Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Because of postings here on the Princess board last July, we learned of and were able to take advantage of this program offering last year and booked the March 2025 32 day South America itinerary with the same generous OBC and a Captain's Circle early launch discount as communicated in this very helpful thread. Thank you to the OP of this thread for posting about the 2025/2026 South America program. My question is this - does Princess offer this type of early booking program (generous OBC and CC early launch discount) for any other programs or just for the South America program? If yes, how do we find out about any other program offerings? We are signed up for Princess promotional emails, but do not receive them very often.
  2. I should add that we have been to Alaska in early May, middle May, later June, end of August, and early September, and the middle of September . Mid-May is our favourite time as there is still snow on all the mountains which is beautiful to see, the day time temperature is often comfortable for outdoor activities as it has started to warm up, and it is not the rainy season yet.
  3. We have done Alaska with Celebrity four times, NCL two times, and Royal Caribbean one time. With the above cruises we have been to Hubbard Glacier, Tracy Arm fjord, and Glacier Bay. While Celebrity does not go to Glacier Bay, they do go to Hubbard which is an amazing site. Being really honest, I personally was a little underwhelmed with Glacier Bay considering all the hype it gets. Whichever cruise line you decide on, we would definitely recommend that you sail out of Vancouver rather than Seattle and I am not just saying that because I live in Canada. Not sure of which cruise line your TA is thinking about that leaves from Victoria. I can’t think of one that does… In case it helps, there is both a train and a bus service that connects Vancouver and Seattle if you want to fly in and out of Seattle.
  4. So he can find it quickly, the station is in the back of the OVC on the starboard side at what is the pizza station other times of the day.
  5. Just off 26 days on the Millennium. Yes, in the OVC in the mornings there is a poached eggs, Bennie’s made to order station.
  6. In case it impacts your decision, in past years Major Marine has offered a 40% discount on tours booked over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend.
  7. We are just off the Millennium. We were on the ship on a B2B for 26 days. We too experienced day of changes for the MDR dinner menu. For example, lamb t-bone was on the menu in the App up until the actual day it was to be served. Then that item was substituted for roast lamb. Roast lamb was served several times on each the 14 days and 12 days sailings. Note - the night of the switch the roast lamb was only available medium or medium-well. We learned during the two cruises to not depend on the MDR dinner menus posted in the App to make decisions ahead of time about our dinner appetizer, main course, and/or dessert choices.
  8. Yes, they have. However, these table numbers have been consistent since May when we were last on the Millennium. We are also on the September 30 sailing and the table numbers are not changing. FWIW.
  9. On the Millennium now. Tables 172 and 173 are two-top tables that are on their own at the back at the aft windows. 174 is a four-top table they will seat two at nearby. None of these three tables are directly next to other tables. High demand for all three...
  10. We are currently on the 14 day Trans-Pacific Millennium sailing and I just went through and compared the various daily supper menus between your sailing and ours. For the most part, your menus do look like they have more variety of choice than ours do. As well, we have no offering of any "Sides".
  11. Yes, so far the menus in the App are correct for our 09/15 Trans-Pacific cruise on the Millennium. We are only on day 3 though:) For our cruise, the actual menus for the 14 days were not loaded into the App until during the night of Sept 14th/early morning of the 15th. The menus themselves are definitely not as good as they were when we were on the Millennium for 14 days in May.
  12. On the Millennium right now. Hope you like mashed potatoes...
  13. Just purchased a Book Later today on the Millennium. It is good for 6 months.
  14. Just for clarification, when I add up the above numbers for gratuities/fees in a non-haven and divide it by 7, I get $69.25 per day, not $89.25 per day. As well, the drink gratuity and the specialty dining gratuity (for 2 specialty meals) that are listed above are for 2 people, not for 1 person. On NCL, the drink package gratuity is $21.80 pppd ($152.60 for 7 days) and the 2 meal specialty dining package gratuity is $19.80 pp. Over 7 days, the math works out for me to $44.63 pppd, not $89.25 pppd. But maybe I am missing or misunderstanding something?
  15. Thank you for the caution about potential price increases. The cruises we are looking at are in 2025, so that certainly is a risk to be aware of between now and then.
