  1. I know you defend your fellow mariners, but common sense says no one realized what was about to happen or if they did, they made a lot of poor decisions in attempting to dock.
  2. Doesn't matter if it was the pilot or captain or anyone else. The fact is no one on the bridge realized they were way of course.
  3. This makes sense. It was more of a guarantee discount they opted against instead of an extra fee to pick a room
  4. They were 100 feet off course. Wind wouldn't cause that. Plus there was no evidence they even knew they were off course. They plowed right into it.
  5. That's it? They should offer the same thing those on Freedom are getting.
  6. I would imagine they're just going to patch her to get her safe enough to get to a more appropriate repair facility then do the actual repairs there. I wonder if they can go summon a funnel off one of their recently decommissioned ships.
  7. This is twice in two weeks. RC Corporate must not be too pleased right now
  8. It's as if they put it in "park assist" mode and the GPS was 100 feet off.
  9. NDA? Oh hell no. Better be upping that compensation before I sign anything like that.
  10. That'd be some pretty poor captaining at that point to back into those. Hitting from the side at least would be somewhat explainable (winds, current, etc)
  11. Right, if that's all they have to do, it's still not likely something that could be done by the onboard crew. I don't know if they have the ability to direct all exhaust to a single side of the funnel or not to be able to limp to a maintenance facility.
  12. That MAY not be nearly as significant of a repair as it may seem. Note there's no real damage visible besides that one side of the funnel. This could be as simple as a flue fire from improper cleaning of the stacks. Clean the stacks, replace the funnel, and you're good to go. Granted that still may be a month of work and I'm sure this cruise is now over for those passengers.
  13. I'd like to know what small private dock was hit since I don't recall there being any around the cruise dock
  14. Puking your guts out - no refund positive covid test but otherwise feel fine - refund
  15. Definitely not this. Just buy the zoom internet package and use wifi calling as described above.
  16. The app validation is just a bonus. You might be at check-in an extra minute or two without it. No need to worry.
  17. I'm sure you're not alone in buying packages when really it's not cost efficient to do so. I would imagine most people buying the drink package could have done it cheaper by buying a la carte.
  18. Always respond to the concierge email even if it's just to say hi and thanks for the email.
  19. Nah, car rental (from the airport, nothing downtown had availability) was $375 plus gas. Taking the bus for $215. It'll take longer, but it's simpler since it picks up at the cruise port.
  20. It's a long bus ride. But the peace of mind of not getting stuck in Canada for a week is worth it
  21. I changed my flight to depart out of Seattle instead of Vancouver to avoid the testing hassle
