Instead of saying it is too soon for the OP to cruise, why not offer reassurance and any helpful advice you might be able to offer?  That's what I would want if I was in Flamin- June's situation.

I did reassure the OP in my post, i.e. that we have had no problems cruising and they should check the testing requirements for the cruise they taking as testing requirements vary.

  2. If the OP is really that stressed about the upcoming cruise, it may be too soon to go on a cruise.   We have been on three cruises on Seabourn since July 2021 and the pre boarding issues are now much less than they were in the summer of 2021.   Your ports for the cruise will determine any additional requirements I.e., no test, self test, or supervised test.

  3. The moderator should rename ,e this thread.   Passengers not washing or sanitizing their hands is not an Apex sanitation issue!!   It’s an ignorant passenger issue and they sail on all ships and lines.
Herad many passengers say they are allergic to the hand sanitizer.   You have to take care of your own health and assume everyone has filthy hands who eat in the buffet.

  4. Just booked a return flight to IAD ( Washington Dulles) in December.   Booking with United directly was $500 cheaper and it’s a non stop flight.    With the savings we can get our own car to the Barbados airport.   You need to check the prices before booking with Seabourn Flightease.   The price with United also included insurance.

  5. We were on the QM2 in Dec 22.    She is not a new ship but we found it to be in excellent condition.   There are a few cosmetic issues but nothing that would disappoint or ruin a trip.   The Queens Grill was better than ever, Osman runs a great restaurant.

  6. Of course none of those other lines have ever had issues in the Antarctic!   Things break on ships, nothing is guaranteed to run perfectly, just ask the ships engineer.    At least Seabourn hasn’t had an accident this season, look at Viking, Silverseas and Quark.    I am glad they are being safe and have not killed any passengers.    We were on the Venture in September and saw the Captain every day.    The ship was run in a safe manner.

  7. What are the cutbacks and why is Carnival targeting Seabourn?     We have been on three cruises with Seabourn since the pandemic and there were no cutbacks.   No luggage tags or boarding passes sent to your home existed before the pandemic.    The restaurant being closed at times, especially in port, happened before the pandemic.    We had good and bad service in the restaurant before the pandemic but only good after the pandemic.   I don’t see any plot to downgrade Seabourn except in the dress code and that is being demanded by the same passengers moaning about cutbacks.

  8. We were assigned one as a guarantee a while ago.   We are both tall and found many areas of the cabin inaccessible to us.   The area to hang clothes left our clothes on the floor and no room for shoes.   The roll in shower forced me to shower in the spa or flood the bathroom.    We had no tub.   There was a dangerous ramp out to the balcony.   If you did not fully open the balcony door, the ramp was at a 90 degree angle and caused us to trip and fall at least once leaving us with large bruises but fortunately no broken bones.   Be very careful in accessible rooms.

  9. SLSD, Financial distress by CCL cannot be the problem as Cunard is also under that umbrella.   Why Cunard is performing so much better in the food area is really a puzzle.   It is so much better than before we were blown away.   The menus outside of the top restaurants were also wonderful and not much different, except for limitless ala crate options, than the top tier restaurants.   Everyone we spoke to was extremely happy with the food.   The only complaint onboard was the very bad internet.

  10. No priest or minister was on board on our last Easter cruise pre COVID.   There has always been a rabbi and he offered services on Friday and at Friday dinners in the main restaurant.   Nothing was available for Christians.   Can’t speak about service for Christmas but they did have Christmas decorations up until after 1/6 as many in the crew were Greek Orthodox.
