  1. I would schedule an Uber ahead of time. Our flight was at 10:55 and we almost made it. But again, we took an off-the-clock Uber driver.
  2. Not being able o get an Uber was the main reason we missed our flight. We had a guy come up to us and ask us if we wanted a ride for $50. He was an Uber driver, just working off the clock. I was a little concerned about it, but not enough to say no.
  3. We were on this cruise as well! Was going to do a review myself, but I'll let you have at it! We, too, live in AZ. Missed our flight home since we booked too early. Rented a car and drove home. No big deal, but something for others to consider. The debarking and embarking on this cruise were both a bit of a mess.
  4. This thread makes me wonder how many posters have worked in the service industry. I'm guessing few, but feel free to flame away as I know you will.
  5. I only brought this up because another poster asked about tipping on a cruise ship versus a land vacation. This is common practice
  6. Land hotels don't even service rooms once a day anymore. Stay three days? No service. We still tip because someone had to set up our room and will have to set it up for the next group. Personally I don't need a steward to come by twice a day on a cruise, but I get people are used to that. We also don't eat in the MDR often on cruises as we prefer specialty dining. We tip both and a lot of places elsewhere. We just consider it part of our vacation cost.
  7. Actually, as a former server (albeit years ago), I had to "tip out" a percentage of my tips to the bussers and the host.
  8. So sorry to hear that! We once threw away a $100 Visa gift card that was a reward for signing up for something, can't remember. I called the company and they sent a new one. Felt very lucky about that.
  9. Thanks for posting! I am a vegetarian and looking forward to trying some of these in December (if the Panorama gets fixed in time).
  10. Sad to hear, but seems necessary since she's been having problems. Sorry for all those who have had their cruises cancelled. 😞
  11. It looks like most of your questions have been answered, but I'll chime in as well since we just cruised with our eight-year old this past May into June. She personally loved seeing the sled dogs, which we did in Skagway. Our tour was paired with gold panning (which she also enjoyed) and the White Pass train. (Train ride was kinda long and she got bored on the way back). In Juneau, we saw a ton of eagles just flying around. We rented a car and went to Mendenhall glacier (she was not impressed), the salmon hatchery (which she liked), and Shrine of St. Therese. We saw a baby bear running down the road on our way to the Shrine. We cruised on Carnival because we got an amazingly awesome casino offer. We had a really good time though I'd be open to cruising another line on a future trip.
  12. Thanks for posting! I had the vegan mushroom soup on Radiance last month and it was amazing. They didn't have the menus posted though, printed or in the app.
  13. Hope they get it figured out soon. We cruise on December 30.
  14. Sailing on the Panorama over New Year's. We're getting ready to book our specialty dining and are wondering if there is anything special in the MDR for New Year's Eve.
  15. We're going for New Years and plan to do the whale shark trip.
  16. Sorry you missed some of your ports. Glad you were able to take it in stride (thanks, drink package, lol). We were on the Radiance 10/9 - 10/14 and it was super rough coming back from Ensenada. LOTS of people were getting sick on the ship. Stupid hurricane!
  17. We were on this cruise as well. A lot of Arizona schools were on fall break as well. Lots of kids. Camp Carnival was packed and there were long lines, but no surprise there. My husband had the prime rib and said it was the best thing he had on the ship. We ate at La Cucina and the steakhouse. I have kids menus for those restaurants if anyone wants them since they are rarely ever posted. We only ate in the MDR once.
  18. We're just off the Radiance today and they had the MLB playoffs as well as Monday and Thursday night football. Heroes bar was PACKED on our ship, so I'd recommend getting there early if you can. Have fun!
  19. That is awesome! Happy early bday to your hubby! We've never been on a NYE cruise either and are greatly looking forward to it!
  20. We're sailing on Panorama 12/30 on a casino deal. Sadly, we couldn't get the balcony room, but we have an ocean view with drinks everywhere. Love the Panorama. Have a great time!
