  1. Or 4, they got tired of the discussion because they weren't getting enough sympathy and went their own way.
  2. That's how it works for things that have varying charges, they don't want to be on the hook if your CC doesn't have enough credit. As others have said it's standard in the hospitality industry and usually gas stations (mine authorizes $200 even though I spend $30). This is one reason people don't recommend using a debit card... NCL didn't actually charge you those funds so you really have zero reason to be upset or bothered.
  3. I agree the YC inside rooms can be an amazing deal. I've only sailed in the YC balcony rooms, but I do have an inside booked this fall. The pluses of the YC to me are that the menus actually change and you get the "magic" elevator key that gives you elevator priority (might not be on all ships).
  4. I've sailed in an inside and depending on the ship my enjoyment varies. On the Dawn, I wasn't happy with an inside, I think a lot of it is because it was cold so you couldn't really enjoy the outdoor spaces, made it hard to enjoy being outside the room. Best inside room has been on Royal, I enjoy having the couch so there's some room for "me" time while the wife gets ready. My preference is still a balcony or better, but it comes down to cost, I still like to cruise 2-3 times per year, so I'll suck it up and do an inside if the price is right.
  5. Well you take that magnet and stick it to the lock on your stolen luggage!
  6. I can live off of pepperoni so I'm set. I know Royal usually has a good selection and the one Princess Cruise I took had a rotating selection, I do recall even seeing anchovies on pizza at one time.
  7. You never know what people will do, but apparently some think that anything in the hallway is fair game. They might have been drunk and playing a prank by putting it on another door, or truly were stealing it, either way it's not right. I saw someone that kept their charger outside on a hallway outlet during our last cruise, one day it wasn't there so I don't know if they were using it, or it got swiped...or if housekeeping took it because they had no idea who it belonged to.
  8. I followed this advice on my last cruise and was pretty happy that I was able to check in and walk right on at 11:30. They had just gotten to boarding group 3 when I arrived and it took me less than 10 minutes before I boarded (I'm Sapphire so didn't need to wait for a boarding number).
  9. It's interesting how subjective food tastes are. We did MSC a few years ago and found the MDR food horrible, but the buffet was ok. Pizza of course was great. We've since done the YC and are again this fall, the food there was spectacular.
  10. That way if your luggage gets stolen they can send you a thank you card?
  11. What kind of compassion? They aren’t responsible for the port facility at all. You stated you have insurance so deal with it that way. Not sure why a warm hug or apology for something out of their control would be helpful.
  12. It’s obvious. They have to bake and frost a full sheet cake and then cut it in half. That’s twice the work.
  13. Just for fun I looked up the new models. Since you can't buy incandescent bulbs anymore they do use a heating element so you wouldn't be able to bring that model on. Assuming security even knew what it was.
  14. You will be very happy in the Yacht Club. The food is much better and it has a rotating menu unlike the Haven.
  15. Maybe do a little pop up stand out in the hallway, sell some cookies and lobster tails before security swoops in.
  16. Do you know this from personal experience? Also my response was totally tongue in cheek...little humor is good around here.
  17. I remember Easy Bakes just using a light bulb....lights are allowed.
  18. You won't have a Haven bar, or a dedicated restaurant. You will have either Moderno's or Cagney's available for breakfast and lunch. The menu is similar to what you'd see in the full Haven.
  19. It's not on the prohibited list....yet.
  20. Only if they're allowed to tack on 20 percent for your convenience.
  21. If it's that inexpensive see if it's available the next morning and spend the night in Athens.
  22. I never said it was right, I was just pointing out that people don't have a leg to stand on when they threaten to sue or complain to the FTC, AG, etc. The only recourse is to vote with your wallet and use other cruise lines that hopefully won't do the same thing.
