If you are a fan of watermelon drinks this is my new go to...since my last cruise was March of 2020...

2 oz Western Son watermelon vodka

    1 oz simple syrup

    1 oz fresh lemon juice

4 oz La Croix lime seltzer

It is not too sweet and great poolside

    I got one too:

.75 shot Smirnoff Watermelon 🍉 vodka .75 shot Smirnoff cucumber 🥒 vodka

12 oz Trader Joe’s Watermelon Cucumber Cooler

pour over Orange 🍊 flavored ice cubes (next to the regular ice 🧊 in the grocery store aisle).

since TJ’s watermelon cucumber cooler is seasonal (April - October-ish) you can sub it out with Simply Watermelon 🍉 found next to Simply Orange 🍊 juice in the juice aisle of the grocery store.

I’ve danced At a couple of the band performances and they say wear mask when dancing on dance floor and stay 5 feet away from band so they can keep there mask off.  No one makes you have your mask on if you are sitting at a table listening to the music.

Strange - how would you stay 5 feet away from the band? The dance floor in Havana is too small unless they removed tables and chairs?

Not to mention the person at Tesla was hanging out with them without a mask, showing them the car without a care in the world.

But even Vlogger Josh said he had been feeling pretty bad with symptoms he just thought were a sinus infection, and although he boasted he was wearing his mask, admitted he went to the formal dinner before he decided to test.  He may have tested negatively, thank God, but still I wouldn't want to be at a formal dinner in an enclosed space with no mask in sight while sick people are at a table near me or even not near me if the AC was blowing my way.

Yes, that Tesla shuttle service President was not very smart at all.

I think the Formal Dinner on night 2 was the tipping point for Josh. He mentioned how uncomfortable he was during dinner being that felt better before dinner and then started to feel aches during dinner.
At some point in time our gut feeling should prompt us to take action and I’m glad he took action fairly quickly into the trip.

  4. CDC color code for this sailing is now yellow with the CDC starting an investigation.

@Wanna_Cruize Thanks for the info on sip & cover being enforced in the venues and Elemis products still in the showers!

I’m nervous about Havana being crowded now with all the different colors of wristbands and no wristbands. Have you and your wonderful husband found it to be crowded? Also, tell us the story about when you told him about the Cabana upgrade and his reaction! Did you wait until after boarding to tell him?

The real problem as I see it is that one person began having symptoms on Day 3, but had breakfast as usual on Day 4. On Day 5, they both went out for fresh air and sunshine. They did not test until Day 6 when she lost taste and smell.

This tells me that she was sick the entire time - just not officially diagnosed, yet they continued to be out and about. The quarantine on the last night was too little, too late.

    THANK YOU 🙏🏻 nailed it!
I would just like to point out the other elephant in the quarantine room - they agreed to Tesla car service knowing she was positive!!!! If the President of the Tesla car service is offering to pick me up knowing I’m positive AND my car is parked within walking distance of the port like they stated why in the world would I allow the President to come get me even if he knew I was positive and offered?????

That's not the same situation at all. They were not voluntarily quarantining - they were both told to quarantine until their next test. And then they both were negative.

I'm talking about, if on day 2 of the cruise, one passenger tests positive and the other tests negative. They separate the two people and put the positive person in quarantine. The person who is negative is not quarantined and as far as I know is able to move about freely.

No, they aren’t able to move about freely until 24 hours after a second covid tests comes back negative according to Carnival protocols as outlined in the above video. With the case of the positive wife and negative husband they chose to report her illness & get tested less than 24 hours from debarkation. I suspect Carnival did not separate the couple and let them stay together since there was less than 24 hours before debarkation. The couple did decide to “self quarantine” while she was feeling ill prior to reporting her illness to Carnival prompting testing. During the “self quarantine” they went out on deck so she could get fresh air & at some point he went out to get breakfast burritos. To me that’s not quarantine. They should have reported early on like these guys did and follow all quarantine protocols but they did not, which in my opinion led to possible further spread. You asked me would I quarantine separate from my travel companion if I’m the same scenario and my answer is I would have followed Carnival’s quarantine protocols to the letter like these two gentlemen did. If I tested positive & my travel companion tested negative than by all means separate us!

Unfortunately in the latest vlog we find  the vaccinated husband is now infected as well.

Exactly. If I had tested positive & the person I was traveling with had tested negative I would at the very least double masked around my travel companion and would have requested to be moved to a separate cabin. She was coughing a lot around him for sure and every time she did I would cringe 😬

I also follow that vlogger and they self quarantined  when the one wasnt feeling well.  When taste and smell were lost they notified medical and got the respective tests.  As for venturing out, that was done early on  prior to testing, not after.

Prior to being tested but experiencing symptoms & contagious, which doesn’t equate to quarantine. If someone is avoiding a test for risk of being taken off at port but is experiencing symptoms then one should at least adhere to proper quarantine procedures and not venture out of their cabin at minimum.

Also, how is the Midnight Project band?

How was the bracelet situation in Havana pool area today on first sea day? Still different colors/no bracelet peep?

Is slip & sip required in some venues such as comedy club?

Havana Bar- are people dancing with masks on or off? Is masked while dancing being enforced in Havana?

I saw that the Elemis Spa body wash & shampoo are not being offered in Havana showers on MG. Are they still stocking Elemis body wash & shampoo in Havana or did they do away with that too?

    Thanks!

Is that door marked crew only on the starboard side? What happens if you try to go through it?

@Wanna_Cruizecan you ask your cabin attendant to bring you slippers to go with your Havana robes or were the slippers already in the closet? I’m thinking they cut back on offering Havana guests slippers but hopefully I’m wrong.

There were ships crew, cheering and music playing. Basically, a long ‘conga-line’ snaking thought the casino, around to the atrium. I ended up dancing my way through it. They were excited, we were excited, it felt great to finally be onboard.

We went directly to our room back in the Havana area, to drop off our bags. Our room was ready (I expected so, since there was no prior cruise to turn the cabins over for. We got settled, in and I went exploring a bit. I found on Deck 5, at the end of the corridor of cabins, there IS a door that leads directly to the back of the Havana bar area. It doesn’t show it on the maps, but it is there. Also a staircases leading down from Deck 6 is there. I grabbed a drink from the bar, and went back to the cabin, and our luggage was already there. We were ready to go.

We went and did our e-muster, which took really about 2-3 minutes. Once our cards were scanned, and we saw the life-jacket demonstration, we were finished and on our way. We make our way to Pig & Anchor for lunch buffet, outside on Port side of deck 5. The buffet was basically empty, so we went through the line, pointing to what we wanted while they dished it up for us. The BBQ chicken was great, as was the pulled pork, and coleslaw & beans. DH had the Beef & sausage and liked it also.

  13. Although I am not onboard right now I have a good fb friend onboard and she went live yesterday for the sail away party on Lido and streamed pretty much The Who thing. It was really nice to see a lot of passengers wearing masks 😷 while dancing on Lido during sail away! Wow 🤩 Not sure if it’s a California thing or due to lack of social distancing on Lido but I loved seeing all those masks!
