Crazy planning mom

We are in Europe now changing planes in Rome. We wore a mask and are still wearing a mask However, there was a mother and daughter sitting a few feet away from us. Neither wore a mask and the girl coughed almost the entire time. She is obviously quite ill. She didn't even bother to cover her mouth let alone wear a mask. I pray we didnt catch anything from her.

Well, Alaska is great. We did a 7 night spring break cruise on the Harmony and didn't have a problem.

Yeah, we will be sailing late February early March timeframe.

Just curious, did you wear a mask at the airport? The reason I am asking is I have a long overnight flight coming up this week to catch my next cruise.

So, you think Carnival would go out completely? You don't think they would continue sailing their newest most profitable ships?

I have a cruise scheduled later this month. 3 days after I return, I am seeing my 85 year old Aunt. I plan to test before I see her. I would skip seeing her altogether except she will be in my area for 1 night only before a repositioning cruise.

A family member caught covid twice in 2021. She went on her first cruise this year and caught the cruising bug. She went two more times this year and didn't catch covid on any of them.

Good point. Maybe, because on warm weather cruises, more time is spent on the outer decks?

BluSea, we werent impressed with Anchorage. The Anchorage Museum was great but the scenery doesnt get pretty until you leave the city line. Just our opinion. We much prefer Seward. The area around Seward is much more beautiful. We loved our Kenai Fjords boat cruise, the Sealife aquarium, Exit Glacier.

We are sailing with my cousin on the Apex in 2024. We've only sailed Celebrity once before many years ago. She has only sailed Royal but picked Apex for the itinerary. She didnt now about the iv balconies in Edge class So, after discussing, she got the sunset veranda and we got the porthole veranda. After sailing on other lines, I think we will be fine with the noise level but will skip the steakhouse. Why has Eden Cafe been closed? Staffing issues?

You are correct. I meant to say Radiance begins or ends in Seward. Fixed it now.

If its more about the ports, then do Radiance. Radiance begins ot ends in Seward. Our cruise on the Radiance in 2021 was cancelled due to the pandemic. We flew to Anchorage and explored Alaska independently. We loved Alaska and Seward is a great town with lots of attractions including a wonderful aquarium. If you think your kids would be bored on Radiance, take the Ovation with them and then go back in a few years on Radiance when you are empty nesters.

I am sorry about your situation. Did you call NCL's air department? That is a different department rather than the regular NCL customer service? Maybe, they can assist? If not, do you have the Delta app? You may be able to change the flight using the app or Delta's website.

Why does NCL still offer sailings in October when most others have left? Is it really profitable for them?

Yes, I dont believe Miami or Fort Lauderdale ever closed. Port Canaveral reopened today.

Hi Turk. Prices vary depending on ship. You pay a premium for the Prima and Viva. When I priced out my upcoming cruise, Princess was more. NCL is sometimes more than expensive than RCL but when you figure the free at sea perks, it's not always more. The club balcony suite is a little bigger than a regular balcony.

Lots of people enjoy these activities. The OP was asking why people pick NCL. This wasn't an NCL v. Celebrity thread.

I don't agree that the excursion prices are always higher. I sail RCL and sometimes they are cheaper on NCL plus the free at sea includes excursion credit.

Not everyone thinks deck space for kids is a waste. Lots of people like taking their kids/grandkids/nephews on cruises . Not to mention there are plenty of adults who like the thrill activities. My husband would love the go karts. When we sailed the Harmony, my husband tried the flowrider and the ultimate abyss slide.

I like Norwegian's thermal spa, freestyle dining, and Norwegian's itineraries. They have some unique ones. For example, we sailed on the Pride of America which is the only ship that sails year round around the Hawaiian islands from Honolulu. I understand the Norwegian Spirit also sails to Tahiti from Hawaii . All the other major cruise lines sail from Los Angeles and Vancouver just a few times a year.

We are scheduled to go on a cruise in a couple weeks that stops in Greece, Turkey, and Israel. In Israel, we are taking a tour to the Masada/Dead Sea and then a Jerusalem tour the next day. How should I dress as a woman? Pants? A dress? Should the dress be long? Do i need to cover my head? Thank you.
