  1. You don't have to check her in at all. Just do your part of the online check-in, and that's it. It won't affect your boarding at all, other than there will be an extra key for her on the door when you get to the room. I also think you can remove her from the booking without repricing it, and keep all your current benefits (double points, OBC, etc.). @Ourusualbeach would be able to confirm it. but I see no reason why removing her would change your pricing, b/c you're still going on the same cruise in the same room.

  6. It depends on the style of scooter. Typically they don't do well in loose sand, but they're fine on a hard-packed dirt path.
  7. I think I may know what you're thinking of. For people with a cash account, they can take cash out in the casino and charge it to their room without a "convenience fee". If you have a credit card account, they charge something like 5% for cash withdrawals in the casino. The way around that is to use a slot machine to transfer money to the machine from your room, then cash out the ticket and take that to the cashier for cash. I do this because I cruise multiple consecutive cruises in a row, and this way I don't have to bring an inordinate amount of cash with me -- I just use the slot machine as an ATM, then pay off my credit card balance when it's due. Bonus is that I end up getting rewards (points/cash back) for my credit card charge! Regardless of if the casino cash withdrawal is what you're thinking of or not, there's still no reason to call them. There is no charge to use a credit card for your onboard account.
  8. Yes, that was only offered during the early part of COVID restart, when they weren't offering the Chops Lunch. If you purchased during that period, they honored it during your sailing. It's not normally an option, and not offered anymore.
  9. Just make sure you're fully charged before you go and you'll be fine. They last all day.

  11. They will only assign it if nobody in need has requested it. After a certain time, if nobody needing an accessible room has booked for that cruise, the rooms are made available to the general public. Rooms are larger for the same price -- consider it a bit of a free upgrade.
  12. Was it really cheaper to buy two Key programs than buying one 2-device internet package???? I've never seen that on an Oasis class ship. Lunch will be in the Main Dining Room with a Chops lunch menu. Other Key "benefits" are not worth anything to me.

  14. The rapid test that you can do at home is an antigen tests. There are rapid PCR tests and rapid antigen tests that can be done by a lab, so it would depend on how it's worded. All you need to get on the ship for a North American cruise is any negative test by an authorized lab. If you're going to be traveling to another country and cruising from there, you'd want to check and see what the rules are for travel to that country, and for travel back home.
  15. This, 100%! If you're paying interest on credit card debt, cruising isn't a wise financial decision. Credit cards aren't evil if you know how to use them properly.
  16. I've been cruising with Royal since 2013, and I've cruised enough that I'm now Diamond Plus and then some, and I've never heard of a surcharge for each purchase when using a credit card to pay for your onboard account.
  17. I understand Dave Ramsey's perspective on credit cards for people who are already in debt. However, for people who are debt-free, it doesn't make sense to NOT use credit cards and pay them off every month. I don't spend a dime on my credit cards -- no annual fees, no interest paid. I do, however, get points/cash back on all of my cards, and in the case of my Discover card, I also get savings on using my cash back (for example, I can purchase a $50 gift certificate for a place I was going to shop at anyway and only use $40-$45 of my cash-back balance for the $50 gift certificate). I never spend "extra" money trying to "chase points" -- it's everyday purchases that I was going to make anyway.

  19. I don't understand why someone wouldn't want to use a credit card instead of carrying excess cash? Especially if you use a credit card that has a cash-back or points/rewards system -- you're better off charging to the credit card and then paying off the balance the next month. Bonus -- you never have to visit Guest Services (and the line is always long on the last night).
  20. Solo in a regular room is two points, doubled under last year's promotion is four points per night. Solo in a Junior Suite or above is three points, doubled under last year's promotion is six points per night. If you got six points per night in a room that wasn't a JS or above, you just got lucky.
  21. If you tested positive with a PCR test (not antigen) and you get a Certificate of Recovery from your doctor, you don't need a test to cruise within 90 days of your positive PCR test. You're extremely unlikely to still test positive on an antigen test at this point, but you could still test positive on a PCR test for up to 90 days after your initial "illness".

  23. As long as the person can walk up the ramp and then have a staffer drive the scooter up the ramp for them, it's not a problem. The scooters don't have enough oomph to get up the steep ramp with a person riding them (unless it's a very small person), so a staffer will walk up behind the scooter while driving it up the ramp. Electric wheelchairs (not scooters) can typically navigate the ramp without any problem (or maybe a slight push from behind, but the rider can remain seated). I often travel on Royal with a couple disabled friends, and have experience with them in both rented scooters and rented electric wheelchairs.
