  1. The impact of customer service on the share price is exactky nil, in the sense that individual shareholders have so few shares, that they cannot influence the share price. The major institutional investors who are the ones who matter, will only care if negative opinions feed through to the profitability of the operation.
  2. In the UK, regardless of your customer status, you wouid have needed to give a detailed, written explanation as to how you came to have that amount of cash, and supply full details of the person who gave the money to you.
  3. No, I do all of that through internet banking. And what is that thing you call "cash"!
  4. Personally, I'm not convinced that a cruise is the best way to see Australia.
  5. The problem with all review sites is that they tend only to attract those with something negative to report. Those who have a positive opinion normally do not post. So, whilst the negative reviews are no doubt valid, they are very much in the minority. After all, 1000 reviews is a fraction of the number of people who cruised with P&O in the last year.
  6. Sounds like a great trip. I've been following a live worldie blog from Island Princess. The passengers on board had exactly one day in Sydney! I mean - what is the point of sailing around the world, paying thousands of pounds/dollars and then having just 8 hours ashore in a great city ?
  7. Exactly - I haven't needed to talk to anyone in my bank for 10 years ! In the UK, alarm bells would start ringing if you suddenly deposited that amount of cash !
  8. I think the problem is that given the number of entry airports into the US, plus factors such as number of international arrivals at any one time, number of Border Control staff etc, our individual experiences do not really help . All I know is that it always took longer to clear immigration in the US than the UK. Especially frustrating when I had to fly to New York for a three hour meeting, and I had to queue at Border Control for almost longer than the length of my meeting !
  9. How many staff at embarkation ports have QR scanners ? Just a clue - less than one!
  10. Crikey, you still have bank tellers ? What do they do ?
  11. Once and for all, No, this does not happen ! How does this fallacy continue to gain credence ?
  12. Are you looking in the right plaice ?
  13. We've decided to do the same as when on cruises back to the UK from the Caribbean. So, get up at normal time, and then put the clocks forward at noon. Just means my afternoon nap time is a bit later than normal - or is it earlier ? I'm a bit confused !
  14. Your question is not clear. Are you wanting to fly to Australia, and then sail back to the UK?
  15. Mrs W's birthday today, and as it was her Greatest Day, this seemed an appropriate wine to drink. I obviously had to have a glass first, to make sure the wine met my wife's exacting standards!
  16. How about ignoring the +1 and putting +44 ?. Or alternatively drop the + from 44.
  17. Special relationship in 7 days ! If you say so.
  18. I suppose the magnet could be used to hang the socks up on the cabin wall. Then, every time the crew member wakes up, they will be the first things he sees, and his heart will burst with gratitude.
  19. Better, but more expensive. So, if you want to replicate the quality today, all you need do is spend the same amount in real terms as you did 10 years ago.
  20. In Cartagena, go down some of the side streets, leading away rom the main drag. And, as everywhere else in the world, never eat anywhere that has a laminated menu with pictures of the dishes !
  21. I see your £700 and raise it to £880 ! Plus £160 shareholder obc on top - champagne every night, as we have to spend it one way or another, and we certainly won't be doing P&O excursions.
  22. Hoorah ! Which generates profit for P&O.
  23. Thanks Zap - with customers like that, no wonder the share price is down ! (Joke by the way, before people start complaining !)
  24. Like others, I used to travel to the US on business, and anything less than two hours to get through Border Control was a result. Recently we have used Tampa, and with fewer international flights, it has not been too bad. You just have to be prepared for the worst. That's why the P&O system in Barbados is so appealing - off the aircraft and straight onto the coach to the ship.
  25. At my age, there is no way I'm reading that!
