days, grand Turk, 5 more sea days to New Orleans. Spent days in pool, lounging it was so relaxing since before the transatlantic we did a Mediterranean cruise that was port intensive. You will love it.

  2. Well, if kids try this at other places then it's a parents responsibility and supervision. This commercial is a target for parents, the person that spends the $$$. I'm glad to hear so many kids are glued to some exceptional tv for a change instead on their computers, game boxes. Why such a big deal. It's a salute to the Olympics. But, maybe the kids shouldn't be watching the Olympics- they might think they can fly off a mountain .

  3. I agree that I really love this commercial. That's it a commercial. Do lego blocks talk? There's a movie about that. I'm not insensitive to the kids, I had 3 and 6 grand kids. I've had this talk with them all, dolls as shown don't really work like that, hot wheels cars don't race like that. Well, they are all fine with explanations about what they're trying to sell. It's a feeling. The excitement about a cruise. Another big debate

  4. WCMC and on the sunshine they had a pecan pie. Not the traditional gooey pie something a little smaller. It was so good dh and I went up to the lido and picked up another piece to put in the cabin for a late night snack.

  5. We did a B2B on the Sunshine 28 days. Flew to venice and cruised thru the Mediterranean and the second cruise was the transatlantic back to the states. This was better for making the time change and after shore intensive ports the transatlantic was restful. I don't know how my next 8 day cruise will be enough. Same room for both.

  6. Should be Jaime. You won't be disappointed. She is a bundle of energy. We had her on the med/transatlantic cruise for 28 days. We wondered if she ever slept. She'd be at the shows, the music in the lobby, deck parties. She seemed to be everywhere. If you like a director that's involved that's her.

  7. We had always cruised in balcony cabins until we had a family reunion cruise on the paradise. We all booked oceanview, our cabin on deck two. We loved having the big window and found we could actually cruise in an oceanview. Our next cruise was a28 day Mediterranean -transatlantic cruise on the sunshine last October, again deck two oceanview. We loved it and vow to do it again. If we wanted to sit in a quiet space we just went up one deck to the outside and chilled there. I'm doing a solo in May, sisters have a cabin but I opted for my own, inside, I guess it'll work for just me but hubby says oceanview. We found we spent more time enjoying the public spaces more. Personal preference. You'll get a lot of differing opinions and it depends if you just want tons of quiet time. Whatever your choice, cruising in any cabin better then being home.

  8. We did a b2b ( med/transatlantic ) on the sunshine last November. 28 glorious days. After the first cruise they delivered the new cards to our stateroom with a sticker on it to show we could get off and return without the normal check in process. But, when I returned to the ship I zipped thru the waiting cruisers to get back on and when I checked in and they inserted my new card they asked if I stopped to get the new picture added to the card. I never thought about the new card not having it. Have fun, do a b2b.

  9. I always take my packing tape and believe it or not, a flattened box from the post office. The box that is " if it fits it ships". We took the med/transatlantic cruise and had so many souviners that when we got to our hotel in NOLA we packed the box full of things we didn't need and headed to the post office sent it home. We also did this on our Hawaii cruise. Last stop was Maui, sent things home. Cheaper than overweight luggage. Lastly, on the last cruise I took command strips with hooks. I love organization.

  10. Did transatlantic on sunshine and here is what I remember. Steak house $35.00, italian resturant dinner charge $ 12.00 ( during lunch it's free but different menu), JiJi's Asian resturant $???, bonsai sushi charge$?. Other places like blue iguana, guys burger... No charge. Enjoy.

  11. Did 28 days on the Sunshine ( med/transatlantic ) definitely used laundry service. I used packing tape to tape around the bag to keep from splitting. Always sent undies, socks, jeans , shorts.... Always came back nice and folded. Had to press dress shirt myself but I would've expected to. Nice perk.

  12. Do Australia, Fiji, bora bora. Most of all to get a price break on my next cruise in May. I'm going solo in my room paying top$$. My sisters are sharing a room from a free cruise my sis got while on her last one. I just couldn't imagine 3 girls in that room so my hubby sprung fro my own room. I could only hope before my final payment. Fingers crossed.

  13. I've been following your efforts to make this family trip. I was always hoping for a great result. I think when your family returns just have them read this post. I've never seen anyone try so hard to make something happen. Sorry it didn't work out, but stuff happens. Anyone who can't understand probably never locked themselves out of a car or house, lost a wallet... Or on your grand scale, it just happened. I'm sure you'll be getting a great souvenir on their return.

  14. I second this. I had a 1A upper/lower last week on Sunshine and when sitting on the throne, one foot is in the shower. LOL! And there was also a king sized bed in this 1A cabin. Never seen that before either. 1606 on deck 1. No card slot for the lights and no refrigerator.

We had 2170 on the transatlantic and it appeared to have at least gotten a facelift. The decor done in the new colors, gone was the orange. I agree with the bathroom set up and having a foot in the shower. This cabin seemed to be a little roomier than others we visited. We loved it.
