  1. Greg, I have had several neighbors cruise Princess and they have told me that they are the youngest guests on the ship, and they are in their sixties. Have you noticed that most of the guests are.....aged (trying not to be rude)? They have also told me that the ship closes up about 7 pm because everyone goes to bed. Any truth to this on your cruise? I have cruised only Carnival for the past several cruises because of the evening activities and in my opinion, Carnival has the best lunch choices. Your review is great, and I am thinking I should maybe check into pricing a Princess cruise. By the way, I am kind of old myself.
  2. jsglow, thank you for reporting this information. I was booked on the Dec 2 and wondered how the FCC was going to work. I have two booked for 2024 and maybe will apply the credit to one of them. Once I get the refund posted to my credit card, I will have a credit balance and will need to either request a refund check OR charge a payment to my existing bookings.
  3. We stayed at the Town Place Suites in Dec 2019. It was a bit away from the port but an easy Uber ride. We arrived the day before our cruise and walked to Jimmy's on the Pier for dinner, walked out on the pier and walked back to the hotel. Sat around the fire pit area at the Courtyard talking with other guests in the evening. The Courtyard & Town Place Suites share a pool, so it is a large outdoor area. The next morning, we enjoyed the breakfast that Town Place offers and took a walk down to the ocean. It was a nice location but back then there was not a lot of places to walk for food. I only booked it because I found a great rate online for the one-night stay.
  4. Someday I have got to try bingo. It seems to be a fan favorite. Is it really as fun as it looks?
  5. I say GO FOR IT!! Where else are you going to sign up for a cooking class? Just walk out your cabin door and in moments be at the class. Sounds like a great time. Be sure to post a few pictures for us.
  6. Have you two ever stayed at an all inclusive resort? If so, thoughts? Someday I would like to, but I think we would be bored. One thing I love about cruising is that everyone is on vacation having fun. The laughing, smiles and happiness just flow all around the ship.
  7. I was on the Radiance in Sept. of this year. I brought along a magnetic hook so I could hang a decoration on the outside of our door. Work perfectly the whole trip. The best thing is my husband ALWAYS could find our cabin! He never remembers the cabin number so this helped him.
  8. YIKES, I cruise December 7. I sure hope there is plenty of time to figure out the situation.
  9. I see it now. Yes, those balconies do look much larger and that does look like a really nice cabin location, enjoy!!
  10. WOW, what a choice to make. I have been on both and both are AWESOME!! At this point for me, I feel like the Magic is going Carnival old school and Vista is new. Either choice, a WIN. Have fun.
  11. Question for illbcruzn4life..this may sound like a dumb question BUT what is "balcony on the hump on 14"? I have booked cabin 16248 on the Jubilee for December 2024. I threw a dart and landed on this pick. I sure hope we are happy with this location as we really like staying on Lido deck. Thoughts anyone?
  12. Only Lido balcony for me. Love, love walking out the door, down the hall and out to the Lido deck. Someday, I think I may have to be more flexible because retirement is knocking and I still want to cruise and still have money.
  13. Yikes, I would be a nervous wreck. Not worth the worry for me. I have booked a 1:40 pm flight out of Long Beach in December. Yes, we will get to the airport way too early BUT I will be able to sleep the last night of the cruise not having to worry about docking time. We always carry our luggage off so we pack the morning of debark because we are in no hurry. Of course, we are out of the cabin by 8:30 am. Last December we took our time on debark morning and still arrived at LGB early. We were not so early that we could not check our luggage. After we turned over our bags, we walked round the outside of the airport, sat outside and people watched. Lucky for us, it was a sunny day.
  14. We have had dinner twice at Ji Ji's, Dec 2019 Vista and Dec 2022 Panorama. Vista was a great experience, Panorama not so much. I think it was just our experience. I had booked a 5:30 pm seating on the Panorama and arrived at 5:30 pm sharp. There were guests already seated and all the window tables were full. One window table that was able to seat four had a single. Since all the window tables were full, we were seated at a table where I looked at the wall behind my husband's head. The service was not great but I think I was already disappointed in our seating and so it goes. We are on the Panorama Dec 2023 and maybe will try Ji Ji's again but are considering trying the Italian restaurant. We take a December cruise because it is our anniversary. If we do book Ji Ji's, I will arrive way before 5:30 pm to get the table I desire.
  15. This is some funny sh..!! I do agree that the holidays are shoved down our throat's way too soon.
  16. It's pretty fun to cruise during the Christmas season. Christmas sing Along's in the atrium, the grinch at the afternoon show on the last sea day, Santa visiting in the atrium and many cabin doors decorated with Christmas decor. Last December we were on the Panorama and really enjoyed the evening that Santa was coming to the atrium and so many families and couples were dressed up for pictures by the huge Christmas tree with Santa. It was such a joy to watch the happiness on the guests faces. The fun squad passed out jingle bell bracelets for all of us to shake and sing at the top of our lungs. I highly suggest to packing some type of Christmas clothing item. Even if it is just Christmas socks with shorts!
  17. My vote, GREAT IDEA! If only I could do this. Hubby and I tend to visit the same bars over and over because we just have such a great time.
  18. This is a good question. Yes, where is it? Dec 2022 Panorama, we decided to avoid it all and just jumped in the cab line to Long Beach airport. Never doubted our decision. Nice cab driver and arrived at the airport quickly. Sailed the Radiance Sept 2023 but drove from Vegas to Long Beach and parked in the garage. We arrived at 8am (way early) but we got a parking space on level one and did not need to use the elevator. Got in line as we had 10am-10:30am check in. Visited with all the other early birds and about 9:45am, the doors opened and in we went. Checked in and seated until about 10:45am, when A01 & A02 were called and we never stopped walking until on the ship. When the cruise was over, we carried off the ship and to our vehicle. Out of the garage about 8am. It was a very pleasant experience. We are flying into Long Beach Dec 2023 for Panorama and have not yet decided to use taxi or Uber for our trip back to the airport after the cruise is over. Waiting to hear about your experience.
  19. One sentence posts are 100% fine with me...I love this kind of live! Pictures and short commentary. Please continue.....
  20. I am on the May 16 sailing, so I sure hope things are settling in. Oh well, even if not I will have a great time. Can't wait! Airline tickets and hotel the night before, booked. I'm ready.
