  1. On the Mardi Gras and Jubilee we would sit down in the MDR and set the (wrapped) butter pats on our plate hoping they softened before the bread arrived. Our little game which became a small part of the Great Adventure called cruising.
  2. If this guy is teaching his flock how to win the slots, do I even have a chance?
  3. I've been getting those offers, thought it was a new Cruise Director or something. So....... He's just a u-tube guy?
  4. The package is pricey and tips are included, but a small generic gift card (cash) will insure your well never runs dry.
  5. I don't drink that much, the drink package is not for me. If the drink package is for you, go for it. The Trolls will burn you at the stake, but lots of cruisers feel the same way you do. Whatever "FLOATS YOUR BOAT".
  6. I think EVERYONE should try YTD. That way, I won't have any trouble getting my early fixed time in the MDR. When the day comes I must check in on my phone, I'll either be eating on the Lido or staying home. I am a digital dinosaur and still trying to figure out this eye phone since they took away my flip phone a while back. Everyone have a great cruise.
  7. Any soup (cold or hot) on the menu. A cheese plate as an app, one for desert and one for the balcony. Life is Good
  8. IF you ask before they run out. IF the room dude is in a good mood.
  9. I tried the candy straws a couple of times. Not gonna do that again. Plastic straws are really cheap at D-Gen or Wally world.
  10. Ditto the Above: Once you set the check in time for each BOOKING Number, sit back and relax for a few minutes. Over the next day or two, work the personal stuff with each person, either by phone or face to face. I've done it many times.
  11. By the time you board the ship I will have parked my carry on in the cabin, gone through muster with just the four of us, eaten lunch, staked out a pier side window seat on the Lido and downed the first 3 or 4 Fun Ship Specials. My vacation starts around 11 AM (Galveston) when I step on the ship. Board whenever you want, we'll do the same.
  12. Now you know the rules, you can decide whether or not you want to play the game. If you don't like the rules and still want to play the game, the only one to blame is looking at you in the mirror.
  13. I have heard people trying to switch cabins since our 2nd Mardi Gras cruise. Even then the Pursers office had the "SHIP FULL" sign out.
  14. DOU everywhere, Free cabins booked: 2 deluxe Ocean view, 1 interior, 2 aft balconies, 1 ocean suite. Not much free play. $1200-$1500 per cruise, 2-3 hrs. per day average (7 days), Slots, bet middle $ range, (not .80- not $5). I earn 4000-13000 points per cruise. Now you know. Good luck
  15. They don't ACT like they're burning them. The wait staff actually keeps coming back for more, about every 10-15 minutes. (I don't drink that fast). The Wal-Mart in Galveston took a couple and didn't blink. I do understand some people will disparage the idea because it wasn't theirs.
  16. I bring along a stack of $2 bills, never without a drink. I'm not sure if it's the amount or novelty of the bill.
  17. This subject has been clear as mud since the restart.
  18. Be careful about what you gripe about. We had this type of thread a few months ago about biscuits and gravy, haven't seen it on the Lido since. I think we touched a nerve with someone in Florida.
  19. I would rather BE a good liver than HAVE one
  20. YES, have an adult occupant go to Guest Services and as for a ROOM KEY ONLY, (no financial privileges).
  21. My favorite will always be Gary Hunter (M.S. Jubilee). He WAS the "fun squad".
