  1. I'll see you Sunday! Less than 17 hours before I take my test at 7 am at home Friday ...with an 11:15 CVS back-up scheduled which I trust I will be able to cancel. Yes...weather for Sunday looks good in Baltimore...if not a wee cold.

Luckily the anxiety of the test has been transferred to my neighbor informing this morning at 8 am that they are replacing their fences TODAY and I've already been informed that they heave decimated my flower beds on MY SIDE!

    Time for a CRUISE!!!

I would agree that some of the other daytime activities were missing, presumably because they were deemed to violate social distancing. No hairy chest competition, etc. I think the extensive number of trivia sessions also coincided with the fact that this was a December cruise out of a northern port, and the sea days to and from Baltimore aren't always conducive to outdoor/pool deck activities.

They probably could have done more karaoke and other types of indoor activities in some of the lounges during the day, but I never found myself bored.

Note: Karaoke requires "shared" microphones.....that may be an issue with the activity?

From the patent for the technology I read it also records your weight. This will be useful incase someone has the same facial artifacts as you. They will use the facial recognition throughout the ship and nag the unvaccinated who are not properly wearing their mask. The weight will also be checked at the Lido, and may

light up screens saying "No Buffet for you Porkchop." In the MDR the waiter will be advised to pull a face when people who should not have dessert try to order.

Before you call Carnival with a yackiety-yack, I'm just kidding.

Just read this...THANK YOU!!!!! We love levity...and you held it off just long enough in the passage to keep reading and then go "OHHH!!!!". Wonderful!

The app has a selection box that says "Seat me at a shared table." It is unchecked by default, but you can select it if you would like to share a table with others. Otherwise, you'll be seated at a 2 or 4-top by yourself.

The tables aren't assigned by computer; the app just acts as the hostesses used to act in checking you in and giving you a buzzer. The hostess just sees your name and party size populate on the list and they assign you a table. The app then acts as your buzzer.

The same applies to parties of all sizes for breakfast and lunch - you check in on the app and will be seated at your own table unless you specify that you'd like to share a table with others.

If you prefer a certain table location or wait staff, you can request it by checking in with the hostess at the entrance instead of using the app. They will accommodate you if they aren't on a wait.

    Thanks!!! You are so attentive!

One last and maybe important question that no one [I think?] has asked:

    Do they provide masks?

Of course I am bringing some....but how many....hmmm...Howard

  5. Question for you about your tables in the MDR as you are solo and I will also be solo on the December 19th sailing.

You said your table is assigned on the app?  Where you usually located as a single? I like sitting on the upper level by the inside rail overlooking the main floor at dinner, but by a window for daytime dinning. Can I request that if I don't like the table the computer has selected for me?

    Totally enjoying your live review!!!

I should also point out that Carnival CC has a sticky thread on COVID Testing at the top of the Carnival Topics. You will find Many questions and responses there. Trying to keep all the COVID testing questions and answers in one place so they are not repeated over, and Over, and over yet again.

That is great to hear! I am planning on Abbot home testing on the Friday morning at 7 am the week before Christmas week and thought it might be very busy with long wait times. But that is encouraging to hear that 2 days before Thanksgiving was free and clear!

  7. There is a small zoo called Ardastra Zoo....which is really nice. It is a small zoo with many exotic birds walking around and they also haver big cats. It is open now on Fridays to Sundays...or with a group tour during the week if planned https://ardastra.com/  I would say it is an hour and a half visit off the beaten path and easy to get to. We walked one time.

Sorry if this is off-topic but I wanted to respond to this.  I was on the 10/31 Magic cruise and we did the Walgreens Rapid Diagnostic Test (the one that says results return in about 24 hours).  With the email that is sent, a link is provided to view the results.  The results do have a QR code, but we opted to just print the results (which also had the QR code).  The reps at the port made sure that name and DOB matched the person on the itinerary and that the results were negative.  They looked it over very carefully (this was at Port Canaveral).

Also, even though the website says that the results would be back within 24 hours, we both had our results within 2 hours.  We did have these at-home tests, just in case something happened.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks so much! There is so much conflicting information. I was actually told on the phone with Wallgreens that the "Rapid Diagnostic Test" and the "Rapid Antigen Test" are two different things and they do not do the Antigen test. Argh!

I just took it two hours ago. It could not be any easier. Results were emailed before the video call ended. You get a copy you can print or you get a QR code on the app.  Simple

    Hi BigGuy!

The QR code is on the app? I just called Walgreen and the recording said "Test results do not come with QR Codes". Please to explain. Thanks!

So when you get to the port for your cruise you can just show them the email from Walgreens? And when I look on the Walgreen's web site it says "Rapid Diagnostic Test"...is that the same thing as an Antigen test?

Well at least they still HAVE the single-sex free sauna. It does get pretty busy in the afternoons, so not terrible at all! Unlike the new Celebrity Edge class ships that have NO single-sex saunas, free or paid. Complete buzzkill. The edge-class ships are off my list.

Sounds fine to me! There are plenty of towels and I don't think I will EVER drink out of a plain Water Fountain again....only refill at one of the bottle filling type fountains.
