  1. It will be on the app under entertainment - then movies/dances.
  2. I am not 100% certain but I thought that the 6 months expiration date from end of cruise was the requirement of some of the countries that RCI sails to and NOT an actual RCI requirement. Since you are headed to Canada and they don't care if your passport expires in 6 months or right after you get home it shouldn't be an issue.
  3. Wow - they obviously move the mini golf since I was onboard last. LOL! ANother thing to be careful of is the edging around the mini golf courses on all the RCI ships. We were on the Oasis about a year ago and playing at dusk and my wife didn't see the edging in the low light and proceeded to trip and break her hand and glasses.
  4. Agreed. My wife was clumsy playing mini gold on the Oasis and she tripped and broke her hand and glasses. We thought she was going to have to have surgery in Cozumel when we pulled in and that would have been VERY PRICEY. Fortunately I had trip insurance which would have covered it and the doctors on board decided that she could wait until we got home to have surgery. But you never know.
  5. As a FYI - submarines are also called boats. Have a great day.
  6. Stuff at Royals private islands are TERRIBLY OVERPRICED!! The water park at Coco Cay is currently at about $130 pp and the Zip Line on Labadee is basically $100 for 1 ride. And don't even start on any of the bungalows in either place. But yes, I think that the other excursions are wildly overpriced also.
  7. On my last cruise it was with some family members so we wanted to get a group photo on one of the dress up nights. One of our party paid for the photos and then just emailed everyone else a copy.
  8. I read that book prior to a trip through the canal back in 2017. It was interesting reading but VERY TOUGH reading. Lots of facts/details made it difficult to get through.
  9. Cruises through the Panama Canal may be SERIOUSLY restricted due to drought conditions in the Panama area. Since the locks depend upon water flow only to raise the ships priority is being given to cargo ships with a more pressing need to transit the locks vice a cruise ship full of sightseeing passengers. RCI has already cancelled several of their PC cruise and changed the itineraries to other locations.
  10. I think that Royal should just do the math and figure out how much everyone including the behind the scenes folks make from the "tips" if everyone paid and then increase their wages accordingly and get rid of the darn "gratuities" that are such a hot topic on any cruise board. People can still tip those front facing people additional if desired.
  11. Think of the ship as a giant teeter totter. As you get closer to the ends you feel more of the (pitching) up/down motion which is why people recommend that you get close to midships or the center of the teeter totter. If you can imagine a tall tree or flag pole blowing in the breeze you will notice that the top has more motion than the base. The is the same on the ship, as you go higher you will feel more of the rolling (side to side) motion than if your cabin is lower or closer to the base.
  12. We did the old locks back in 2017 on the Celebrity Infinity when we went from Miami to San Diego. It definitely was interesting and was on my mothers bucket list.
  13. I wouldn't be to concerned about the negative reviews to much. I was on the Oasis in Mar, 2022 with several family members and we were sailing at about 75% capacity. It didn't seem crowded at all. The only issues I had is that it seemed that they weren't fully staffed after the Covid restart and activities seemed to have very limited hours such as the carousal, zip line, Ultimate Abyss, Rock wall etc. Thye line for the flow rider was VERY long. The Aqua 80 show is NOT to be missed!!!
  14. If you don't have to sail on the biggest and newest ships you can find some semi reasonable prices.
  15. The hallways to the cabins were WIDE!!!
  16. You have been fortunate on the travel insurance issue. I agree travel insurance is a gamble, just like automobile insurance and homeowners insurance etc. On a recent cruise my wife tripped and broke her hand playing miniature golf with 2 grandkids. We thought she was going to have to have surgery in Cozumel when we pulled in and fortunately we had trip insurance which would have paid for the surgery since most US policies won't cover procedures outside the US. The same cruise my DIL forgot her passport (hubby moved it) and they didn't realize it until they got to the pier. She thought she was going to have to miss the cruise and forfeit her money. If they would have taken out trip insurance she would have been able to get her money for the cruise returned. Fortunately she was able to get an aunt to send her a pic of her birth certificate and RC accepted it. Its all a matter of how much risk you can afford, just like in the casino.
  17. I was thinking peppermint schnapps! The sell that at my local Football stadium in the winter.
  18. What company were you insure through? I had an instance where my wife broke her hand and glasses the first night of a cruise and the policy didn't pay to replace glasses or any of her copays from surgery/physical therapy because those expenses happened AFTER out cruise. It's not like I could have gotten the glasses replace prior to returning home or gone through 3 months of PT.
  19. Café Promenade on deck 5, the Dog House on deck 6, Sorrentos pizza on deck 5, Park Café on deck 8 for suggestions.
  20. Ok, Thanks for the clarification. I was hoping that I could move the Celebrity points over to my C&A account. Can't win them all I guess.
  21. I have done an interior on 2 different cruises, 1 a 8 day cruise and the other a 15 day Panama Canal. We were really only in our room to change clothes, shower and sleep so it wasn't a big deal. My last cruise we did an OV balcony and while I did enjoy the balcony we didn't utilize it much as we were exploring the ship I did enjoy it. That being said if the cost is close I would probably do the balcony again but if there was a big difference in price and it meant not doing a cruise this year then I would go with interior.
  22. I was on the Oasis ast March so I know it is outside of your timeframe window but thought I would give you a little hindsight from our trip. I traveled with my son and daughter in law and 2 grandsons aged 4 and 8. I am pretty sure that my son and his wife only needed reservations when the kids were going to be in AO all day. They did this once while mom and dad were cave exploring. Other times it was a drop off type of scenario.
  23. I am sure you will be able to get the sports that you want. I was on the Oasis last MArch during the NCAA BB tourney and they had all of the games on the various TV's. We were sitting outside having drinks one night and the closest TV didn't have the game we desired on and upon asking the wait staff there we were able to get it switched to our desired game.
  24. You really have to try REALLY HARD to fall off your balcony into the water or in the case of the inside balconies onto the deck below. Usually when you hear of someone falling there is copious amounts of alcohol or drugs involved or just being REALLY stupid. As far as jumping if you really want to jump then you have to REALLY try to accomplish that. My son and daughter in law had a central park balcony on the Oasis recently and really enjoyed it. Others like the ocean view balconies and being able to sit out on their balconies, have a drink and listen to the ocean going by.
