On the morning show (OH insists on watching it)Yo Yo announced on QM2 in June that you could book a future cuise, get OBC and free parking etc and transfer it to another cruise already published or not to any of the 4 ships and take your onboard benefits with you. Does not have to be of higher value. This is what we did.

Having spent 40 nights on QM2 recently I did not see any demoralised crew only extremely hard working and polite.

U r correct that was the policy in the past but the advent of fast good seaboats such as the Nelson led to pilot boats operating out of nearby ports in London case Harwich and Ramsgate. Liverpool pilot ships used to patrol at the Bar LV before changing to fast launches. .

Many years ago 70`s or so London pilots boarded from large pilot ships at the Sunk 12 miles off Harwich or Dungeness if approaching from the west small tenders were used. Something similar still occurs at the sea pilot station for Hamburg using a large catamaran mothership.

True possibly but I had similar with a round UK last Sept when holyhead was cancelled last minute when assurances about berth repair did not materialise.

There was a vague suggestion some time ago that dredging was needed for QM2.

Can only speak of our 2 QM2 cruises from Southampton Jan &June boarding was quick 30/40 minutes from car drop off 2 cabin. As diamond we did have priority boarding. Saw the lines in Hamburg first call 12th June was worse than 22nd. I not certain that Cunard have total responsibility 4 port ops.

I am probably unusual in that I don't consume alcohol the reason simply in my previous life failing a breath test ment instance suspension and eventual dismissal. So the perk of inclusive drinks would not benefit me.

That surely is personal choice on our recent 12n QM2 cruise we did not use our entire diamond internet allowance as we logged in on alternative days allowing each of us to use each other's allowance. We prefer to chose excursions rather than the "free one" provided by a cruise company.

I once went on a TA to a lecture by Seth Gopin the subject was NY architecture not a subject i was enthused about but he sold it to me by his command of subject, delivery , no reading from notes etc. rather in the way that a great conductor can enthuse me about a piece I am not usually enthused about. Svetlanov and Le Mer being on example.

What is the source for this for these figures? Cunard WS states QM2 2691 pax and 2061 and 2081 for QV & QE. It could be wrong of course. Our preference for Cunard can be given in one word namely ambience. Although in my case at least being at sea is enough.

In 30+ Cunard cruises + several other lines it has never happened to us. It has however happened st a 5☆ hotel.

QM2 will not be visiting Flam on Saturday 18th because of environmental issues. Instead will be in Stavanger. Other ports not affected.
