  1. "3- Walk-in showers (not tub/shower combos) 14- Dedicated restaurant open port day " 3- Is this correct for all cabins? We book HAL for the dedicated tub which my wife much prefers. 14- I though I read somewhere that the only restaurant on port days was the lido buffet? Thanks. Doug
  2. Me too. On our cruise that ended 26 May 2023, I asked the Purser's office about the refundable OBC. I was told it would be credited back to my credit card. However, as of today, about 10 days later, I have not seen a credit..... Or a check. Doug
  3. Thanks, that is good to know. I wonder if that is the case on all ships.
  4. Yes, meant to type HAL not RCI. I'm hoping your experience with the shore excursion OBC is not universal. On a recent Princess cruise I heard as you stated by several people, but also that the excursion OBC could be used for other things. We were fortunate that we could use the Princess excursion credit for specialty dining and ship store items instead as we took no excursions. Since CCL owns both HAL and Princess I was hoping to use any "excursion credit" for something other than an excursion. Doug
  5. Anyone have experience using their RCI OBC "excursion credit" for anything other than excursions? On our recent Princess cruise we had a $200 "shore excursion" credit which we used to purchase items in the ship's store. I hope RCI does things the same way as we rarely take excursions. Doug
  6. FYI: On the Ruby Princess 19 March 2023 I was not able to get one of the old plastic "credit card" type cruise cards unless I gave up my medallion. This was so even when I told the front desk it did not need to work, I just wanted the card for my collection. I did not try to speak to anyone else, never had the time, but I suspect I could have asked the same question of a manager and gotten the card. Doug
  7. FYI: On the 19 March 2023 Ruby Princess I used my "$100 excursion credit" to buy sunglasses. Doug
  8. Ah, but I am not of the fairer sex, and I always wear something with pockets. My wife's needs are taken care of with a lanyard on which she wears her medallion. Doug
  9. I'm not interested in a holder for my medallion unless someone can tell me simply leaving it in my pocket won't lock/unlock the cabin door. I can understand the attraction for some folks, but my needs are pretty minimal. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thank you. Doug
  10. Interesting........and I imagine all the cruise lines use some sort of computer modeling to help them determine the best way to prevent outbreaks. Doug
  11. Sounds like the 5 March sailing went well. I hope the noro-demon can stay off the 12 March 2023 (and following cruises)! My wife and I are on the 19 March cruise. If anyone is on the 12 March 2023 sailing, please post as the kind persons above did for the noro/covid procedures. Doug.
  12. As a 76 year old, 50 year resident of Tennessee, I thank you for your compliment on my adopted state. But I hope my sister doesn't read this, she lives in Oregon!😉 You are quite right of course, each state in our USA is so different. Thank God for the differences, at least the good ones, and the good ones outweigh those not so good usually.😎 Doug
  13. Curious. I know the earlier dates had many Norovirus cases. We're on the 19 March 2023 sailing, so wondering how it's going.......🤔 Doug
  14. I agree with you, I found your information interesting. Plus once one knows the cause of something, correction measures are easier to find. Doug
  15. Amazon has the 85% Purell available also <3/10/2023>. Doug
  16. Thanks much for posting. I'm on the 19 March cruise and I am tracking this sort of feedback. Please update here is your condition changes....and I hope it doesn't! Doug
  17. Croissants on Princess have gotten much, much better in the 30 years we've been sailing. We like to start our cruise day with croissants and coffee on the patio, brought to our cabin at an early hour. If those two are good, the rest of our day will surely be good also.😎 Doug
  18. I saw the same thing yesterday (3/3/2023) for our 3/19 cruise. I wandered around the app and finally found a place to select a boarding time. Since we have a Princess Airport Transfer that time is not up to me....but I selected a time anyway that sounded reasonable. That did not immediately fix things from Blue again to Green....but opening the app about 30 minutes later we were again Green. Flaky app, what can I say? I'd not worry about it. As others have said, show up at the check in with passports and other pertinent docs (like a Travel Summary) and you will surely get on the ship. Doug
  19. I'm going on what I've seen on the videos of the MA cabins on deck 12 of the NCL Breakaway. Hopefully they are accurate. I've found, as have many others, not everything we find on the internet is accurate, however.😒 I use this site a lot for cabin videos....just got to be careful how old they are, especially if the ship has had an "update" since the video's date. I viewed four or five videos of MA cabins on deck 12. Those all did show a bathtub in the head. My wife prefers a bathtub over any shower. I sure hope those MAs do have a bathtub, as that's the only reason I booked deck 12!😎 Doug
  20. Yes, as far as I can tell, none of the MAs on deck 13 had a bathtub nor a connecting door. We were in 13820 March 2022. Very nice cabin, especially since it was our first cruise after canceling several from the Chines virus. It sure felt good to be on the water again! My wife prefers a bathtub over any shower, even the nice large ones that NCL has in their "mini-suite" cabins. So, we're booked on deck 12 as of yesterday!😎 Doug
  21. Thanks, that is a good point. I had not thought about those family suites. I did more research, and it APPEARS that the MAs on deck 12 have a bathtub, which my wife finds irresistible...so that may end this discussion once I tell her that!😉 Doug
  22. We're looking at deck 12, the MA cabins. Nearly all are connected to the cabin next door. We tend to avoid those. Deck 10 has many MB cabins that are not connected; seems odd to me. A lesser category, with what I perceive as a benefit, although I realize many want connected cabins. We don't see much difference in deck 10 or 12, so I wonder if the category difference is simply deck 12 is higher than deck 10. Often cruise lines think that is a benefit. Some of us don't care as long as all other factors are equal. 😎 Does anyone know of any differences in the deck 12 and deck 10 Club Balcony cabins? It appears both decks have the same size balconies. Doug
