  1. I think someone else posted that the ship is being held back at sea with the current passengers, so the crew gets no reprieve.
  2. Yes you will have to pay it. The ship is not part of your country's health care system. Check your credit card to see if it provides any coverage. The same would happen if you required care in the US.
  3. When someone brings kids to the late show the comedians do the adult material anyway and often target the parents of those kids. Who deserve it. I have been on cruises where the comedian repeats 75% of the show from one day to the next and others where they don't. More often they do. Some will tell you at the end of the first day's show.
  4. My cruise on Anthem offered digital. Whether they have the displays or not, the photos are taken with digital cameras so I don't know why they wouldn't offer it... same original.
  5. Read posts 7 and 11. They were able to give useful information without your random preaching. My response was to your post, I can do that. As you apparently can too, since none of your posts were to the OP.
  6. LOL - look who's talking. Hallways aren't parking lots. "I really hate it when an abled body person starts preaching to a person about how to use a mobility device" - RANDOM PREACHING
  7. Yes, because you have to bring it through customs before it can leave the terminal. There might be a drop off point, but you still have to get it at least that far. Though I did a tour in San Juan (post cruise) that took us to the airport. We brought our bags to a drop off point where they were put on a truck... then when we got to the airport they were just laid out by the curb (great security!).
  8. Leaving the scooter in the hallway is a hazard regardless of whether the other poster knows if it fits through the doorway or not.
  9. At least he's getting Coke Zero... not going to let himself go.
  10. Be prepared at least daily to hear some derisive "joke" about Carnival, usually by someone who's never sailed with them. Gets old fast.
  11. My experiences are pre-covid. I found the NCL entertainment better than carnival, with the exception of comedy shows which Carnival excels at. I liked the dining room food on ncl better than carnival, but the carnival's buffet better where you can always get a deli sandwich freshly made. Better comfort food in general. O'Sheehan's on ncl is a big plus, pub food available day and night (never tried late night), Ncl has nothing comparable to a ship on a stick... but no one in a pirate costume will impose on your dinner either. Carnival gets a younger partying crowd which, to me, translates to some serious people watching opportunities. Overall NCL is a little quieter and likely to have more bells and whistles.
  12. You're "ahead" because you get so many water bottles... talk about a profit center for the ship.
  13. Agree. Going to the post office for passport renewal is like going to a "driver's license renewal" business. They do some of the paperwork for you but it still gets mailed to the state department and gets processed like other renewals.
  14. And I am happier if I only spend $600 for all the drinks I want than if I spend $700 for the same thing.
  15. The difference is that one can anticipate the cost of drinks compared to buying a drink package while your other examples are not as quantifiable. If I anticipate buying 4 drinks per day at a total cost of $60, I can compare that directly to the cost of the drink package. There is no intrinsic value to paying, for example, $200 more per person for a beverage package compared to buying $420 per person in OBC or setting the money aside to be paid later. Add in another $100 for margin and you still are better off.
  16. You have to start with knowing what coverage you already had. Usually that's just medical.
  17. If it's a 5 nighter with stops at Labadee and Coco Cay, the per day is going to be at the upper end of the price scale since you can use it off the ship as well. And it being easier to drink heavily for 5 days straight compared to 7.
  18. I wouldn't buy the drink package. Why would I - so I can "save money" on an additional 5+ bar drinks each and every day?
  19. Case in point: there's a person posting on this thread who claims they get 5 free drinks per day due to their past cruising status, uses none of them, but buys a drink package and uses that.
  20. Don't they still have free maps either at the tourism booth at the dockyard or at the square in st Georges?
  21. The cruise line doesn't respect you because they allow people to dine in shorts. And will continue to do so. Respect.
  22. Best I've seen in the past six months is the equivalent of 25% off of "full price", whether it be a straight 25% off or buy one get one 50% off. It really doesn't vary that much.
