  1. The most important thing about making a cruise director part of the decision making is simply trying to avoid the bad ones, or the ones that are so taken up with themselves.

We spent 28 days with Jaime. She is a bundle of energy. We remarked, "when does she sleep " we liked her as we felt she would relate well to all ages. There were mostly seniors on the med/transatlantic cruise and she was great. Can't say anything about the others.

  2. We are looking at either the 8 night Sunshine Aug 23, 2014 or the Liberty on Aug 22, 2014 but prefer the ports on the sunshine (Aruba, Curacao and Grand Turk)

Has anybody been on the Sunshine since its had the 2.0 added ? opinions ?

Any suggestions on best ocean view cabins, if so what cabin numbers that are quiet but close to elevators ?

    Thanks,

    Craig & Tina

We did the med and transatlantic , 28 days. Cabin 2170. Right around the corner from the glass and reg elevators. Never heard a thing. Never felt any movement. Nice and quiet

  3. They pulled back to their core when times were tough. My guess is as things continue to stabilize we will see port expansion again at least in the Caribbean.

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app from my IPhone

I agree about tiring of the carribean ports. We just did the europe and transatlantic cruise on the sunshine. Now as I try to decide on another cruise I can't seem to find a cruise now that can live up to that.

  4. The guy's burger joint on the Sunshine was good. We did a 28 day europe/transatlantic and tried to keep ourselves in check. The different burgers and the toppings bar were just what we wanted on a day by the pool. This however is our opinion. We liked them.

  5. We turned platinum on the first part of our Europe/ transatlantic cruise on the sunshine. Right about going to your room and leaving items. Loved the laundry too. Knowing that I never have to do another load, and can pack lighter is fantastic. There is no such thing as priority boarding in venice, but I'm sure it works better here in the states.

  6. We did the steak house on the sunshine a couple of weeks ago. It was great. Such a beautiful presentation of food. It was nice and quiet for conversation. The food was excellent. If you made your reservation before boarding you will receive a reminder letter asking if you don't want to keep your time to advise them to cancel. Enjoy

  7. We spent 28 days on the sunshine - venice to New Orleans. It was fantastic. The staff was cordial. The food good and Guys burgers hard to stay away from if you're a burger lover. The play areas are kids and big kids paradise. I loved the ship. The serenity, as big as it is still hard to get a lounger, but I can say that the crew did tag loungers for the 40 minute rule. It was a smooth ride all the way. I miss my cabin and all who took such good care of us.

  8. We decorated our door on the paradise last Feb. we cruised with 35 family members, 13 cabins. We had a dry erase board and a family reunion sign. Each day several nieces and nephews would walk the halls early and leave little notes. We were on different levels so with the reunion sign the kids knew they were leaving messages on the right door. Dry erase boards are popular for leaving notes " I'm sleeping, don't bother"

  9. We just took a cruise with 31 family members last week on the Paradise. 13 of those were kids. Most 14 and under. The younger ones were 2/ 4 yr olds and 1 / 2 1/2 yr old. The minute the younger kids walked into camp carnival they didn't want to leave. The youngest was our grandson and tho he goes to daycare my DIL was a little hesitant. After his first two hours there, and their two hours to enjoy the ship she was sure they had made the right choice. Grandson loved being with kids his age. The other kids of all ages did go to the groups for their age group and we had to pry them away for family pictures. The parents carried around schedules for the activities it was funny to see the kids spread out. They were on their merry way.

  10. We just got back from our family reunion cruise on the Paradise last week. I printed 8x10 picture posters for the doors, used magnets for the back. We also had the dry erase boards. We cruised with 31people, 11 cabins. They came in handy. People may also leave messages, will the person who won $300 at black jack please stand up. No one in our group. They were so happy about winning they shared the news with us. The board came in handy as we had kids who told us where they were going to be.

  11. Thanks for the time you are spending doing this review. And thanks for mentioning your son. I have a 15 yr old grandson that has Autism and he counts the days until his next cruise. I'm in the know about people that judge kids that appear to be unruly as kids that have no disipline. It's good for people to understand that a change in routine or something as small as a persons stare can set things in motion. It sounds like you had a wonderful time. And I can see the kids did too. We are doing the Legend in Europe next year. Love your photos. Thanks

  12. We decorate the door. Our rooms are usually visible from the elevators so when you get off you know which way to go. On our hawaii trip I took down the decorations on the night before we got off and heard people say, " Which way do we go". I know I get confused so it helps me not to get turned around.
