  1. Another forum member ("trintrav") is currently on World Europa and has reported that starting this week, MSC now only charges the difference if a drink is above the package limit. At worst, MSC should have charged you only $1.xx for the $16 drink. As for the limit going up to $16, you are correct that you should have been covered by your current package. I would try this.... If you make friends with a Yacht Club guest, have them order the same $16 drink that you ordered since Yacht Club gets the Premium Extra with booking. If there is no upcharge or no refusal, the same should happen with you since you both have the same package.
  2. It's that inconsistency that causes so much confusion when people read reviews about MSC before sailing. I guess I've just been lucky as all of my MSC butlers have been great. This is a common complaint with the industry but hopefully, the situation will improve. I haven't personally cruised with an understaffed/overworked crew but many reviews across many lines point to the same issue.
  3. By going along with the system, the next generation of execs will probably receive the same benefit when it is their turn.
  4. Regular coffee is included for everyone but specialty coffee/Starbucks is not included in the PBP. There is an optional Starbucks package which can easily pay for itself if you crave Starbucks.
  5. I wonder how much of the DSC will go towards Frank's..... never mind. 😉
  6. Leaving Miami, you want the port side.
  7. That's why I put 99%. I have photos (not renderings) of the ship docked with port side facing the island. Like everyone else, I agree that starboard side is by far the best bet. It depends on the line and the island. With NCL, the drink package does work on their island (Great Stirrup Cay) but it doesn't work on Harvest Caye (co-owned/operated by NCL and the government of Belize).
  8. On rare occasions, it can be port side. Probably 99% of the time, it is starboard side.
  9. Damn, that's no good. I guess the wash equipment makes them block off the area. Thanks for the info.
  10. https://www.msccruisesusa.com/manage-booking/msc-voyagers-club (look for the check marks)
  11. You'll have to excuse that since when the ship first launched, those staterooms were not Yacht Club staterooms. They were Aurea. For that, there is no excuse. I almost booked one of those Duplex Suites and probably would have also been on deck 12 (12008). I didn't have any issues with the RS hot tub on deck 15. It was also a bit more covered than the Duplex hot tubs so maybe that helps.
  12. If you want a towel with a Yacht Club logo on it, you have to wait until you get home like every other former Yacht Club guest. 😁
  13. Many Haven questions are answered in the following (long but helpful) thread....
  14. The sofa bed will look like the picture above. If your stateroom sleeps 4, it will also have the pullman above the sofa bed but it will be tucked away in the ceiling if not needed. If your stateroom sleeps 3, the bed is probably near the closet and the sofa bed is near the balcony. There are some "bed near balcony" that sleep 3 but the majority of "sleeps 3" balcony staterooms have the bed near the closet. The main bed can be split no matter the configuration for your stateroom category. You should definitely reach out to the Accessibility people.....(LINK) Even though he doesn't require a wheelchair, he could still use some assistance. There are some people who abuse the system but legitimate assistance shouldn't be a problem. It's not like the old days when people would have one member of their party "qualify" for priority boarding and the rest of the party would zoom ahead just to get VIBE passes.
  15. This question comes up a lot. Just for reference, when entering the Haven lounge, the elevator for Escape is in front of you when walking towards the courtyard but for Joy, Bliss, and Encore, the elevator is towards the right side (near the bar).
  16. We stayed on deck 15 on Meraviglia and we didn't have any odor issues at all. It could be a plumbing issue. When Seaside had a sewage smell for the first few months of sailing, it turned out to be a plumbing issue that was later fixed. I hope that it gets sorted and doesn't ruin your cruise.
  17. You can sleep wherever you want. On paper, you are where you booked and everything that goes with it. Check-in, muster, promos, etc. are based on where you are booked.
  18. It's just a double sofa-bed for guests 3&4. When pulled out, the bed is a bit "short" so it's probably best for 2 people to sleep parallel to the sofa instead of perpendicular like on a normal sofa-bed.
  19. Yacht Club gets a drink package (Premium Extra Drink Package) and a Wi-Fi package (Premium Internet package/Browse - 2 devices Unlimited Internet Package) included. The promos change but even without selecting the promo, you will get the packages. Sometimes, the price changes depending on the promo you select so try with and without the promos or try different promos and select the better deal.
  20. IN WHICH VENUES WILL MY SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGE BE HONORED? Specialty Dining Packages are honored in the following restaurants: American Diner, Cagney’s Steakhouse, Food Republic, Italian, Le Bistro, Los Lobos, Moderno Churrascaria, Pincho Tapas Bar, Q Texas Smokehouse, Raw Bar, Seafood, Sushi and Teppanyaki. Guests may also dine in select entertainment-based restaurants using their SDP meal. An SDP meal in a la carte restaurants includes 1 appetizer, 1 soup or salad, 1 main course and 1 dessert (does not apply to cover charge restaurants or Food Republic, Pincho Tapas Bar and Sushi, where a meal includes any 4 menu items). SDP does not include beverages and additional and/or premium menu items will incur charges.
  21. 3 of the 4 Breakaway Plus ships have 2 hot tubs on the Haven sundeck. Escape only has 1 on the Haven sundeck and 2 in the courtyard.
  22. We'll just let autocorrect take the blame for the title....😁
  23. Just a word of caution. Not all interior Yacht Club staterooms are the same size. ^^ Here's what the MSC website shows for Yacht Club interior on Seaside/Seaview/Seashore/Seascape (it's actually a wheelchair accessible YC interior). ^^ Here's an actual Yacht Club interior on Seaside/Seaside EVO class.
