  1. In my Medallion app, we are Green, there is NO mention of "Wellness Check" on the home page. Days until we cruise is 35, for a 7 night cruise from Galveston. Maybe the Wellness check isn't required for our cruise? Doug
  2. Captain invites us to a cocktail party and we have "discounted" drinks? They used to be gratis, or is my memory failing me?
  3. Is that how drinks ordered via the app are made? Not always at the bar in which you happen to be? Interesting, I was not aware of that. But then I have never used the app to order a drink except on our first Medallion cruise years ago before we had the beverage package. It was an introductory deal; one free drink if ordered with the app. I never turn down anything free......😉 Doug
  4. Thanks, that does help. I know what you mean about those two outlets being crowded together, effectively rendering one unusable unless one has skinny male plugs. We bring at least one extension cord for that purpose, and use that in one of those "one-to-many-plug-extenders" <below> for another plug in the cabin, like the ones where the TVs used to be on previous mini-suite cabins. However, you lost me where you said "Just be aware the side of the bed not near the desk does not have any plugs at all." I think you mean that that side of the bed is far away from any plug, right? Not that the other side of the bed had a plug very near? When when wife use a CPAP machine she slept on the side of the bed nearest the TV, so its cord was long enough to use that outlet. I know there is a "European" plug often underneath the bed that many USA citizens here use with a converter, but we have never needed to use that. Generally all we need to charge are a phone (at the end of the cruise), tablet or laptop, and maybe a camera. The USB powered clock is a resent addition. So our needs are very minor, especially since she no longer uses the CPAP machine.
  5. I suppose that's another "cost cutting" measure by the cruise lines....make it impossible to get your "included drinks" on the their overpriced drinks package.😝 I can foresee the popularity of Rum Runners increasing! Oh my..........how things change......sometimes going back to the way it was years ago..... I sure liked the convenience of the drinks packages on our last several cruises, but there is a limit to what we will tolerate, right?😎 Doug
  6. Yeah, that's whey I'd expect also. So either you bring your drink with you to the remote place, or just skip it that time, right? I was happy to read here that using the app we could also order for delivery to our cabin, although I doubt we'd do that more than maybe once per cruise. That would likely quality as a "remote" location I'd think, and for good reason. Doug
  7. Thanks Rick, sounds like I will stick with my usual habit of doing just that! <g> Doug
  8. I have a small clock that uses a USB cord for power. I am hoping that the bedside lamp has a USB outlet I can use. I always bring a power strip with a couple of USB outlets anyway, but it would be more convenient to plug in nearer the bed and of course free up my power strip outlets for other uses. If it makes any difference, we're in a mini-suite on deck 9 (March 2023). Doug
  9. Here's a dumb question, and I don't mean it sarcastically: If one is having drinks in a bar, but not sitting at the bar, is there any advantage to using the Medallion app to order a cocktail? I usually just walk up to the bar myself and order our two drinks. We don't use the waiter/waitresses walking through the bar usually either. But I wonder if most folks use the app: in which case it might be quicker to just continue walking up to the bar....or it might not be.....😆 Doug
  10. I wondered what that was on my account at Princess.com: It showed up a few weeks ago without explanation. We sail the end of March 2023. Pretty generous IMO since we'll likely only have one drink each that first day. I thought I read somewhere that the drink package "value" for which we paid only covered 6 days anyway, so that would be really nice. 😎 After what I've been through with EZ-Air the last 6 weeks I deserve a bennie! Doug
  11. Let's all hope this is how it works. If it doesn't for someone, please report back here! My guess is, as someone stated above, it will work for any credit until it suddenly can only be used for an excursion. Doug
  12. I would like to hear from someone who used that credit for something other than a shore excursion. My TA thought it would actually be "lumped into my non-refundable OBC". But he admitted he did not know. I thought someone here might have experience with a situation such as mine. If we must, we will take some shore excursion to use up that OBC, but I'd much prefer using it for something we want instead. Doug
  13. When I booked our March 2023 cruise late last year, one of the "perks" was a $100 per person "Shore Excursion Credit". That shows at Princess.com along with my Shareholder and Military benefit. I know if not used only the last OBC can be refunded . However, we do not plan on taking any shore excursions through the ship, and I wonder if our $200 can be used for something else, such as the onboard gift shop, specialty dining, etc. I had planned to use that $200 for our airport transfers, but when I booked those my OBC was not deducted and I was told that would be charged to my credit card. So, anyone lately had and used their Shore Excursion Credit for anything other than a Princess tour? My wife already informed me she will gladly burn it up in the casino if we can't find any other way. 😉 Doug
  14. That is a concern, and why I booked our Crown Grill early. However, that's the only meal or tour I will book until we're onboard. I know there is a way to charge the OBC for tours, but I don't feel the need to book tours now. Trust me, we WILL find a way to not leave any OBC with the ship when we depart!😉
  15. Thanks. You are surely correct, but my "personality" will cause us to show up early. I'm one of those people who always add a half hour to ensure I'm early! There's a word for that trait which escapes me right now...... Bad thing is, I know the Princess airport transfer to the ship will leave late, probably arriving at the dock after the lunch in the MDR; we'll have to scramble for a tables at the lido deck or International Cafe. Doug
  16. Roger that, thanks. Makes sense. Actually flight details are there since I use Ez-Air. However, we land Houston the night before. Transfer info on the Princess Travel Summary says to be at the luggage claim area at 1000 to meet a Princess rep. However, I plan to be there NLT 0900!😎
  17. Our cruise from Galveston is the end of March 2023, so I'll wait a couple of weeks and see if I can select a boarding time then. I think it will make little difference however, since we are using the Princess IAH to the ship transfer and the arrival time is not up to me. Doug
  18. My quest continues also.😉 Did you by any chance determine is the "Military Appreciation OBC" is still given by Princess? Doug
  19. When and from where does your cruise depart? Ours is not for almost two months, although the app shows us as "Green".
  20. Anyone know if Princess EZ-Check* is available for Princess Galveston cruises? I know it is in FLL as I've used it, but it's not available in many places. *flight check in, get boarding pass, luggage taken to final destination airport Thanks.
