  1. Anyone having problem with Holland America website?
  2. Anyone knows anything about the 4 VH cabins on Eurodam?
  3. The ship docks right into Old Montreal, just walk off the ship, and you are on rue De la Commune, right in the Old City…. Have a great trip
  4. This may have been asked before but I cannot find an answer to my question: Do obstructed view (HH) deck 4 window cabins on Oosterdam have a fridge? Thanks as always for sharing your knowledge.
  5. We did FLL to San Diego return (32 days) in Feb. 2020 on the old Rotterdam (just before pandemic shut everything down) and it was one of our favorite cruises!!!
  6. Lower level of the dining room is specifically designated for any time dining and HAL also knows in advance how many of their guests opted for any time dining. A little planning in the dining room would go a long way to alleviate any unpleasant long wait,
  7. All your reviews are very interesting. We did an 11 days Caribbean in Nov. on Rotterdam and we did not enjoy our experience of the Pinnacle class. We have always enjoyed the HAL experience because we always felt that, although extras were available, we did not have to fork extra cash to enjoy our cruise (ie specialty dining, cabanas, Club Orange, SPA, etc…) Our Rotterdam experience has left us feeling that, like with many other mainstream cruise lines, you had a bare minimum cruise unless you paid extra for food and services… that was a bit disappointing to us… We prefer the smaller ships that still offer a better overall feel of space, and attentive service, and of course the wonderful promenade deck with its teak steamer style lounge chairs all around…
  8. So you are saying that if you choose one of the dining options offered by Holland, ie “anytime dining” you choose to have bad service and long delays? I would beg to differ and say that passengers who choose any time dining deserve the same attention and service as all other passengers…
  9. Sorry for all the upsets my initial question caused! I was just curious as to why the ports had changed. For my DH and I, the ship is our destination. Ports of call are just a nice break from the ship…. Everybody needs to «STAY CALM AND BE HAPPY » Happy sailings to all and again thank you for your inputs… this Board is full of knowledge and a treasure place of information! 💐❤️
  10. Anybody has an opinion on why ports of call in Rhode Island and in Bar Harbor have been cancelled on the upcoming Ft Lauderdale to Montreal Zaandam itinerary? Rhode Island is being replaced with Portland, and Bar Harbor is replaced by a day at sea.
  11. Holland America has had the « Have it all » promotion for a long time now… When and what do you think the next promotion will be? I am waiting for a reduced deposit promotion to book a 2024 cruise. (not attached to the Have it All)… thanks for your input
  12. The staff on cruise ships already word harder than most other jobs, having to work for (on average) 6 months at a time, for 12 hrs a day, 7 days a week, without the security of being re hired when their contract end after 6 months; so in your opinion, how do you define “willing to work hard”. As for “train them on ships alongside existing staff and dont pay them full pay while training” I would remind you that the biggest problem cruise lines have to live with right now is recruiting… People who worked on ships pre pandemic remember how cruise lines let them down during the pandemic and how they often were left stranded on ships, without any pay, for months before being able to go home. Cruise ships have to regain employees confidence and more so their loyalty to the brand…. And your suggestion certainly will not help achieve that… so while cruise lines work on those issues of recruitment , training and loyalty, we, the passengers must remain kind, patient, and very respectful of those that are willing to leave their homes and families for 6 months or plus at a time, in order to pamper us…. Those are my thoughts on this subject.
  13. If there are protest signs and demonstrations at cruise ports, there should be some at airports too…. But maybe protestors do not want to protest at airport since flying is their mode of transport from one demonstration to the other!!
  14. That is really helpful info. Thank you so much
  15. We really enjoyed it. Funnily, the balcony cabins still have the old shower in the bath but the ocean view on deck 3 (Promenade deck) had been updated.
  16. We were recently on the Volendam, and on Promenade deck, the baths had been replaced by nice, new, modern showers… anyone knows if the same is true for the Zaandam?
  17. You can only access WIFI through the Navigator… good luck trying to do it without Navigator
  18. The Navigator app is needed on the ship for many things including buying and using internet, checking your account, booking specialty dinners, etc
