  1. I've sailed all four Carnival ships from Galveston in the last 5 months. (Dream X2). The Breeze was O.K., as expected. The Jubilee is a beautiful new ship, lots of space, (Except in the casino), but too big for me. The Vista is/was needing a drydock. I would not hesitate to repeat (If it still ported Galveston). The Dream is my favorite by far, especially since they brought their staffing back up.
  2. If you happen to receive a red card at embarkation, guest services will print you a gold card. This has happened to me in the past.
  3. Just off the BREEZE a couple of weeks ago. Brought home around $1000 from the slots, $700 from roulette. Not normal, but welcome.
  4. My "go to" from Guys is plain patty, no bun, a little mustard and catsup. Double fries, about a tablespoon of chili over the fries, TWO funship specials.
  5. Our group of 7 included 2 Diamonds and 1 Platinum in 2 cabins, Oct 28 Vista. We never got invites to the P & D party. We didn't realize till the night before debarking. Now I wonder if they had it at all. We did have a Diamond luncheon, which the Granddaughters really enjoyed.
  6. This happened to us last week. Myself with older daughter and one grand in one cabin, My wife, Son in law and two grands in cabin next door. We had two muster stations on different decks. I was told if you need a life jacket and muster station, they are not gonna be that picky. We made a game of it when we first boarded. Last person to the Lido mid elevators after mustering had to buy everyone else a Guys Burger (with double fries). I lost. After lunch we went to the Pursers desk to get more room keys.
  7. I have cruised in 4 Deluxe Oceanview cabins since Cooties. If more than two in the cabin, this is great. Bath and a half, lots of room. Sleep in after a long night of cruising without the big fireball in the sky to sunburn your eyeballs first thing in the afternoon.
  8. I just pulled it up and it shows available. 8 day out of Miami. Maybe try again?
  9. Behind the Fun on the Dream: The Brig door had the appearance of a jail door from an old western movie, and as stated before, they would not let us peek inside.

    Can I

We have been told, and noticed, the cabin is ready when your S&S card is in the mailbox (After 1:30). Dropped off items should be placed in the closet. As mentioned before, you should have a Carnival luggage tag on anything you drop off. We have a Carnival luggage tag on anything we carry and could set down before reaching the cabin. Forgetting a carry-on in the Lido dining room or bar can be a big headache.

    Can I

Embarkation, Tender at tender ports, Purser's desk, Debarkation. Those perks are hidden from the non-perk pax by gathering in a location other than stairwells and elevator bays. The front of the line generally isn't seen by those who aren't gathered.
  12. If we could all get along, who would click on anything ? Where would the haters go who have something to say about anything and everything? Tipping? Smoking? Gambling for free cruises? Quality, quantity or consistency of food? Weather? Embarkation? Debarkation? Price of, or abuse of alcohol? Robust debate is what drives us all here.
  13. About a month ago, Carnival Dream, Galveston TX, was directed to the casino bar, second day. The casino bar took about 3 minutes add my two roomies to Cheers.
  14. I printed all the documents. the boarding pass "Arrival time" and "Boarding group" both show "TBA". We are Diamond so it may not matter. The question was not asked during the process.
  15. Me Too, Me Too. Never had this occur before. I'm not real worried about it though.
  16. Personally, I have not purchased a coke product in 30 years. I no longer need a second suitcase for my Pepsi. To each their own.
  17. One time I had a Carnival luggage tag (like we print for checked luggage) laminated and fixed to a lanyard. The joke was "here's where I live if you find me drunk". I had MANY people say they were gonna try that for one reason or another. If everyone in the cabin wore a tag, the person who needs the tag wouldn't think twice about wearing one. This person would be able to ask just about anyone to guide me home. I didn't need the assistance, but most people knew why the tag was there.
  18. Original post made me smile. I don't have a fun times from my last Mardi Gras sailing. I DO have a Carnival Capers from my last Mardi Gras sailing.
  19. You DO NOT need your S & S card for muster drill. You DO NEED either the S & S card OR your boarding pass. Your boarding pass will do most of the stuff your S & S card will do, EXCEPT get into your cabin.
  20. I have hundreds of photos from the Midnight buffet beginning with the Mardi Gras in 1986. In years past I would pull them out and re-create a fruit/veggie sculpture for family or other special events. My watermelon pirate ship was a favorite.
  21. All this fuss about water dispensers and Norovirus, and we have convinced no one to change their mind. Every cruise ship I've ever sailed has had a water dispenser in the cabin. Same water you shower, brush teeth and chase your medicine with. The only other person using that dispenser is the one I have been sharing water with for 40+ cruises. Never made either of us sick. Drink up. Enjoy your special time.
  22. It's with pleasure I revive this thread we thought was long expired. Mr. Heald told a friend of mine the Chefs are working on a new recipe for our biscuits and gravy. He didn't have a timeline, but assured my friend they were coming back. I love trying new foods in the MDR but would rather have my comfort food for breakfast.
