  1. Please add us to the Koningsdam- 17-Feb-24- 35 day Hawaii, Tahiti & Marquesas trip. This is an early 40th anniversary trip for us. Where did 40 years go???? Thanks, kazu!
  2. I am the same! I always plan to get all the pics, but there are so many things to photograph, and so little time. And it doesn't matter if you are on a 7, 10, 20 or 28 day cruise!
  3. I tried to pre-pay my crew appreciation for a cruise in February (final due later this month) today because the exchange rate is in my favour, and the website wouldn't accept my credit card. I called to have it added personally, and the customer service rep couldn't get it to go through either. I checked with my bank and they said there was no flag on the account (not surprised since I have overpaid my balance at the moment), and there was no indication that I had attempted to pay HAL - several times- on their end.
  4. Well, crap! That puts me back in the line of fire. Back to worrying and coming up with plans B, C, D, E, and F
  5. rofl I was waiting for a story about Rome traffic, crossing pedestrians, and a guide that didn't, but one of the following posts you wrote nighttime, so I figured it was an autocorrect. 😉
  6. Just in time for the start of the party! Here's hoping that your travel day was smooth!
  7. I had to google it to know what it was about, because I never watched it either. It was a big deal when we were in Dubrovnick for many of the passengers, though.
  8. That IS crazy. WJ really doesn't want to deal with Eastern Canada, does it?
  9. Why would you have to go to Montreal over Ottawa? Is there a note somewhere where one has to go? We're in SW Ontario, and I have assumed that, when the time comes, it would be to Ottawa.
  10. Hoping everyone had a wonderful weekend and have full tummies and oodles of leftovers!
  11. Everything changed for Canada on October 1st. The ONLY way to get a visa for Egypt is to apply and get it from the Egyptian embassy or consulate in Canada.
  12. There was an updated post on FB yesterday with the most current application form. Also, earlier last week there was notice that you have to have an appointment to go to the embassy in Ottawa now. I've been following closely because I have a daughter who lives in Cairo, and it is not an easy task now to get a visa to go and visit. Also, significantly more expensive.
  13. These cards are available before you get on the ship. On the laptop, I can click on "Purchase Beverages" and then the cards come up on the left side as "Beverage Cards (4)" I hope this helps.
  14. Here are the beverage cards that are available. One is for any non-alcoholic drinks, and one for any drink. We've used both the regular and the non-alcoholic cards in the past. Yes, when we had some money left on one (I'd prebought 3 and only used 2½) we were refunded the money that wasn't used. Basically it is like a gift card.
  15. Thank you for your cruise report. You brought back some great memories from a month ago when we were on the ship. Safe travels home!
  16. If we don't get the Have It All, we get the beverage card. It is strictly for convenience and not having a fistful of receipts. Any monies left on the card will be refunded at the end of the cruise. Typically, they want you off by 9:00-9:30 at the end of the cruise. Crew is anxious to get the rooms ready for the next guests who are, like you were, very eager to get on. 🙂
  17. I did not. We ended up going in earlier than we were supposed to, but were prepared to wait had they refused us.
  18. I leave any towels that I want removed/replaced in the shower or tub, depending on the cabin. Never had an issue. Hanging towels are to be reused.
  19. No, I don't think so. We were inside cabin deck 2, 3 weeks ago on the Zaandam. We also chose twice a day service, adding that night could be just a quick tidy up of towels and ice. We had chocolates regularly and towel animals more often than not. DSis1 chose once a day service and had the same towels/chocolates (same stewards). DSis2 chose the same DSis1, and had the chocolates and animals on dressy nights -different stewards. Her stewards were extremely helpful when she fell down and was bedridden for a day.
  20. Thanks. I'll follow along to relive Zaandam's last Boston to Montreal cruise that ended 2 weeks ago.
