  1. Our first Regent cruise was in 2017 and have enjoyed several since. And our next one is tomorrow!! We hope you love Regent as much as we do. We have always found crew members to be very helpful and willing to assist. The 2025 world cruise is or is nearly sold out. You can waitlist but some cabins have very long waitlists. If you waitlist a cabin and decide against it, there is a $1,000 admin fee. The 2026 itinerary has not been announced yet.
  2. I think this is fantastic! We are boarding the sold out Splendor tomorrow (yay!) for the southern Caribbean and will be happy to benefit from it.
  3. I think this seems fair. One could always grab a quick burger or a dog at the pool grill at lunch time. Very much in favor of this new policy. Also anxious to see how this plays out and happily, I will find out in less than a week 😻 will keep the board posted!
  4. Thank you! That’s what I thought I remembered but just wasn’t sure. Time to get creative!
  5. Admittedly, I should know this but I just can’t remember! Are there any light choices for dressing at the salad bar, other than oil and vinegar? I was supposed to lose the usual 10 lbs in preparation for next week’s cruise but I guess I forgot that too 🤣 and it’s better to splurge at dinner than lunch.
  6. You’ve been advised a couple times now that the only place you need reservations is TK Grill. That is not correct. There are certain special nights in the Collonade, such as the specialty fried chicken menu, that require reservations. Stop at the podium in the Collonade on your first day and ask which nights of your voyage fall into that category. Earlier, I suggested that you make your reservations for 4 so that you could be helpful toward another couple that you are bound to meet that didn’t know they needed a reservation. It’s a lovely way to pay it forward.
  7. We are doing a similar itinerary to yours in just about 10 days so your live from is all the better. We are doing what looks like the same shorex in Grenada so thank you for those great pictures. About Chartreuse, do you remember the wine that you had or which beef dish?
  8. Wow, that sounds like the best day ever!! So glad that you are having such a good time.
  9. I’m sorry that you are having such a difficult time and I hope that it works out for you. It doesn’t matter how you booked the cruise, it is a SB issue and only a SB issue no matter how the select may try to turn the blame onto you. If it’s not safe to book a SB cruise without a TA, SB should not provide the opportunity for bookings on board, on the phone, or online.
  10. Thingvellir National Park in Reykjavik is well worth a visit so if you can, go a day early or stay a day later to see it.
  11. We went to Iceland for the first time last summer and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Prepare yourself for magnificent scenery and wildlife with quaint small (very small) towns. We were not ready for just how cold it can be there in the summer so I’d recommend packing more warm clothes than you think you will need. Bring layers if you will be doing anything on the water.
  12. The buffet pictures look delicious!! That’s also a great shot of the infinity pool. Has the pool water been warm?
  13. Thank you for posting this helpful info. Just read it and have two questions, please, for those on board. I am a huge advocate of frequent hand washing and sanitizing so I have no objection, but how is this requirement enforced? How and when are the temperature checks and ongoing symptom screening done? Thanks in advance. Two weeks and two days …. but who’s counting 😁
  14. I’m excited to follow your trip report! We board just after you on February 8 so those of you on board are making our anticipation all the better. Bon voyage 🐬 wishing you a wonderful cruise!
  15. No, it’s not. It is to help another couple who didn’t know they needed a reservation by inviting them to join you.
  16. Wendy, we board in a couple weeks and I am wondering what you mean by “as insurance”?
  17. We have sailed once with SB on quest and multiple times with Regent. We did not have a good experience with SB although it does appear that our particular cruise suffered far more issues than most SB cruises. We do prefer Regent overall in concept and have only had good experiences. We have several more Regent cruises booked and a long back to back to back on Oceania’s new ship (another fave of ours). We are also going to give SB another try later this year but that’s because we have a large amount of fcc’s. Many cruisers are very loyal to their fave brand(s). And that’s all good but the real question is whether or not different experiences and different tastes bring something helpful to the table. I think they do. To me, it’s a trap to label those that disagree with you as someone who likes to complain or as a person with a bad attitude.
  18. Don’t wait or you will not get your choice of seating time or possibility any seating. Go to the podium in the Collonade on the first day of your cruise and ask when TK fried chicken night is and for any other special nights that will require reservations for the duration of your cruise. Make your reservations that first day. Another helpful hint is to make reservations for 4 people to give yourself some flexibility.
  19. No, this is not correct. When there are certain speciality nights in the Collonade (TK fried chicken night for example), you absolutely needs reservations although there is no mention anywhere of that. On our full ship from Dover to Montreal last summer, you needed to make your reservations early on to get a good time slot.
  20. You can request it in advance and they should bring it on for you. Our travel agent arranged that for us with a different product that was not ordinarily stocked.
  21. This was great, thank you!! I was very happy to see that you can wear eyeglasses. When we snorkel, I have a prescription mask so this is good to know.
  22. We are doing this type of excursion in Aruba in about a month. I’m one to be hesitant to try new things and I’m apprehensive just because it’s so different. My husband is always ready to try something new and is very excited! We are avid snorkelers with no scuba diving experience. Will report back. How soon is your excursion?
  23. Great ideas here!! And should have that rare universal agreement 😄
  24. Ugh, not a pretty game yesterday 😖
  25. Oh ok, still going to be lots of fun!
