  1. We've been RCI/X cruisers for many years. When the daughter stopped going with us we went strictly with X, but over time we became bored with them. We knew what to expect, what shows they'd have, the specialty restaurants became all too familiar, etc. Now we're back to RCI and also lately on NCL. Love all the different entertainment and things to do on these newer ships. You should really try a new product. Plus for me, the older I become I choose to be around people younger than myself these days

  2. This is the first I've heard about the AO staff coming to take your child from the dining room. Is this available with MTD as well? And on the Harmony? How does one go about arranging for this? Would love to be able to enjoy dinner without stressing over how long the service might take and leaving to take the 4 year old to AO

  3. We had this same cabin on Getaway, only that location is 11894. The angle balcony gives you more room and a nice view down the aft of the ship. You don't really need to worry about anyone's privacy as you'd have the option of looking aft or just enjoying your additional space. Remember not everyone is out on their balconies when you choose to be.

We sailed a second week and also did an upsale to the Haven and enjoyed it. Hope to be able to do so again in the future. Enjoy your cruise

  4. Last June, on the Escape they offered on a port day the use of the Thermal Spa for around $55 plus gratuity. I'd assume they had low numbers of spa passes that week and not to consider that common.

You might be better off just pre booking the pass for the entire week at a reduced cost if it's important to you then you'd have the option of going whenever you choose. It's a great space onboard the ship with limited access

  5. Thanks for your review. We sailed on the Escape last June and Tyler was the CD at that time. He really was good on the drums at Howl at the Moon too. We hope to see him again in March.

Very interesting comments regarding the Supper club performer. Why one performance should be worthy of a WOW card would be beyond me.

  6. I feel your frustration over the changing of your show reservations as we've had the same happen to us before. Didn't find out until we boarded the ship, so wasn't happy to reschedule all our dining, etc. Not the best way to start your first day onboard. It's hard enough to do everything in a weeks time. Hope it all works out for you.

Thanks so much in advance for doing this review. Love the pics of your two adorable girls.

    Have a great week!!!

  7. We had stopped sailing NCL for around 10 years and in the past year or so decided to give them another try. So I missed out on all the changes and charges that had taken place. I didn't realize I and my husband had Platinum status until these last past 5 sailings.

I have to say out of the 10 visits to either LeBistro or LaCucina, we've never really had the best of service. I don't think they get much training or stick around in one restaurant enough to fully know the menu, not really sure. We still find ourselves doing almost all specialty dining. We just go in with the knowledge that we may or may not get a good server that knows what the heck they're doing. On the Getaway we had one girl in LeBistro that completely forgot everything from taking our order to bringing wine, etc. She ended up waiting on us the following week in the Haven. She didn't do too much better in there either!

  8. Parties go on till 1 am most nights. There was one night that bass was really heavy, not every time. There were different type parties on 5 out of the 7 nights. Other nights they show movies. You could also just join in on the party, if you can find any place to stand up there. It gets super crowded. Agree, kids can pretty much sleep through all the noise
