the reps told me it was meant for new bookings only, booked this week. It was broadcast to anyone with cruises sailing after June 5th for some reason. They even denied I could see the pricing myself?? Oh well, life goes on.
-
The original intent of the sale was to only apply to sailings BOOKED 5/24/23 - 5/30/23, sailing 6/5/23 through 5/27/24. That said, some of us were able to see the sale prices in our cruise planner and took advantage of it. it worked for me on excursions and dining. I could not do the beverage package online, and like most of us who called, got turned down by Celebrity, and i did talk to a supervisor. They explained my cruise didn't qualify, as it was booked last year, but sailing in 2 months. As typical when these errors occur, some jump early, and others don't., but they always correct the issue at some point.

Agreed, I was in the same situation, taking my daughter and her family to Alaska in July.. My wife was initially pissed i had cancelled, and couldn't re book immediately, after the others had already rebooked successfully. I got lucky. .

Yes it gets a little tricky at times. We are traveling with family, and we decided as a group to roll the dice and cancel our excursions and rebook at the lower price. My daughters family had no issues, but when I went to rebook i had difficulty finding my last excursion, and when i did, it showed sold out. I waited for a few minutes, and luckily was finally able to book it. Needless to say it was a bit stressful not being able to book it right away.

That was not the issue. Celebrity has no problem splitting packages as I did due to medical reasons....My wife is a diabetic (but you have to cal to accomplish it) The pricing was only supposed to apply to New bookings with certain sail dates. My sailing was booked last year so technically it did not qualify, even though my cruise planner would allow it. I might have been able to cancel what i had, rebooked through the planner, then called again to change my wife's plan back to the zero pkg. More work than it was worth

i just looked at my cruise planner for a cruise next year, and the premium drink pkg was "on sale" for $137.99 per day plus grats!
-
I feel your pain. Cheers to those who were able to score a deal!!, Another wonderful Celebrity IT screw up. I was in a unusual situation. My wife had the zero pkg, i had the premium pkg. So i called to get the 50% discount. After multiple attempts, X came to the conclusion my sailing didn't qualify: booked it last year, but sailing this July., so I was told no, supervisor said no. I had explained that it was in my cruise planner and i could purchase it at any time. They said it was impossible, so I offered to send them a screenshot, but told it wouldn't change things. the problem having done so, I would've had to upgrade my wife and I both, which was more than I had originally paid. Did however rebook my specialty dining and excursions

Please remember, you can only get your captains club discount pre cruise, and you need to call .

I was able to do this just recently , via phone, to get my CC discount. I drink, my wife does not. She is also a diabetic. I explained it, and was able to get the premium for my self and the zero proof for my wife. No hassle, no documentation, was easier than expected.

Yes, usually that is the case on M-class ships

Booking a cruise while onboard...

Yes, that's what it was last time onboard for us -
Solarium adults only... Not so much. 😐

As they should -

That is correct, some have said it is a smaller window of 4-6, 4-5, depending upon the sailing. Nobody likes change, but if the rules change, so must we. Either way, it's not a deal breaker for me. -

Close enough to hear all the old folks snoring while trying to enjoy our snack ! -

but it is in the same location ????? Perhaps Celebrity should paint some yellow lines, not to be crossed at certain times?? LOL -

The Solaruim pool area yes., but not the cafe. The spa cafe is complimentary dining....just like the Ocean view Cafe, which allow kids. The Cafe is located in the Solarium. Most kids would go for the junk food, my granddaughter surprisingly doesn't. Although i have to admit, I've yet to sail on an E class ship. The link you sent was for the Edge. Maybe the setup is different. The whole argument is pointless, now that they've changed the rules. -

My point was kids aren't allowed in the Solarium pools , unless noted, which is fine by me, but they are allowed to go to the Solarium. My wife enjoys taking my granddaughter to the Aqua spa cafe( which is located in the Solarium) and sit there and enjoy whatever they choose to try. Nothing elitist here. It's just the constant complaining here..... -
Was on the Equinox a few months back, Sparkling wine was in the cabin upon arrival.....which I had the steward remove as it is awful, along with the canapes. We just never cared for them, most times having been sitting in the room for quite a while. But we do enjoy BLU! Always sail AQ

Solarium adults only... Not so much. 😐
highway180 replied to want2seaitall's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Well it won't be me ! My next cruise will be with my "kids" and my granddaughter. And all this moaning about no kids in the Solarium is tiring and pointless. This board use to be a place where newbies could gain useful information about Celebrity. Lately it has become a haven for "KARENS", i would also include the OP in this category -

Best advise yet....STAY HOME, don't cruise, there you only have to put up with kids if you choose. Kids will be kids, and honestly I've never had any issues with them on any of my sailings with Celebrity. -
If you drink mixed drinks, most will tolerate using the cheaper liquor. The beer and wine list is truly awful, but again that's my opinion, and it IS shared by many i cruise with. This generous benefit, as you call it has been paid for by many previous cruises, by many guests. I believe they could do better. Most people who cruise do not frequent these boards Again, just my opinion, not looking to start a debate Cheers
-
this was done pre cruise to get my elite discount, I believe it may be easier to upgrade on board, but the captains club discount may not be applied. I'm sure someone here can correct me if wrong, as i always do this before boarding Cheers

Why even worry about it? With most people having beverage packages, the choices are far better than the swill they serve for the "happy Hour". We stopped going years ago, when they had the "event" in a dedicated lounge. What do have for wine? Red or white . Where's it from? the bottle. 🤣
