  1. Folding camp chairs, if left unattended for even a minute or two on deck, can blow away, or even overboard. Can we imagine the excitement if a camp chair blew in to one of your fellow passengers as they walked along the prom deck ? šŸ˜®
  2. I doubt the staff would want to get involved !
  3. You can reserve one of the meeting rooms for a few hours. On the Eurodam, and Nieuw Amsterdam they're near the shops. There's no charge for the room.
  4. Just a quick comment about the printed Daily paper.... recently I went through the set I had saved from an Alaska cruise two years ago. To my surprise, not one had the name of the ship ! Not even the 1st day's Welcome Aboard edition. So just curious.....is the name of the ship on your paper copies ?
  5. That's true. However the city has nothing to do with cruise passengers' experience. Call them and ask.
  6. The City of San Diego has nothing to do with customer experience. It's up to the Port of San Diego and the cruise lines. The cruise lines hire the companies that handle passengers. If you have an issue with the porters or security, talk to the Port.
  7. What do you like about them ? Thanks for any info.
  8. I agree 100%. On the other hand, a window table in the PG while cruising in Glacier Bay will offer a million dollar view if they decide to use it that day....if it's open. I still don't know if it is. šŸ™‚
  9. Eurodam. I'm considering giving a PG Lunch to friends who will be on a 7 day Alaska trip from Seattle, so I'm counting the sea days, and how many opportunities they'll have to use it.
  10. Is PG open for lunch while cruising in Glacier Bay ?
  11. Flying to US from Europe in early November 2024. Layover time in each is 2+ hours, and we'll be using Global Entry. Which airport would you choose ?
  12. Taxis are readily available. Also private car/driver service, such as Century Car service
  13. What does this mean....recreating in the river ?
  14. That pier can only be used for the smaller ships on triple ship days, when the B Street (main) terminal north and south berths are full.
  15. Not sure who "they" is but ask the Port of San Diego for a shade canopy. It's their property.
  16. Thank you ! I never would have guessed that was it.
  17. Is there a way to get a link to the live thread, or what the title is ? I have a friend onboard and I'd like to read it, but I've gone back 7 pages on the HAL forum and don't see it. I'm sure it's here...just can't find it. šŸ˜• TIA
  18. Thanks for sharing your experience on NCL. I'm curious about your thoughts on the design of the ship, inside and out, such as ample outdoor public space, and unobstructed sightlines to the ocean. Is there a wrap around walking or jogging deck ? For a Carib/warm weather cruise, is there enough outdoor space to accommodate lots of people comfortably ? How is the interior public space ? Is there a theme...glitzy, or soothing ? Colorful ? For example some large Princess ships have a hotel lobby type feel (also found in the wide passageways from lounge to lounge). Their interior decoration seems to have an Italian influence throughout. Sorry for all the questions. Just curious about what the ship looked like.
  19. And across the Atlantic too ? Fans sing it when the NFL has games in Germany and UK.
  20. Please see Heidi13's post #23 "Japan is also in the winter months and is further north than they usually want to travel, when making it around the World in 100 - 130 days."
  21. Perhaps it's because at that time of year, it's winter in the North Pacific.
  22. Like the couple who were visiting friends in Haifa on October 7.
  23. Beware the advertised/published low price...it's often for a room in the lowest category (example VH in the Verandah category) or it's a non-refundable deposit.
  24. Sometimes people who are late returning to the ship have legitimate reasons which are out of their control. The decision to pull the gangway is a serious one, and not meant to punish anyone.
