Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We did this tour with Viking and loved it. Not only did the tour guide do a wonderful job, but the stops we made were extraordinary. We were given plenty of time at each stop also. Lunch was at a restaurant that had a farm attached and they raised their produce there. It was the best meal I had in Iceland off the ship. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the restaurant....they have an ice cream parlor below the restaurant and the ice cream was wonderful. If you go to that one...definitely get some ice cream after lunch.
  2. I have taken two Viking river cruises and never found the hallways narrow. Did I just not notice?? I am not a big drinker so I never purchase the beverage package and have found the included wines (especially the white) quite adequate. The cabins were quite comfy also for my sister and myself so I had no problems there either. These are the only river cruises I have ever been on, so can't compare them with anything else. Maybe if I had been on other cruise lines river cruises, I would notice extreme differences. I have thoroughly enjoyed my river cruises and ocean cruises on Viking. Of course, it could be that I am just so happy to be sailing and seeing places I have never seen that I don't notice minor inconveniences. If you see me on a Viking cruise, (one coming up on July 15) I will have a big smile on my face from the time I embark until I have to leave. Happy sailing to all.
  3. My sister used Euros to pay her end of cruise invoice on one of our cruises (don't remember which one) but they did accept them.
  4. I stayed in 5110 on the aft a DV1 on my prior Iceland cruise and I loved it. The balcony was much deeper and that one was covered which came in handy for those rainy times. I really enjoyed watching the wake and leaving ports gave excellent views. The cabin was a typical DV which I like. Tried to get an aft for my upcoming July Norway and Iceland cruise but they were all taken. You will love it Clay.
  5. Thank you all for your responses and pictures. Looks like it is well equipped for a cruise ship. I usually do a bike warmup, chest press, lat pulldown, rowing machine, leg press, body weight squats and then some free weights. Think I can get everything...now if you know where they keep the motivation..I will be all set. 🙂
  6. Thanks so much. I have good intentions but....we'll see how it goes. I do three days a week now and hoping I can convince myself to maintain the same on my 2 week cruise in July.
  7. Can anyone tell me what equipment is in the gym on Jupiter? Machines? Free weights? Any answers greatly appreciated.
  8. I totally agree that this is probably an accounting function and not a reflection on you in any way. I am a CPA and work for a large healthcare entity (we have 38 hospitals scattered across the country) and some of the account titles we use are not reflective of what actually is recorded in those accounts. Just ignore where the refund is recorded for their in house folks....it means something to them but should not concern you at all. At times also, things get miscoded by staff and later we at corporate have to ferret out the mistakes and get them corrected to the appropriate account. It may not be caught until we close the books for a month and see something odd sitting in an account, research and get it moved to the correct account. Happens all the time....especially by the facility personnel and some even by our corporate accountants. Everybody is just human and mistakes will occur. Sorry this rankled you so much, but it really has nothing to do with you or your refund.
  9. Thanks Clay. So basically a coach tour but with some free time in the gardens? BTW....Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing. Since we are doing this cruise one week prior to you we will be sure to take good care of the Jupiter for you. (I'll also inquire as to the Pistachio Buns on the ship)
  10. Has anyone taken this excursion? Is it a coach or walking tour? I really couldn't tell from the description. Is it worth taking? Thanks for any info.
  11. I booked mine last week and they were on MVJ with prices at least 2 weeks prior to my booking date. Hope that helps.
  12. Thank you for responding. My sister has difficulty with walking over uneven ground so want to be able to advise her on some of the excursions. One more question, if you don't mind, are there souvenir shops near the pier? Have to have my magnet from the Faroes, lol.
  13. Thank you. How difficult is that excursion..?
  14. Was that a Viking tour or one you booked independently? Thanks for the info.
