  1. Pretty much every chain has hotels in the Dania Beach area (with free airport shuttles). Much cheaper there then on 17th street or the waterfront. Perhaps a bit further but still within a $20 or so Uber ride.
  2. The reservation I made in the app was totally changed when it appeared on board. Same time (6:00) but different dining room and a shared table vs. table for two. I just showed up where I originally reserved and requested what I really wanted (and the same table each night). At some point the next day that request showed up as a reservation in my app.
  3. They are $100 per day for the entire day. Initial check in is just outside the port and the pickup point for the carts is a two or three block walk from there. You do need a reservation as they are very popular and they sell out before the cruise. There is no deposit required so no reason not to reserve.
  4. All of the roads on the cart tour we took (the full north circle) were paved so no problem for a car.
  5. Ah, all the modern ships with their wall mounted TVs. Just got off another cruise line where I was awakened at 7:00 every morning by the cruise directors morning show in the cabin next door.
  6. Perhaps you should have said two aircraft types.
  7. It's not inexpensive any longer. $18 for one or $15 per person for 2 or more in the same party.
  8. There was none that I saw when we were there a couple weeks ago. With three ships parallel parking the length of the walk can vary greatly based on where your ship is docked.
  9. A couple of weeks ago it was reliable but certainly not fast. There just doesn't seem to be enough bandwidth when everyone is awake and on the ship. Trying to use a remote desktop for example was absolutely impossible most times. Perhaps if he can do his work at 3:00am he might be ok.
  10. I emailed yourdaytours and they responded that they do schedule tours specifically for cruise ship arrivals.
  11. Not sure about the paperwhite as you need a browser to log in and I've never tried to browse on one. I was easily able to download books by turning on my phone hotspot and connecting the paperwhite to it. No browser needed that way.
  12. Yes, on the Enchanted the lasagna was on every night while the second choice rotated nightly.
  13. It was on the menu once on the Enchanted cruise just ended.
  14. I used one similar to this and it was great. There is one issue though. If you have NFC (tap to pay) on your watch, the medallion won't work when it needs to be tapped. Turning off NFC on my watch solved this problem.
  15. On our cruise last fall they were 5:30 and 8:00. The buffet in the River Grill was open every night with most of the same items that were in the dining room minus the lobster but plus prime rib.
  16. Yep, I understand that the car rental shuttle was discontinued and that there is a shuttle that goes back to the terminal. My question is "can I get an Uber of Lyft directly from the car rental return, or do I need to take a shuttle back to one of the main terminals to do that".
  17. Can anyone tell me whether there is a ride share pickup at the car rental return or do I need to take a shuttle back to the terminal? Thanks
  18. As I recall this is not the first time that Southwest has had this issue. I find it hard to believe that given the huge losses that must result from something like this, that their schedule system wouldn't have been first on the list to upgrade a long ago. There's also got to be an impact on future business. I know I'm no longer going to consider Southwest if I need to be someplace in a timely manner.
  19. I was under the impression that a US carrier was required to provide a refund for a flight cancellation regardless of the reason. I've been able to get that refund on a couple of occasions but they don't make it easy. You need to find your way through their refund procedures or be willing to spend a bunch of time waiting for customer service.
  20. Yes, but those of us who booked under the promo and haven't sailed yet would really like to know the answer.
  21. If bluetooth is turned on then your watch will show the same time as your phone. Whether you set your phone to automatic or manual time zone changes depends. Typically the ship changes time zones overnight. Your phone may change whenever the gps detects you've entered a different time zone. That could be in the middle of the day. For me, switching the phone to manual time zones and then changing it before I go to bed makes the most sense.
  22. It just pops up on my phone whenever I open up the app. You do have to scroll down instead of up though.
  23. This begs the question of what does this do to the prices. Currently you pay port charges in addition to the fare. I've never quite figured out what those are for when most of the time they just tie up to a tree. You also pay $19.50 per person per day in gratuities. So I'm guessing they will just raise the price to cover these two items and the additional commission they will be paying on them. Don't see how this changes anything other than they get to keep your money from gratuities from final payment date rather than not until the end of your cruise. It also guarantees that everyone will pay the full gratuity rather than potentially reducing it. Probably in an effort to insure that travelers from non tipping countries still help compensate the staff.
  24. Nah, even last March there were plenty of hotel shuttles to the nearby hotels. Happened to be at the Fairfield but saw plenty from other places.
