  1. Hi Amy

The Women that called me was great, kind and caring about our issues and very concerned about us and our satisfaction I will give her name and a GREAT review if and when it is resolved even if not she took the time to address it and try to take care of it That is a great Employee .

    That is great to hear!

  2. Hello there,

I am Amy, the agent who assisted monkeybone in resolving her problem. I just wanted to say that nobody above me (Vivian) assigned me the issue "down the pipeline". It is not in my job description to go on social media and try to help my guests, I do it out of my own time because I dont like to see unsatisfied guests so I try to help as much as I can. I just wanted to throw that out there, to show that there are some of us who truly care about our customers and go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy.

Thank you Amy for all of your help. You are wonderful at your job. You went out of your way to make things right.

I brought this thread back up to show that NCL does have a customer relations problem that starts at the top.

NCL needs to make sure they inform their employees of the changes.

I did not hear back from: Elizabeth, Vivian or Andy Stuart. I contacted Andrew on twitter he asked me to email him. I CC'd him on all emails to Vivian.

That just shows NCL will take no responsibility for anything.

Not even an apology for the snow job I got from Vivian Ewart Vice President, Passenger Services.

I hope my onboard experience will be amazing.

  3. Could you please tell me what you mean when you say "traveling before July" as it related to Cirque. We also have the Cirque included in the UDP. We sail early June. What does this mean for us? Is it still included in the UDP, or no?

    Thanks

You should not have a problem. They made the changes for sailings after July 3rd.

It is included in your sailing. I think I took one for the team! It should not happen to anyone sailing before July.

With that being said, I still feel they should honor the Cirque show to anyone who booked the promo under those terms no matter what the date.

  4. Is it possible to pre-pay my own gratuities, but not the other 2 in my party (I don't think they wanna do that)? Every time I try it wants the whole $288 for 3 of us and I can't find the option to do just mine

You will have to call for that or pay onboard. The system would not allow me to do that either.

  5. Thanks for the compliment. The dog hardly listens to me on these topics so I come to CC instead. ;)

Yes as far as I know there are still CAS check in lines, but the VIP check in status (similar to suites) awarded to Golden and above is apparently gone.

    Rochelle

I was Golden on my NYE BA cruise and did not get to board with suite guest so that may have been done away with for a while.

I am very happy we still get CAS check in!

  6. This isn't related to any of the above but a question of interest if anyone can answer. I am going to be on the Quantum of the Seas for 45 days starting in May and am wondering if the royal casino has live Texas Hold'em tournaments. If nobody knows can you tell me who I would contact to find out. Thanks in advance

    Rowena

Here is a link I found for you:

    http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/experiencetypes/product.do?pagename=onboard_prod_tournaments

You can always shoot them an email: clubroyale@rccl.com

  7. Yes still wine with the Casino dinner. In talking to other Casino 'dinner' guests, they wanted and received 2 alcoholic drinks instead of the bottle of wine.

And yes there is a CAS line, but no more VIP escorted perk which was very nice.

I'm ok with boarding after the suite guest. Glad to hear we still have CAS check in :)

  8. The thing is where do you stop that? Should there be special activities for 20-25 year olds, and 26-30 year olds etc? At some point, adult is adult. The legal drinking age is 18 here in Quebec so at 18 you can do whatever any other adult does, the cruise is what you make it, there are a lot of activities on the ship, they're just not specifically targetted to a tiny age group. At 18 or 30 you know if you like trivia, or dancing, or just laying by the pool, or bowling etc. If he's outgoing he'll find friends, if he's shy and introverted then it might be a bit harder.

They have planned activities for kids and teens up to 17. Then they have family activities and adult activities. Single cruisers, FOD, FOB they even have a club for teens 13-17 Entourage. But nothing for the 18-20 group.

An adult teen get together 18-20 would be great on the first night of the cruise IMO.

The legal drinking age in most states in the USA is 21.

So at 21 they can do all the adult activities not all families would or should allow their 18-20 year old to drink.

  9. Good point! lol

That would be great! He would have a lot more fun if he could find someone his age to hang out with. He always has in the past, but that was when he went to the kids club.

Yes I know I wish NCL and other lines would have a few planned activities for that age group 18-20. My son is 19 and met a lot of friends on our last BA cruise the first night.

He had a blast......as long as we all ate dinner together, I was happy. I was very active on our roll call.

  10. We opted for the UBP. We both like the idea of being able to drink whenever we want, as we always try to watch how much we waste on alcohol on cruises. We don't treat ourselves to it much outside of vacation, although we do love our wine on Friday night. We are considering purchasing the UDP, but we really don't think we would get our money back. We will have 4 port days and we may just opt to do something easy like the buffet or O'Sheehan's looked good. I prefer simple foods: steak, fish, chicken, salads, etc. I'm not into mixed dishes, Asian, etc. I eat Italian on occasion but I can take it or leave it because it bloats me. I do love Mexican! Does it sound like we would get our money's worth to you? I do think I would enjoy the Illusionarium and if the Brazilian steakhouse is good I would love it! Chima's is one of my absolute favorite restaurants, but I doubt it would be that good. I am a big meat eater.

So you recommend booking our shows and dining ahead of time?

Yes book shows and dining. Even the main dining rooms 90 days before your cruise. You can always change it onboard IMO its always good to have a ressie.

The Brazilian resturant is great I love the salad bar! The steak house Cagney's is really good too.

  11. Given the 3 cruises we were looking at, I think we made the right choice. We will be cruising on the Getaway next summer, only 443 days from now! lol

Anything I need to know about NCL that is different than Carnival and Princess? What exactly do they mean by freestyle? Is that just referring to the fact that they don't have assigned seating? Will we need to make reservations to eat or just show up?

Did you pick the free UDP or the UBP?

You can and should book your dinning and shows 90 days before your cruise.

You can always change it once onboard.

  12. We wouldn't mind doing that. If he does anything stupid though (drinks too much...) we will revoke it. Is it an option to give him a daily limit?

I did not give my son a limit.....after two beers and the rocking of the ship he knew his limit! LOL

Don't forget to join your roll call and see if others are traveling with young adults 18-20. Then they can meet up after boarding or at the M&G.

  13. He will be a happy camper!

It's nice they offer this service. My experience has always been you had to carry it on yourself and then tote it around until your room was ready. :(

That would be a pain! NCL is pretty good about having the cabins ready soon after you board.....On my last few cruises anyway. The luggage delivery does take a few hours. I always keep anything important and a change of clothes in my big travel purse. If your son wants to swim the first day have him bring that stuff in his carry-on.

  14. We wouldn't mind doing that. If he does anything stupid though (drinks too much...) we will revoke it. Is it an option to give him a daily limit?

Yes just go to customer service with your son and both of your ID's and they will put a sticker on his card to be able to drink beer and wine. I did it the first day of the cruise.

I always check in a carry-on. I fill it with cokes and water. I don't like pepsi.
