What a day☔️💨☔️ Perfect working office day in the sofa🤣🤣🤣 Tasks that needed to be done, thank you weather🤓 I had some work waiting to be done and finished ✔️ So why not just get it done🙃 5h of office time 🕰️ paperwork and emails finished ✔️ Who said a beach day was needed? Around 16.00 my body just turned into a little coma😶‍🌫️😴😮‍💨 It was screaming for a little rest in bed. So I had to take a nap/snooze session🤭 I set the timer on and had company of the tv to just chill and sleep of a few minutes😴 The bed and pillows are very comfortable and good quality😍 Really do appreciate it! Just ask Mr, according to him, he’s married to a pillow dictator🤣🤣 YES, I’m picky on my pillow and I need them to be fluffy and soft. I need them to lean on and rest my body. Otherwise I’m going to walk out of bed as a stiff 90year 🦖 t-rex🤭🤣🤣 When I had my beauty 💤, Mr took a tour in the jacuzzi and pool. He had a good time and was very pleased for a outdoor swim😎☔️ After the swim session, it was time to connect the body and mind to be awake again. It does feel much better to have a little nap when my system just says overload of tiredness, take 5 to reset the system🥰 The rain has arrived in showers off/on/light drizzle. It just started again on a rainy night. Today’s menu was poke bowl 🥣 We are ready for tomorrow⚓️ 😎 She will be on pier 19. It’s a busy day in port tomorrow🙃 Fingers crossed for better weather and a dry sail away😇😎🍹
  2. We have seen this before…….. Oh, 🙌🏻 yes! Didn’t Ft.Lauderdale get the memo?🤔 I asked for blue sky, a little breeze and sunshine ☀️ But your not tackling me😜 We are armed and ready for a walk to Publix🥳 Rain jacket is definitely in our suitcase 🧳 After a shower and change of clothes, it was time to go for breakfast and dinner shopping 🛒 Mr was over the hill and long gone in Publix🤣 (I will give you a trick to ease the search of him🙃 go to the beer section😉) So when you’re ready for checkout, swing by and bring him to the cashier😁 (and the best, he can pay😆) We picked up some fruit, yogurt and OJ for breakfast. And then we decided for today’s dinner menu. Tuna Poke bowl and strawberries for dessert. Easy and delicious😋 My guilty pleasure and weak spot was definitely in my grocery bag😂😂 Nachos and guacamole 🥑 is today’s snacking option🥹 I’m on holiday😍 And a very important thing, some magazines for reading 📖 (sometimes you just need something completely different than you usually read) Time & National Geographic has always different special editions we find nice to read and enjoy onboard ships. ( remember the cat edition🐈🐈‍⬛🐈😎😁)
  3. Shhhh! It’s my secret 🤫 But I tell loud and clear to everyone asking at home: a cruise is the perfect wife vacation🩷🤩😍 and there’s one cruise line for everyone! You just need to pick the correct line for you😇
  4. My sleep on the flight down to FLL gave me some hours of rest and now I have gotten another 4,5-5h in bed😊 So I’m feeling good and ready to get up😇 We are staying at GalleryOne Fort Lauderdale. It’s located by the channel and have a great walking distance to the beach and a publix 5.minutes on foot away. Our neighbour is Galleria Mall. (So last minute shopping is not a problem😅) We have stayed here before several times. It’s not a hotel room, it’s a hotel apartment style hotel. So it’s a separate bedroom, balcony, living room with a kitchen and a bathroom. Containing a dining table area and a sofa area. The kitchen has a fully sized dishwasher, fridge, microwave oven and table ware. Outside you have a swimming pool, fitness Center, restaurant and a water taxi station.
  5. Yes, to make it clear. Im star alliance Gold member and have access to Star Alliance Gold Lounges around the world. This applies due to my status. So it doesn’t matter what class my ticket is for. In EWR we used the United Club lounge by C70-Gates. It’s on the second floor/mezzamin floor. At LHR we used the United Club also. We could have used all of the star alliance locations (SQ Singapore Airlines etc) but we just used the one closest to boarding gate. As a frequent flyer, it’s something I really appreciate. If you don’t have status in Star Alliance or any of the other options, SkyTeam,OneWorld. you can often either buy access in some way, by a single entry fee or via priority pass, Amex card etc.
  6. Good Morning from FLL🤩 A little recap of last night’s adventure🤪 We received a text message from United around 21.45. New aircraft was decided and it was already standing at a gate in EWR🙌🏻 But… it was not cleaned and it needed to be serviced before we could go to FLL. Luckily it was at C83 and we were in C79, so just across from our original flight😊 The aircraft was ready loaded and cleaned up for boarding around 22.40. So a little after 23 ish, we taxied out to the runway✈️ It was an identical B757-200 aircraft, same seats/configuration. So everything was the same. Luckily no downsizing of aircraft or different seat maps. (I know this can makes lots of problems🫠) Flight was uneventful🤣🤣🤣 I can not say if the did a safety demonstration or what type of beverage service they served😝 I was sleeping from the second my body touched the seat and until we had roofing “touch” close up in the window on landing in FLL😅😴😴😴 Our bags were already in FLL. Since connection went smoothly in EWR, they loaded our bags on the aircraft that took off from EWR earlier. (We are not allowed to book that flight, simply due to not enough minimum connection time) But yesterday we could have made it easy🤓 I got a text the second we landed about it. So they were waiting at United luggage service😌 We went straight to Lyft pick up zone and a car arrived for us after 5.minutes. We arrived at our hotel at 02.45. All ready for bed😴😴😴
  7. Final stretch before going to bed! Boarding started around 20.00. Flight is completely fully booked. Lots of big carry-on luggage🫠🫣 Flight is operating on a B757-200. We are seated on 8AB, it’s in United Economy Plus. Lots of legroom, nothing more to say about that😂🙌🏻 Departure time 20.29. What now?🫣(I just want to go to bed😂) Captain announced that the aircraft had 3 notifications for technical support incoming and that they needed to be solved… 2/3 was a quick fix. But we had to expect a 15.min delay out of EWR… 20.50 and we can finally close the door and technical issues solved…. (We thought) 4- Strike, you’re out! The aircraft got grounded🫣🤪🫡🫠 at 21.20 Nr 1 for airlines! Safety, safety, safety and then passenger service. Definitely not what we hoped and wished for😔 The door lock function was not working properly. We sat just by the door and I heard asap that this sound and failure on the door is not a good thing…. I was hoping for the best, but you know the answer…. It needs a bigger service😩🥺☹️ So now we are de boarding the aircraft and waiting for what will happen… The captain and flight deck was hoping for a new aircraft as soon as possible. Fingers crossed for that!
  8. We arrived at 16.00 local time N.Y. It was only 5 persons in front of us in immigration!!!! 🥳🥳🥳 We used the new app MPC for customs 🛃 Worked well and they just opened our passport to have a look in immigration and we walked on in 1-2-3. So this is really something that probably will improve the speed thru immigration for some people😇 Our bags arrived on the belt when we walked down to the luggage area. We picked them up and walked them to domestic transfer. Then it was out to TSA and security check again…. It’s the 3 time today🤪🤪🤪 OSL before our flight -LHR for transfer and then in EWR for our domestic flight…. Yes 🙌🏻 After security check we have some hours to kill before we continue onward to FLL. So it’s time to visit United Lounge in terminal C, the one in 70-gates area. It’s huge, lots of seats and food options! Great 😊 We are starting to feel the time difference😂🫡🇺🇸 I had 2 hours of sleep 💤 before our departure from home. So it really starting to kick in🫠 I was ready for a nap on the plane from LHR, but I just couldn’t get into sleeping mode🥱 Oh, well…. Might set my alarm ⏰ on the phone, just in case we go to sleep now 😴 So we don’t loose our flight ✈️😅
  9. Premium plus United Long haul is the the similar thing as SAS Plus long haul flights/intercontinental we usually fly. The cabin is small and private. A big difference from SAS is a private lavatory for premium plus cabin. That’s really good! SQ, LH, LX etc don’t offer this. We are seated on 21AB, window+isle. We pushed 10.minutes before departure time 12.00. Back to our transatlantic flight service! Yes, off to a great start😂😂😂 The IFE system back in economy didn’t cooperate and after 3 rounds of reboot it still didn’t want to show the safety video. We had everything functional in Premium plus. So they needed to do a old fashioned safety demonstration😅🙃🤭 Not all the crew was excited about this😝🤭 something tells me this is not something they do to often😅 We left out on the runway 12.10. Straight after take off, it was as time for the inflight service to start. We received some almonds but no beverage. After 15.minutes it was dinner/lunch time. No menus or other information before serving started. Today’s options for main course was the offering of chicken or vegetarian pasta. We opted for one of each. Starter was Caesar salad and dessert was cacao truffle. Bread and dressing on the table. Both mains tasted good and were served on real plates. Salad was fresh and crispy. Drinks were not served on our side before after the entire line of seats were delivered food. On the other side, it was coordinating service food+drinks. White wine was a Spanish 🇪🇸 and red wine was a Chile 🇨🇱 Lots of options of non-alcoholic beverages. Juice, soda, water etc. After dinner when they collected the meal trays, they topped up beverages. This flight offers WiFi for a fee and a free option for messages via WhatsApp, iMessage or messenger. You can’t send pictures. But texting works well. Decent option for keeping family and friends updated if needed🤓 Halfway through the flight they walked snacks. Chocolate, chips and nuts. New round of beverages and constantly picking up garbage. Around 1h 15.minutes before landing at EWR it was the second serving of meal. Choice of vegetable risotto or wellington burger. Side salad and drinks. Food tasted okay. The burger wellington was better than the risotto. It had the texture of rice porridge🤭 maybe not my cup of tea🫠 Crew has worked all the way crossing the pond. No downtime for them. So all in all a good product of United Premium Plus. The seat is wider then economy and more recline. Really something we like on long haul if possible. We have tested several airlines in economy plus/premium plus segments on long haul and this is definitely not a bad pick. The crew is not “warmly” in hospitality as SQ or QA. They are in a special league of how to feel welcomed. It’s better than our experience in Polaris from Honolulu to Chicago. But it’s the attention to detail and the feeling of being welcome that lacks a bit. Just an observation and nothing wrong in the hard wares of this flight. IFE system has decent amount of movies and series to watch. The screen is big and clear. All approved for longer flights. We are flying same cabin back to Europe, so we will see how a night flight works out in Premium Plus.
  10. I got a steel of a deal! it’s in USD🤗 it was crazy cheap compared to SAS, Lufthansa etc when I booked flights. So I booked it asap and accepted the transfer in EWR😅
  11. Our boarding started on time 11.15. Our flight is UA017 operated on a B767-300. It’s 3/4-class onboard. Polaris biz, United premium plus, economy more leg room and ordinary economy. Biz is 1-1-1, Polaris Premium Plus is 2-2-2 Eco is 3-3-3 Flight time 7h52m according to captain. Seat is wide and legroom is good. Large IFE screen. Noise cancelling headphones. It’s a pillow and blanket from saks fifth avenue. Amenity kit from Therabody. It contains hand cream, lip balm, socks, sleep mask, cleansing towel for face, earplugs, tissue, toothbrush and toothpaste. Flight is almost fully booked. Some single seats in eco. Rest is fully loaded. Both bags is listed as loaded🙃 Now it’s time to get the last passengers onboard and off we go! next stop EWR
  12. The flight was uneventful, all according to plan. Service in Scandinavia style. A bit bumpy all the way. But Captain said that he would not set the seatbelt sign on permanent, if it kept at this level of turbulence. But please wear your seatbelt and remain seated unless you need to powder your nose…. Crew did service well and everyone was happy🥰 Due to our slot time, we were on the ground 09.12 local time 🇬🇧 UK. Yes, that meant 25.minutes before our scheduled time😅 yes, all good! Transit thru security and United transit desk went quick and we had no lines🥳🇬🇧❤️ Now are we comfy seated in United Polaris Lounge at LHR. Mr did locate a 🍺 beer and a little something for the ducks🤭🦆🦆 Selection of food is breakfast style American and some continental style. Not mega impressed for it. The bar has everything. Drinks, wine, cocktails etc. Full service. Our flight leaves 12.00 to EWR.
  13. So back to travel! This airfare is payed by cash. It’s a SK/UA routing round trip. It was around 1200$ for both of us in economy on short haul and premium economy on long haul flights. (Crossing the Atlantic) It’s 2 checked bags each+ star alliance gold extra bag in our ticket. We started on time in OSL for boarding. SAS is operating today’s flight to LHR on a Airbus319. So a smaller aircraft. Flight has SAS Plus and SAS Go. Departure 07.55am. We Are seated on row 14AC on SAS Go. Food and beverage for purchase. Coffee and the is complimentary. Flight was completely full. So no empty seats. Boarding was completed 10.minutes before departure. Our flight deck came on the PA system and made an announcement: due to air traffic controllers in LHR, we have not received clearance for departure from OSL. LHR are claiming poor weather, but according to weather reports and live cam, it’s no weather alert…. But we are not allowed to leave from OSL until later….😖 approximately 60.minutes🫣 We will try to push through for earlier time…. Oh my! Not a good thing when you have a connecting flight at LHR. Our next flight departs 12.00. So we have some time to linger on. Luckily our flight leaves from the same terminal😇 After 20.minutes the captain announced that we had received an update on our departure time for the better🥳🥳🥳 So we would be taking off at 08.20 and head to London as soon as possible. Fingers crossed for a smooth flight and arrival close to our original arrival time😇 We are now airborne and flying to London🇬🇧 WiFi is functional and free for Star Gold guests. Onboard menu SAS
  14. The last few days has really gotten busy🤣🤪🫣🙈 As you know, our house is due for a major renovation and update to 2024…. Well, it’s suddenly kicked off🤣🤣🤣 Our new windows and balcony doors was expected to be delivered after the Easter 🐣 Well, well…. I have a surprise for you! Friday 15.3: ring ring ring 📞 Hello! This is your window factory…. We are notifying you, that your order is ready and will be delivered on Monday 18.3🤓 Oh, a, iiiiiiik! We need to work this weekend😝😅🔨🔨 Due to our location of our house and our location of the balcony and big windows. It can’t just be delivered. It needs to be lifted upstairs to the balcony and upstairs in our garden area. And we needed the lift to take down the old big windows to the ground…. So it was a hectic weekend preparing for the delivery and installation of the new big windows. On Monday morning we received our new windows and doors… But are things going smoothly? Well, guess what? NO Our delivery was made by a smaller trailer and no lifting arm😑 So they dropped off 1.2tonn of windows and glass doors to us… A lifting trailer could not be there before next day🫥😵‍💫 So it needed to stay the night at our car park and we had to survive another night by our “elegant” plastic windows upstairs in the living room🤭🫡 On Tuesday morning a lifting trailer arrived! Hurrah hurrah🥳🥳🥳 So then our new windows was lifted up and the old ones were taken down. New windows on the balcony was installed (they are not completely installed😝 but they are attached and standing in the correctly position) we will get new wooden frames and everything installed after our holiday. Then will the rest of the outside of our house go thru a major upgrade. New roofing, wooden panels, more insulation and new windows and doors. Typically I had a bigger meeting thing for work on Monday afternoon/evening. So no time to do anything else than work… Tik-tak tik-tak…. We are leaving soon😝 To top it off, Mr Norwaylady had a final home exam on a course at the university in HMS 10.Credits🤓 Hallelujah what a timing😅 Task given out on Monday at 15.00. Deadline for delivery today 09.00am. (He delivered it finished online at 00.30am😴) After the hurricane of demolition and reinstall of windows upstairs, it needed to be cleaned up and made up to normal life. (Not a good timing to have guests😂😂) our friends from Italy 🇮🇹 wanted to come to Oslo during Easter 🐣 They knew we were going on a cruise, but it’s really not a problem to let them stay in our house and pet the cats 🐈‍⬛🥰 Miss Marple & Hannah Hortensia are super happy with this arrangement😍 So then housekeeping needed to do their magic ✨ aka Norwaylady🙃 Mr Norwaylady was looking like a bandit! Ohm, you need a haircut before we leave😵🫣🤭 So multitasking him to the hairdresser, I’m taking the car to be washed and ready to be parked for a while…. (All that salt from the road needs to get off… the salt is eating the 🚗☠️☠️☠️) Running the last errands and packing up our bags. So it was little sleep for me before departure😴 I can hear my sun lounger calling out for me😎☀️✨

  16. The splurge of suite class is not happening on this sailing🤣🤣🤣 El cheapo Norwaylady has decided and is not willing to pay a hefty hefty premium price for a suite this time. (I told you on Edge, not going to happen unless we get a price we want to pay 💰🤣) So we are back to “normal” procedure, Concierge class😎 deck 10. We have the same cabin for our b2b sailing. This was an onboard booking, so we received some OBC and the price was right for us.
  17. So we are now comfortable seated at SAS *Gold Lounges at OSL. Time for some breakfast and coffee before we start our flights for today. Check-in was a breeze. Passport, ESTA and address to our hotel was registered online yesterday and we only needed to pick up our boarding passes, drop off bags and show our passport. This time we are flying SAS and United. We have 2 bags 15+16kg. We are flying OSL-LHR-EWR-FLL. So this means we need to proceed thru immigration and customs in New York/EWR. Not super happy about this, but it was a bit limited availability on flights and a price tag we were happy about…. We have SAS Go to LHR and United Premium Economy on our long haul flight from LHR-EWR. It’s the first time we try United on international flights. So looking forward to see if their international product is better than domestic US flights. From EWR-FLL it’s United domestic flight.

We have sailed on her several times and we have a little crush on her🥰 Our sailing is 10+9.

  21. Looks like your having great time onboard🥰⚓️ I feel the need for sun and vitamin sea💙⚓️💙🙈 it’s been crazy cold since we left for Edge sailing Suez and the snow has fallen heavily down weekly…. So my back isn’t feeling great😝 Tomorrow morning I will go to Svalbard 78’n for work😎 more snow ⛄️ and cold 🥶 weather💙💙💙 But on the fun side, snowmobiling, dogsledding, ice caves… I think I will survive💙🙃🙌🏻💃🏻
