  1. Currently on Koningsdam. We asked to upgrade on day one. Bartender asked what we like to drink. Mostly wine, grey goose and a few nice cocktails. He said really not worth it to upgrade. Only a couple of wines not in the regular package. Limit is still 15 drinks total on the elite package. We can just pay the extra couple of dollars if we get something above the package limit. We are on for 24 days so the upgrade would have been close to $500. We did buy a water package and are drinking a lot more ice/tap water than we normally do but it tastes great and is always cold. And, we have found most of the bars don’t have most of the wines showing on the menu. But we have been enjoying Decoy chardonnay and Cabernet which hasn’t been on any list. Also the bartender told us they no longer sell beverage cards.
  2. Watch for the fire seaweed. If in season you can’t swim. We were not at all pleased.
  3. I agree with this thinking - and of course, this will then only lead to an increase in the dirty dishes left out in the hallways..... Maybe the next charge will be $1.00 for a dirty dinner plate, 50 cents for a glass, 10 cents for each piece of silverware ....
  4. Please don't be discouraged. We were on Edge in November. Same thing on line pre cruise, no reservations before 8:30 or 9:00 every night in all four dining rooms. On board, we walked up between 6:30 and 7:00 at any one of the four and had no problems. Actually, on the second night a very nice hostess booked us for the remaining 8 nights in a different dining room each night at 7:00 p.m. table for two, window requested.
  5. Wonder if that’s per order or per person . We often travel as a group of six. Would make more sense if we combined our order … but kind of tough for the server to bring four club sandwiches, three Caesar salads, two burgers etc etc for 9,95 vs for example one club sandwich for 9,95. I’m not against the service charge per se but would like to see realistic implemention rules .
  6. Dec. 29 update. Not sure how Celebrity does its math but I called this morning. 9 night cruise. We are Elite + so she confirmed the 15% discount. Added 20% gratuity. Total for the 9 nights is $297.00 for two/$148.50 pp or $16.50 pp per day. I said I had seen rates quoted of as low as $14 pp pd, she said it may have been an on-line sale which she didn't have access to. FWIW, this means they are not simply applying the $20 pp pd "upgrade fee" as that would come to $20 * .85 = 17 plus 20% = $20.40 pp pd. She said it depended on what the rates were when I booked...?
  7. I’ve read through this but losing track. Any experience this week with upgrades. I’m E+ so I think that’s 10 or 15%.
  8. Attention all ! We booked based on the brochure that was appended here. Our itinerary as posted today on Celebrity’s website is different ! I’ve got a message into my TA for the morning.
  9. We booked two SV on the Ascent TA in 2024. I was a bit surprised SV was $100 per cabin cheaper than the IV category E1. We wanted SV but pricing surprised me.
  10. I recently purchased two of these certificates on board the Edge. I told the agent one was for me one for my brother, and we were waiting to book a Transatlantic when itineraries were released (today). He assured me I could transfer one to my brother. Trying to book today and my TA says I can't transfer one to my brother. I should have insisted on board. Anyone have success doing this? I mean, not the end of the world, we'll have me and my brother on one, my DH and SIL on the other but a pain.
  11. I’m on this cruise as well. The test does not need to be witnessed and no receipt is required. The notice received is here. ——— NOTIFICATION Due to the itinerary of this voyage, guests ages 18 and above must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and, if eligible, have received a COVID-19 booster. Eligibility is determined by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines at https://*****/cdc_booster. Only one booster dose is needed to be considered fully boosted, and boosters may be received any time up to embarkation. Guests ages 5 and above must produce a negative viral COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen test) taken within three days before cruise embarkation. Self-tests are now accepted. All guests must attest to their COVID-19 vaccination status through Online Guest Check-In (https://*****/HAL_OLCI). Masks may be required to be worn at times during your voyage to protect the health and safety of all on board. Review health and safety information at https://*****/hal_twfaq
  12. Do all cabins have the Elemis bath and shower products, including shower gel ?
  13. Agree this is simpler. I really wish they were more robust in verifying date and time though.
  14. In the past I have been able to have a hold extended for a week by calling in.
  15. I'm sure most people have figured this out but I hadn't so here's my idea I'd thought I'd pass on to others who are wondering how best to do this. Lay my passport down. Lay my husbands phone down beside it with a date/time app showing current date/time. Lay my test result down beside all that. Take a photo. Reverse and repeat for my husband's photo.
  16. OK yes I saw the PDF, have picked a cruise, contacted my TA but she said they would only be in the system tomorrow....
  17. My TA said the new itineraries were not loaded into her system or available to book today. Are some of you able to book these new Europe offerings now? I also can't see them on the Celebrity website.
  18. Agree 100%. Even when we would go to Eden pre-dinner for a drink and music, the door to the smoking area would open and close. We found we would get a solid whiff of smoke smell every time it opened. We eventually stopped going for that reason.
  19. Seems odd as Jim Iain reported four nights of time changes on the 7 night Solstice Mex Riviera last week and this week.
  20. No creme brûlée on the Edge in November … until one night at Normandie, I heard someone beside me ask for it. Waiter said of course. When time for our dessert I asked and the answer was of course. Had it again a few nights later. Strange.
  21. I hear you... We are sailing in January with enhanced protocols from San Diego to Hawaii. Just downloaded Verifly today and our proof of vaccine. It was very simple, but I'm sure it will not be needed. We will do a self test a few days prior and upload that and/or/plus/maybe take a photo and hope that's all that's needed.
  22. Put me in the no thanks camp. I didn’t enjoy having to hop onto the bow of the small boat to get there, the sand was smooth but brownish, the water was freezing, stray dogs everywhere. Very good shrimp and guac though.
  23. Oh good to know. I was looking at five or six and they all went back to 15%.
  24. 35% is now gone. Some smaller savings remain … snoozing and losing 🫣
