  1. We changed suites in November on a b2b. It was super easy. We packed up loose things left all the items that were on hangers. The host moved everything when our new suite was ready. Only thing they need you to move is your safe contents. They had prioritised cleaning the room we were going to so we were all moved by 0930. I suppose if we’d been happy carrying the safe contents ashore we could have gone out sooner Coming back on ship you have a transit card so skip the new arrivals process and can come and go like any port day
  2. You are not going outside the city just to the main terminal about a mile away
  3. It means the ships are restricted but some get. The position for individual ships is usually not know until weeks before. It makes no difference for disembarking as drivers will also check if you’re arranging private transfers
  4. We never got one for Jordan or Egypt and I don’t recall paying however I do recall they kept our passports for about a week after we left Dubai coming through the canal
  5. Had that in Argentina. Never bothers me, far rather the ship was looking after my passport than me. Much safer!
  6. Beautiful photos thanks. Islands like that I just love to wander in.
  7. No too tight Disembark will start at very best at 0730. You need to be at the airport by 830 at the latest. You need to allow 75 minutes minimum taxi time. So I do not think it’s realistic
  8. Guadeloupe we were there a few weeks ago and did a wonderful Death in Paradise tour - even saw "Neville". Last night we sat and watched the Christmas show, it was amazing to see now how much is filmed there with nothing changed and not on sets. We absolutely loved that Azamazing Evening in St Maarten last year- it was so much fun. One of the better ones, nothing to complain about there for us, but we are not picky Enjoy today
  9. Poor Tatiana will be so tired. I remember a few years ago on a long voyage Elisabeth had no F and B. There are so many responsibilities that the two roles have doing it with one person is only a very short term solution regardless of who determines the menus. It’s another pair of management hands. I like that consistency of head office control of menus at “special meals time”. I also now favour more strict control of individual recipes. Two other lines I’ve travelled on recently had head office controlled menus and recipes and it really worked Having been on two different ships it was great I can order X on the second voyage knowing it would look and taste virtually the same as the first time. Avoids chefs going “rogue” particularly with spices and makes controlled use of allergens. That didn’t happen on Azamara with a very close shave for us!
  10. I’m very sure he is and hopefully he has the counterbalance of many guests like you.
  11. I learned they were available and that ship staff were not keen on them as they did not count towards their targets.
  12. If you mean you pay a deposit and that secures you your loyalty discount booking off ship I’d say they are worth it. We’ve done some great better priced bookings if the pricing onboard wasn’t right. Most often we get them when like you we can’t commit to dates which happens more and more these days
  13. Really. Christmas Day in particular you should not ruin someone’s day far less broadcast it. Actually on a ship I don’t think there’s any valid reason to ruin a crew member’s day any day. Take a chill pill, these people are far from their families and loved ones so it’s a tough day for them. Bringing the wrong breakfast is a trivial thing. In the words of Frozen - let it go let it go
  14. Final bill onboard is in euros. Charge to your card is in your local currency- that would account for the difference

    OBC Cuarrency?

Have you logged into your account to see what it shows? Knowing how flakey their systems are it might just be a bug there.

    OBC Cuarrency?

I have never heard that happen before. Maybe we are lucky our currency is not “dollars” but our offer obc is certainly in US dollars
  17. You are not entirely correct about New Zealand. Each cruise ship guest individually has to pass a barrier before entering the terminal in each port that has a dog handler and all their bags being taken off that day has to be put down so the dog can check. Bad news if the dog sits down. Whether it’s allowed in a country or not personally I’d be very unhappy if other guests start opening picnics on a small tour I was on. There are several Far East countries where taking food out/onto trips would be considered disrespectful. In the UK we typically roll our eyes at people removing items from breakfast buffets for later. It’s suggests someone is too mean to buy lunch.
  18. I think given the focus of these boards the majority of people would take the context as a reference to removing items from breakfast whilst cruising. You did not make it clear your wife’s actions were limited to land based holidays (well I hope they are, even then in some cultures that action would be viewed as disrespectful.

    OBC Cuarrency?

I think your agent needs to call again When I get $400 OBC from Azamara, this appears as a converted £ rate eg £320 on my account for excursions that are all priced in sterling when I log in. Say I use only half of the OBC as excursions, leaving £160 that is then converted onboard to $200
  20. It happened on our cruise spontaneously nothing hit it. But being safety skinned no glass fell out.
  21. How do travel agents in the UK view this? They already have set arrangements with the cruiseline on the (pretty late) due date for transferring payments over to them. Is Azamara offering this to anyone booked through a UK agent? I have two bookings where it might have applied but heard nothing
  22. I would agree with @Dr. Cocktail Scheduling is a basic switch. The Cruise Director/Entertainment Manager needs to direct/manage and not be decorative. That was probably the root cause of the problem. Changing the singers would make a massive difference as two average players can’t hold down the number/type of “shows” required. Maybe have four really competent people so they can still do some shows as twos but can work on a variety of offerings across the four. Add in some variety in the guest entertainers (the ones we had were very good but too similar) and you will have improved the offering a million times So the “different concept” isn’t the issue it’s the execution.
  23. Are they giving you a free cancellation option or is it at the loss of a deposit?
