  1. If memory serves 30 minutes or so. No immigration was required. We had an independent tour and didn’t have any issue.
  2. I’m currently using my iPhone. Problem solved.
  3. Who told you 1-2 hours? We didn’t experience that. We did have friends skip that stop last year due to bad weather. They received a credit from the tour operator but no refund.
  4. According to their FAQ online (but that doesn't mean it is current or correct based on their attention to detail online) Guests 21 years and older may bring Wine and Champagne onboard, however a corkage fee of USD $20.00 (which is subject to change without notice) will be applied to each bottle (max 750 ml in volume or less). Limitations apply. Wine brought in quantities deemed to be excessive by the vessel or security will be refused.
  5. This reminds me of questions asked on an airline loyalty thread about non status friends using a status members perks. Then, as weeks go by, the original person is complaining about all of the non status folks in front of them or the long line to access the lounge. If everyone with a status/priority brings a friend (or two), eventually it waters down the perks you have earned/paid for.
  6. I bring adapters and use the European plugs
  7. Well at least I know when then jack my service fees up this year it goes to a worthwhile cause.
  8. Apparently a large bank or banks. My parents on onboard now.
  9. Not sure how it will help on Rotterdam 😃
  10. I'm guessing a total of 5000 cruise nights (maybe I am high on that number) replied to this thread they have never seen a 4* or 5* line at guest services but they were all confused. Thank you for unconfusing them. How will we ever be able to trust any information they share on the forums again? Fingers crossed all of the new signs arrive from the printer in time for your cruise tomorrow!
  11. They publish these itineraries 2 years in advance? I'm pretty sure they don't have an have a plan A and then publish Plan B to get bookings and switch to the Plan A.
  12. https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/dining/club-orange.html
  13. In my experience you will receive refunds for prepaid items and then start from scratch. My gut tells me you will not benefit for all of the work involved. But my guy also tells me to visit the Dutch Cafe multiple times a day for treats, so it’s not exactly trustworthy.
  14. I’ve had luck with my VPN on Rotterdam but only during periods of low usage (2am for instance)
  15. Don’t be surprised. Too many people sharing the secret sauce in forums 😄
  16. Thats the only way to find out....give them a call. Yes I do have experience with this, but I mostly let my TA do the calling. You do have to pay the CO fees in advance to obtain the upgrade. OP - I would and have chosen the combo trip. Interesting fact, Rotterdam skipped their overnight in Reykjavik this past weekend due to rough seas.
  17. I’ve had them cancelled for me and they go on as non refundable OBC. You can cancel a pre-purchased shore excursion and receive that value back as refundable. I’ve done that too. In fact I’ve had one cancelled that was half HIA credit, half cash. It went back as 2 line items one refundable and one non refundable. You skipped over specialty dining. Those have a dollar value. Would those be expected to be refunded?
  18. Is this graphic recent? I was under the impression that Elite no longer included unlimited zero proof beverages (the quench package). If this is true I’m going to have to increase my daily alcohol training for my June 2024 cruise. I was in training for 10 alcohol drinks a day.
  19. OP never mentioned HIA. As much as this groups loves to state how wrong the telephone customer service agents are when they provide wrong info about anything on a daily basis, it amazes me how quickly we forget and then twist this into something that is now possibly true when there was no mention of HIA and the info came from notoriously wrong telephone agents. Do you actually believe they will refund HIA shore excursion credits that are unused? How about if you don’t drink any drinks on 1 or more days? Unused HIA specialty dining? All that said, I would LOVE to be wrong.
  20. Oh the things you can think of when you don't have the problem staring you in the butt...so to speak. Bring a bucket of it to Guest Services Drop some off in the Neptune Lounge Bring a bucket of it to the MDR Rinse your bucket out in the Pool I'd have more photos of me with that filth all around the ship than my iphone would hold. They may not listen to one unhappy couple but they would listen to 1000. A private, sterile bathroom is a bare minimum one would think. There is 0 chance of enjoyment, no matter what was spent on a vacation, with a pre-loaded toilet.
  21. I can't help with the answer but isn't the OP asking about this?
  22. I purchased a gift set last year for my Dutch father which included the beans and 2 cups. My wife kept the cups and my father is too lazy to grind the beans. If I can’t convince him to do that soon I will send you a message!!
  23. If you call the airline and tell them you want to cancel your return ticket what would their cancellation penalty be? Personally, I would cancel the transfer and spend my entire vacation trying to nickel and dime my $58.50 back on the ship - (complimentary bathrobe or 7, a few bread plates)
