Oooh, sorry, couldn’t handle that 🤢.  I don’t “have” to drink diet, I’m just used to it so would just go with their regular tonic.  🤔Seems like several years ago I saw diet tonic in cans at a bar.  Not sure if it was Princess, tho.

Same here I’ve ordered before on a cruise but can’t remember which one.

I’ve seen in sporadically but you have to ask.  I usually take my own just to be sure.  If I don’t have any I order a gin and sonic (1/2 tonic and 1/2 soda).  You still get the fizz and the sweetness.  Saves half the calories.

Never heard that term before Gin Sonic …bartenders know what this means ? That a great way as well to reduce the sugar content.

    Thanks

Remember, even if you're vaccinated, you can still get covid, even be asymptomatic AND pass it on to others.  Please be cautious and thoughtful of OTHERS even if you are vaccinated.  Vac. simply means you may not get as sick, die, etc.  Maybe.  Please think of everyone before thinking you can relax.

I think by now we all now that maybe that she be erected to the non vac as well to be in all fairness.

    thanks

Good question!  Hope someone has the answer  (I like my G&T with diet tonic😉)

Same here as lots of people don’t realize but tonic water has lots of sugar.

When they don’t have I have to take my Gin with sparkling water instead.

  5. All lines now sail with capacity ranging from 25% to 70%. So far from what I’ve been reading and hearing only Carnival have had a few sailing at 70% and Celebrity at 25%.

The Mardi Gras was at 70% at first but since then lots of people have cancelled because of a bit of lack in security mesures towards COVID. Examples : Still able to serve yourself at buffet area and game playing between passengers that are unmasked.

Celebrity Summit :  Is doing 3/4 and 5 nights cruise and maybe that why it has not been able to attract as many passenger especially with the testing prior making it less interesting for quick getaways.

All in all hope more people get vaccinated so we can all globally come back to a normal life as this is getting to lots of people and it’s so sad to see.

    Thanks

I was told by my PCC that a PCR test would be provided so I can return back to Canada.   I was going to book my flight back on my own, but now I’m thinking I will get HAL to do it so that if I get held up because they messed up, they will have to fix it.

I hate it when I write them an email with questions and they call to give the answers.   I just don’t answer the phone when I see its from Seattle.   At least in writing, they can’t say “I misunderstood” or some BS explanation.

Both Roll Calls for my B2B cruises starting on 5 Dec are very quiet.  Very few people on it.   I think maybe 10 at the most.  (That’s counting Canadians AND other nationalities).   Starting to think the ship is gonna be very empty.

They will need to test you especially your doing a B2B cruise on the same line. Hope it all works out for you if not join us on our Dec 22nd cruise  🚢

Does anyone have more information on this.  We leave in 3 days and planned on brining my 12 pack of Diet Pepsi,,,, I hate diet coke.  And my husband purchased two nice bottles of wine to take.  I know that in August I had reviewed the policy and it did not say anything about this.  Very frustrating.  This is our first Holland America and already I am sorry we have chosen them.  Been very frustrating on the lack of info on port changes.  Every cruise line we have every been on allows small amounts of pop and 1 bottle of wine each.

How are they charging you for this $20 per bottle cork fee.  At the port they are going to stop everything while going thru the xray machine and charge you??

Yikes if your already frustrated this might not be the time for you to travel.

Sorry and don’t want to be rude but first you should be happy for being able to travel at this moment as more than you think can’t.

Second  if you are traveling now and think everything will be perfect then maybe you should postponed your vacation because from what I’ve been reading it’s very different now.

‘Examples Testing, social distancing, masks, last minute port changes, delays and much more.

If you aren’t able to adapt yourself rapidly right now this is not the time for traveling.

If you really want that wine then bring it and pay that $20 extra because if that’s  going to ruin your cruise then don’t let it get to you.

Cruising will be different for some time so let’s make the best out of it until normalcy come back.

    Have a nice trip

  8. Wow !! So far you guys have given me great things to think about and all your comments are welcomed. FYI this post seem to get more attention on the HAL side than the Princess ….Could this be because HAL cruisers are more passionate when taking about ships 🚢

    Thanks

  9. Hello all,

I know both ship are brand new but what are your thoughts if I have to select one.
To be honest we are booked on the Rotterdam but a new pricing on the Enchanted just arrived and made

us think of potentially changing before our final payment on the Rotterdam.

Rotterdam is 11 nights sailing through Xmas and New Years as Enchanted is 10 nights

    only going through Xmas.

Itineraries are not as important for us at this point because they have been modifying them

On different ships since the beginning of the cruise return.
Price wise of course Enchanted is a bit cheaper as it is sailing only though one holiday.

We have done both the Pinnacle and the Royal class in the pre/COVID world  but with the slight changes to both

these new ships what’s the thing that would make you choose one ship from the other ?

To make it fair will post this on the Holland chat as well.

    Thanks all for your input
