  1. We were on same 4/16-4/23 cruise on the Oasis, we had the drink package too, about 50% of the timer we were given a slip in the bar to sign.

If I had to go to the bar and get my own drink, I would put a line through the "tip" and "total" section and sign it. That way, if there is a question I can ask them to show me the signed slip.

If I sat at a table and the server brought the drinks, I always left a $1 extra.

  2. This goes to the "tipping" question. Everyone passenger has to pay daily gratuities. This gratuity covers, stateroom attendant and dining staff. When you buy a drink, 18% is automatically added. You do not need to tip anymore if the service is not above and beyond what's expect. I never feel pressured to tip extra onboard.

  3. I can't vouch for all the stateroom attendants, but in our last 5 sailings on the Oasis since Thanksgiving 2016, all our attendants have been great and each have fulfilled our requests without fail and promptly.

Granted, we were in suites and we keep our cabin neat and tidy just like we do at home.

  4. Thanks for all the replies, we are sailing in a Crown Loft and really looking forward to spending time in both the SL and Coastal Kitchen. Should we try to make our CK reservations via email before the cruise or wait until we board. We sail May 7th.

You will not be able to make Coastal Kitchen reservations until you get onboard. My suggestion is to go to Coastal Kitchen as soon as you board the ship and speak to the manager or hostess. You should not have any problems getting the time slots you want.

If you have any other questions let me know. We know the Oasis very well.

  5. I agree, irregardless of what type of cabin and C&A status, you should still receive excellent service and food at any of the Specialty Restaurants. If you are not happy with either, speak to the restaurant manager. Before you leave.

  6. We are on the Oasis now, in a Star Suite too, excellent service everywhere, Coastal Kitchen, Chops, 150 Central Park. I would talk to your Genie or Chops' manager. That's the only way service will improve.

  7. The majotity of the suite/zenith luggage was in the staging area. No one was exiting for long periods of time.

If in a hurry, I suggest you pay the staff to take your luggage or use luggage valet (which I hadn't heard being offered in PC).

Luggage valet is expected to depart at 8:am and you must fly out of MCO. If flying Southwest, flight must be between noon and 6pm.

    Participating airlines are

    Alaskans Airlines

    American Airlines

    Delta domestic flights only

    jet Blue

    Southwest

    United

Luggage Valet is offered on the Oasis.

  8. Thanks Bob, I just sent an email to them to change the time if possible. As it stands now, it's pickup at 8:45 leave by 9. We are in a GS, so we should get right thru security , again.....fingers crossed !

Last February, when we were in a Sky class suite, our priority disembarkation took 15 mins from ship to curbside.

  9. We have been through MCO from Port Canaveral four times in the last year. If we had a flight before noon, we would self disembark around 7:30 and catch the 8:00-8:15 shuttle. That way, we would not stress about traffic or TSA lines (which could be long on Sundays from all the tourist flying out).

We have used Cortrans 3X and they have always gotten us to MCO on time.

  10. We are on the Oasis in two weeks too. We received our first communication from our Genie about 6 weeks ago and since then, we have emailed back and forth 2-3 times. We have received all our reservations and instructions on embarkation.

  11. I can only say that on our Thanksgiving (2016), Christmas (B2B, 2016), Feb (2017) cruises on the Oasis, were GREAT. But then, we only eat at Coastal Kitchen or Specialty Restaurants. We learned long ago to forego the MDR as we want to enjoy our vacations and not be frustrated with MDR food or service.

Most of the staff onboard were really helpful and friendly. But, I do know most of the staff in CK will be leaving by April.

We will be sailing on Oasis again in April and I look forward to enjoying this cruise again!
