  1. A ping, using a very non technical metaphor, is basically how long it takes someone to say "who's there?" when you say "knock knock" 40 is quite good for satellite internet. Jitter is kind of like static or lag or hiccups when you're watching a movie or just waiting for a website to respond. 15 is plenty good there.
  2. Just know what the taxi fare is before you leave (fixed rate). Bahamas taxi drivers are notorious for overcharging.
  3. Frontier is a fine airline. You just have to know what you're getting into.
  4. Last week a $50 OBC appeared in my cruise planner for a cruise this month.
  5. The people complaining are also the same people that rush to get the unlimited beverage and dining packages the same day they book their cruises.
  6. For every person using vouchers there's someone paying $80 per day for a drink package and only drinking $50-$60 per day's worth.
  7. People wouldn't complain nearly as much if their cruise fare was a few dollars per day more than they would if gratuities went up a few dollars per day
  8. The obvious solution is for a cruise line to pay better salaries.
  9. Like the one jacking up their daily gratuities to insane levels?
  10. I didn't know cruise ships had a CVS on board
  11. Semantics, but probably a different angle. They won't actively seek to reduce staffing per se (since room stewards come cheap). But just reduce the stress on having to hire them in the first place since they do get paid so little. When attrition happens they just won't seek to replace as many.
  12. Or just pay the gratuities and tips others as you deem fit. A lot simpler that way.
  13. Room stewards are bottom tier employees. Their workday won't be reduced. They'll just do other jobs instead. Or just get double the cabins to clean.
  14. Serious question, but who does this benefit? It's not like the room stewards are just going to go to the crew bar and put their feet up the rest of the day. They're going to be kept busy somewhere on the ship. Or does this mean they'll hire less stewards but give them more rooms to clean?
  15. Maybe they keep changing your GTY room assignment internally and that triggers the RoyalUp cancellation?
  16. Everyone should do this. Even stuff you don't typically ever need to take, like something for heartburn or upset stomach. Both of those can creep up on you fast on a cruise or anywhere you travel where your diet changes for a few days.
  17. They may be doing test loads for the next schedule release
  18. If you reload the page you'll see a heart and a bell/dollar sign type icon flash briefly next your name or the "sign in" link if not logged in. Both disappear so I assume they're still testing something Clicking on the heart would take you to a favorites page https://www.royalcaribbean.com/favorites Clicking on the bell/dollar icon takes you to a watchlist: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/watchlist
  19. I see the new search now. It looks like they are testing some features where you can track prices for cruises and get notifications on price changes, too.
  20. On my 4 cruises since the restart, the suite concierges were all very social and engaging.
  21. The minor consent form is for legal custody reasons. Over 18-20 yr olds just can't sail in a cabin w/o anyone under age 21.
