Definitely it is not "beneath me" to remove plates of previous diners, however, I don't have sanitizer to clean the table, a towel to wipe the table or 2 extra hands to hold my plate of food while I do so. I also don't want to handle another passenger's dirty plates and cutlery and then eat without cleaning my hands, and then my food would be cold and or removed while I was doing it.
  2. Yes. I told them I wanted to upgrade WIFI and use my Captains Club discount. They figured the total on the discounted pre-cruise price.
  3. Depending on what info you are looking for it's often easiest to just go to cruisedeckplans.com public site and enter the ship. Lots of great info there as well as the ability to drag one deck onto another to see what's above/below.
  4. I never can use them, they are too weak for my mop. I'd spend my whole cruise drying my hair lol. Also I don't like having to constantly keep the switch depressed to get airflow...but that's another and entirely different thread.
  5. If you do it beforehand you can stack the pre-cruise discount with the Captains Club percentage off.
  6. There were none last time I sailed Eclipse. We always bring a multiport USB hub because even if there are USB ports available on the ship we're sailing there are never enough to charge 2 phones, 2 tablets, 2 kindles, smart watches etc. We also bring a European adapter and plug the USB hub into the European outlet and free up the limited US outlets for important stuff like hairdryers and hair curling/straightening devices.😜
  7. Call Captains Club 800-760-0654. I just did it yesterday and upgraded our WIFI. You have to ask to have your discount applied. I also had to ask that my OBC be used for payment. Easy, peasy.
  8. Our last cruise was on Equinox in late December of 2022. It was the first X cruise where we gave negative feedback in our post cruise survey about the food, and this was before the inception of the extra charge for a second serving of lobster or the room service $9.95+gratuity. The offerings in the OVC were noticeably cut back and many sections were closed. The carving stations at lunch offered cheaper proteins. The grilled steaks were absent. The afternoon tea (scones, tea sandwiches etc.) was never put out even though we looked for it and asked. The evening offerings for dinner were not nearly what has been offered in the past and much of the buffet area was closed and empty. We were disappointed. The ship on this sailing was only a bit more than 1/2 full and the service was excellent in almost all areas, however it was very noticeable that staff weren't being deployed to urge guests to use hand sanitizer when entering the dining rooms, specialty restaurants or theater like in pre-covid days.

  10. Don't bother deciding. We chose our March 2024 Silhouette cruise because we wanted to go to St. Vincent and not Dominica. We don't like Dominica. It was devasted by a hurricane several years ago and hasn't recovered. There is nothing in the town. We tried to spend money there feeling sorry for the people and trying to stimulate the economy but it was very hard to do. We just got a notification from Celebrity about an itinerary change and St. Vincent was being replaced with...you guessed it...Roseau, Dominica. The itinerary on the X website still shows St. Vincent. We will stay onboard the day the ship visits Roseau, Dominica.
  11. You would think that...at least we did. Ever since PUPs started back in 2020 DH has gotten his PUP emails to the address that he uses to sign into his X account. They have always gone to that email he uses for logging in. This last one was sent to an email address that's totally different and to our knowledge has never been used for anything relating to X. They must have just done something to their system (IT strikes again). I just yesterday upgraded my WIFI and got the verifying email confirming the order. We do this every cruise. I didn't upgrade DH's again, what we always do. But he also got a confirming email. That's never happened before. Puzzling, but in the end it really doesn't matter. It just makes you say, "hmmmm."
  12. Here's a new wrinkle to the "I didn't get the email" usual post. I got email as usual but DH didn't. A day later he got the email, but to a different email address. We have now idea how X got that address since to our knowledge we've used nowhere in relation to X. Very puzzling. Either way, thanks to the poster of the link because we completed the webinar before either of us received the email. It was a pleasant way to pass the time while waiting for our grandson to finish a school appointment.

  14. We stayed in 1605 right next door and had no noise issues at all. We'd definitely book it again. Loved the larger balcony.
  15. Each time I see a bunch of new posts to this thread I think "WOW a new PUP has arrived" only to come here and be disappointed. 😪
  16. We noticed a definite drop in both the amount and quality of the lunch offering in the OVC. There were areas where there had previously been food offerings that were now display areas of things like boxes of uncooked pasta, cracker boxes etc. that were not meant for consumption, but rather as space fillers. Also the salad choices were much more limited as were the options at the sandwich station. The daily carving stations were heavy on pork or poultry and similar less expensive proteins.

We were on Equinox last month and noticed a sharp drop in staff in front of the OVC entrances, MDR entrances, specialty restaurant entrances, and theater entrances reminding patrons to use hand sanitizer from what we'd seen on other X ships both before, during and after the Covid restrictions. We were wondering if this was a ship specific drop (we'd been on Equinox the year before and it was emphasized then) or a fleetwide drop.

  21. We were honestly very skeptical about the program until a friend tried it. We keep our cabin neat generally. We like our towels refreshed 2x. The cabin seemed just like it always was in all of our sailings previous to trying the Go Green. We'll definitely use it again and take the 5 extra points. The bathroom was cleaned and freshened up morning and nightly.
  22. We used to Go Green program on our Equinox cruise in December and honestly didn't notice the difference. Our cabin was kept clean, the towels were replaced 2x daily and the nightly turn-down was the same. We got the 5 extra points and will do this again. During the whole cruise we actually wondered whether they had gotten our request for the Go Green participation and only know that they did when our points were added after the cruise.
