  1. I have a question. I thought I saw a post about you can use any nights on Celebrity towards you RCI C&A status. I took a 15 night trip on Celebrity through the Panama Canal because RCI didn't have any ships going through at the time. I didn't know how this works since Celebrity and RCI are under the same parent company. Thanks!
  2. Be sure to read your policy carefully. My wife fell and broke her hand and glasses the first night of our cruise. We thought she was going to have to have surgery when we pulled into Cozumel but the doctors on board decided that she could wait until return to the US. Because her surgery and glasses replacement were AFTER out cruise dates the insurance didn't pay to replace the glasses or any of the copays for the surgery and follow up physical therapy.
  3. My wife and I did our first cruise on the Independence and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Granted that was a few years ago and things have changed a bit. In answer to your questions I would leave Savannah a LOT earlier than 8am "just in case" there are traffic issues, flat tire, potty breaks etc. Myself I would inclined to leave between 4 - 6 am. When you get to the ship there are lots of other food options rather than fighting the crowds in the Windjammer. There is no need to make any show reservations, just show up for them. Enjoy!! We also had an inside cabin down on deck 2 and it was really convenient to just walk up 1 set of stairs to our deck/cabin instead of waiting for the elevators like everyone else.
  4. On a recent cruise with 2 of my grandsons aged 4 & 9 they both had their own seapass cards with room key abilities but if I remember correctly they didn't have any charging abilities so no soda, video games without mom/dad or grandparents around.
  5. Agreed but Tri Rail made LOTS of stops between FLL and MIA whereas Brightline was the express route with not stops. About 45 min difference between the 2 in traveling time.
  6. One god option is to take the Brightline train from FLL to the MIA airport. You would have to UBer or taxi from the cruise terminal to the Brightline station. We did this on our last cruise when we flew into FLL but we were cruising out of MIA. The train was quick and VERY inexpensive. They offer a free shuttle from the train station in Miami to the airport and it is not very far. I think our fare between FLL and MIA was $17.
  7. My reservation has $100 OBC and it is for the cabin and NOT per person.
  8. My 2 grandkids age 9 and 4 loved Adventure Ocean during a trip on Oasis in March, 2022. They even spent the day there on one of our port days so mom and dad could do some cave exploring.
  9. I got off the Oasis in March, 2022. I don't remember what time we had to be out of our cabin but think it was about 8am we waited in the Schnoor bar until called and were off the ship, cleared customs with baggage in hand within 20 min of leaving ship. No line at all.
  10. I noticed on the App that your can order lobster on nights OTHER than the typical lobster night for a fee of course. I wonder if that is what the OP is seeing or if RCI is charging for lobster every night including the typical lobster night.
  11. The Bayside Marketplace in Miami is a good place to wander around, have some lunch etc while waiting to check in to the hotel. Also there is a great sightseeing boat tour called the Thriller that operates out of the Bayside Marketplace that is a lot of fun.
  12. I "think" that you might might a scuba course offered on one of the Oasis class ships in the aqua theatre pool. We sailed the Oasis in Mar, 2022 and I think I saw that being offered but can't be sure. I tried to look at my upcoming cruise but it doesn't show that kind of info yet. A TA might be able to be of assistance.
  13. Oasis of the Seas has a pool table down in Playmakers
  14. On our cruise on the Oasis last Mar our room keys didn't work until after completing the E muster.
  15. I saw behind the scene tours being offered on sea days during our cruise on the Oasis last March or a price.
  16. I came off of the Oasis last March (2022) and granted it is larger than your ship but my 2 grandkids loved AO and a couple of days requested to go there. On one of our port days the kids stayed in AO while mom and dad went ashore for their excursion and had a good time. Like others have said you had to sign up the kids at the beginning of the cruise and at the time you had to reserve time slots when they were just starting sailing after Covid. I am sure that has slacked off a bit now. Yes the splash pad was for little kids still in swim diapers.
  17. My son and daughter in law did a Central Park balcony with 2 kids aged 4 and 9 with no issues. They actually liked the balcony as they could sit out there and listen to the music coming up from central park while the kids slept.
  18. If you are good with some type of graphics program you can make your own and print them on magnetic sheets that go through any inkjet printer. Staples and Office sells a package of 8 1/2 X 11" magnetic sheets for about $15. Here is an example of one I did for an upcoming cruise for a cousin's 60th birthday. I found that when I did similar ones full size for a trip on the Oasis of the Seas they didn't stick to the doors as well as I would have liked because the cabin doors on the Oasis have wavy ridges in them. That is why for an upcoming cruise I am going to make them smaller and print 4 to a magnetic sheet.
  19. Not sure about the Odyssey but I did a cruise on the Oasis in March 2022 and they did a virtual muster. You had to watch a video on the RCI app and then show up at your muster station pretty much whenever prior to sailing they would take your name to check you in and you would be on your way. I liked that!! Didn't have to interrupt the day to all gather somewhere to be counted. NOTE - the seapass cards didn't work on the cabin doors until you did your muster.
  20. We did hour adjustments at midnight during a MIA-SAN Panama Canal cruise as we crossed the various time zones.
  21. We flew into Fort Lauderdale prior to a cruise and decided to do a sightseeing trip out of Miami. We booked our sightseeing trip with PLENTY of time to pick up rental car in FLL and drive down to MIAMI. As it turned out there was a marathon race going on in the area that we needed to be for our sightseeing trip and we almost missed our trip as we literally couldn't get there. We could see where we needed to go but all roads were blocked off.
  22. Fishiecrackers - I ran across an interesting word doc from another cruise line that was mainly designed for an autistic child so that they would know what to expect and the steps in the whole process. I modified this to fit my needs for a cruise I did last year with my two young grandkids. We went on the Oasis of the Seas so you may want to edit some of the references in this doc but maybe it will help. My Cruise Vacation Generic2.docx
  23. I had a grandson (4 y/o) that decided he wanted a nap. So he and dad went back to their cabin and napped for 4 hours!!
  24. I would love to do a B2B but definitely would prefer to stay in the same cabin if possible to cut down on the hassle. I think sending out most of your laundry on the last day of your first cruise even if you have to pay for it would be your best laundry option. I was on the Oasis in Mar 2022 and there wasn't enough time to try all of the restaurants and activities that I wanted so doing a B2B would be a great idea.
