but I really can't believe how many want to pretend there aren't nearly 600,000 people dead in the US

I can't believe how many don't realize we changed the definition of "death" 'for covid that's inconsistent with every other way to judge a death of every other disease.

When the lounges are crowded you're not missing out on anything by skipping them.  Hoping that RCI takes the opportunity to change the SL/CL so they are only available to suite guests.

I've rarely seen packed lounges, even the ones in the middle of the ship on deck 9.  If it is packed, it's not for long.

Plus the lounges aren't just for happy hour. It's a quiet place during the day. Coffee available for the early morning people. No need to fight for time with a NextCruise agent, there will be one there.

SAN FRANCISCO — On Etsy, eBay, Facebook and Twitter, little rectangular slips of paper started showing up for sale in late January. Printed on card stock, they measured 3-by-4 inches and featured crisp black lettering. Sellers listed them for $20 to $60 each, with a discount on bundles of three or more. Laminated ones cost extra.

All were forgeries or falsified copies of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention vaccination cards, which are given to people who have been inoculated against COVID-19 in the United States.

Online stores offering counterfeit or stolen vaccine cards have mushroomed in recent weeks, Khalifah said. The efforts are far from hidden, with Facebook pages named “vax-cards” and eBay listings with “blank vaccine cards” openly hawking the items.

“We found hundreds of online stores selling the cards. Potentially thousands were sold,” said Saoud Khalifah, the founder of FakeSpot, which offers tools to detect fake listings and reviews online.

The coronavirus has made opportunists out of many people, like those who hoarded bottles of hand sanitizer at the start of the pandemic or those who cheated recipients out of their stimulus checks. Now online scammers have latched onto the latest profit-making initiative: the little white cards that provide proof of shots.

Even some state and local public health department websites had blank copies of the card you could print.

The mask I wear (a 3M P100 dual filter with attached P100 exhale filter) does protect me.  The cosmetic virtue signaling fashion statements so in vogue by the screaming masses do nothing except make a (misleading) political announcement.

Even the CDC has said masks with exhale valves don't work against covid.

Ah you are right.  I forgot they require the test, but waive it with proof of vaccination.  So I guess there is one more step needed.  But I was able to get my set sail pass for my AOS cruise without uploading any proof.  So many questions still….

I was kind of surprised there wasn't a spot to upload a scan of your card. That'll be a pain to do upon checkin.

If that is correct I think people with J&J vaccine should not be considered vaccinated!  Just so I understand - 65% effective at what exactly?

It was 72% effective in USA trials, which is nearly twice as effective as a typical seasonal flu shot. But it was also 85% effective in trials in preventing severe disease that leads to hospitalizations

OP — at least for the AOS cruises out of the Bahamas, RCI doesn’t need to verify vaccine cards — the Bahamian government is requiring it as part of their health visa.  Not sure what if any, verification they will do, but it’s a much bigger risk to submit false documents in a customs and border situation with a government, than submitting same to a company.  No idea if people will be reckless enough to do it, but if they are, and get caught..... won’t be fun I’m sure

RC was requiring vaccines on Adventure prior to Bahamas accepting them with the health visa.

This was filmed today, did I or did I not hear him right.............Did he say he still has not received the vaccine shot yet?

It was filmed over the last month. One of the clips had a computer screensaver showing May 11.

Then at the end they said they went to Canaveral to get vaccines, then later noted they were now all vaccinated.

There would be absolutely NOTHING funny about someone carrying COVID onboard and destroying the vacations of a thousand other people. And some only have the J&J vaccine which is only 65% effective. There would be nothing funny about someone carrying COVID onboard, infecting the crew, infecting the kids, infecting other adult passengers,,, resulting in the ship flying the black/yellow checkered flag and being banned from entering port.

This person would have to lick a lot of door handles to accomplish this fantasy scenario

  10. There were claims early on that secondhand smoke could spread covid more than just exhaled air.

But I'm not aware of any studies that actually looked at it to see if it's true.

Then again there were claims that swimming in the ocean would make you more likely to get covid, too
