  1. We were on the Conquest for a B2B starting Jan. 3rd and then the 9th. We had really good meals at the Steakhouse which was good because the first week we celebrated 41 yrs of marriage and the 2nd week was my 60th birthday.

We had ice in our cabin twice a day after telling our room steward that we wanted it. It was always there.

As for weather you always take your chance on the weather. It just seems to not want to cooperate when you go on vacation. At least it didn't snow, at least that was what we told ourselves when we got off the ship and headed for Disney World.

As for excursions you do need to look at them to figure out exactly what they are and are not going to do. One excursion I took a few cruises ago made me really look at them after it happened. Nothing bad just not one that I was physically capable of doing at the time. Oh well I had to live and learn.

I know on our embarkation and disembarkation there was a long time lapse. It had nothing to do with Carnival but with immigration. They didn't have enough people to take care of the process. It took a long time to embark on the 3rd and a long time on the 9th for the people that were disembarking.

They call diamonds first then platinum's. After that FTTF and suite guests then usually wheelchair. They did this on the first cruise. However, because we were B2B we didn't embark really. They took us off the ship to the place where you got your picture for your sign and sail card and then took us back to the ship. I think it was because it had been such a long process.

I always bring with me any confirmations I have. I had ordered a couple of things and they were in our cabin. I did have the e-mail confirmations with me in case they weren't though.

I did get to meet a lot of very nice and hardworking crew members. I had a good time talking to them, and they were very helpful. I didn't really have any dealings with Guest Services though so can't comment on them.

I guess everyone's cruise is different, and everyone's experience is different as well.

We are booked on the Conquest again in Oct. It might be a really interesting cruise if hurricanes come through but we will have to see. I am looking forward to it.

  2. I can't have wheat, alcohol or seafood. Without those products there isn't a lot to eat. Again if you like seafood there is a lot of things to chose from. My husband doesn't eat any seafood as well and after trying some of the choices the first time had a harder time the end of the second week finding something to eat. Again if you like seafood you were blessed.

  3. Just got back from a B2B on the Conquest with the new menu. I was not impressed at all. It was really hard trying to find something to eat every night. I started to think about maybe having an app at the table (usually found something there) and then go up to the buffet for my actual meal. I really don't like buffets but the food really wasn't great. I don't care about the tablecloths it was the food that I had problems with. Even my husband who usually doesn't have a problem said the second week that he was finding it hard to find anything good to eat. He actually did go to the buffet one night to get some food.

If you eat seafood than you probably will find something but if you don't good luck. After having the pork chop 3 nights and without the onions and apples (I can't have any wheat and it seems they can't bake apples or cook onions without wheat) I had had enough.

I am going again on the Conquest in Oct. and will be looking at the buffet for what it has and then going to the dinner for apps and dinner at the buffet.

  4. I just got back from a B2B on the Conquest and had early dining. Not one table was empty except for maybe one night each. We were at a table for 4 for both cruises. One night on our first cruise, we went to the Steakhouse and the next night they went. Other than that our table was full. The second week only my husband and I went to the Steakhouse. I think people think that set dining is on the way out because a lot of those who like YTD seem set on it and think everyone should like it. Those of us who like set dining see that both are needed.

I have tried YTD and hated it. The only way I would go back to it is if I was forced to do it. At that point I would find another cruise line. I have told my two boys that if we go on another cruise together we would be doing fixed dining or they would have their own cabin and could do YTD and I would do fixed.

For me part of the thing about YTD is that it feels just like going out to a regular restaurant at home. The wait staff know nothing about me and don't know what I like and don't like. I like the fact that the wait staff get to know us and we get to know them. That they know what we do and don't like.

  5. I did ATD once. And once was enough. I hated it. I only did it because I was with my two sons and they wanted to do it. Now it is back to early dining and hopefully I don't have to do YTD again. I realize some people like it but my husband and I don't. We did try getting the same wait staff but the wait was always long and my two boys (men) didn't want to wait that long to get a table. I know my husband wouldn't either. Also we have met some really nice people at our table and gotten to really know them. That didn't happen with ATD.

So for those who like it, I'm glad Carnival has that option, but I am also glad that they have the set dining as well for those of us who want it.

  6. I have just gotten off the Conquest and the different teas were available on the Lido deck as well as in the dining room. I am a tea drinker so have several cups a day and enjoyed each and every one of them. There is hot water as well as all the other tea things needed on the Lido deck.

As well I enjoyed tea time at no extra expense. We had a great time and really enjoyed it.

Not sure why the PVP said that it was extra charges because it wasn't.

Now if you wanted a specialty tea like chai tea latte yes you get that at the coffee shop and you do have to pay for it. English breakfast, earl grey and other kinds were available free.

Maybe the PVP was thinking of the chai tea lattes and not the other regular teas.

  7. We have done a couple of B2B's and will do another one starting Jan. 3, 2016. It is 2 different itinerary's but for the first time we have to change cabins. They are right beside each other so shouldn't be too hard to do. We were hoping to get the same cabin but the one we really wanted was booked for the first week. We will move to it the 2nd week.

  8. We are cutting back on expenses. I don't plan on buying on the ship or anywhere else this trip. We will drink the free drinks (we don't drink alcohol) and have arranged private excursions on a couple of the Islands. We won't be buying the photos and for the first time I won't get any massages.

We started paying our cruise off last spring and summer. As well we have put cruise cash on our accounts to pay for the gratuities as well as the Steakhouse. We are only going because because this cruise is to celebrate our 41st anniversary as well as his 65th birthday and my 60th birthday.

We usually start looking for our next Jan. cruise about now but will now be holding off. This might be the last cruise in a long time.

  9. That's like saying they don't allow roller skates but they allow wheelchairs.

?? Not sure how that compares at all. That's like saying apples are just like watermelons. They both are fruit but that is all. Roller skates and wheelchairs have wheels but that is all.

  10. It's funny because I found the GF pizza on the Dream was really good and then on the Legend and the Conquest it was really horrible. The Dream had pizza dough that they made into the crust. On the Legend and the Conquest they used the horrible bread that they have and just put pizza sauce and toppings on it. It was soggy, not cooked very well and tasted horrible.

  11. We have done the steakhouse on each of our cruises. Except for the Conquest cruise last year they have been great. I love the lamb. I don't get it at home so really look forward to it on board ship. However, the last cruise on the Conquest the lamb was so tough I couldn't eat it. At first the Chef said that lamb is like that. I have never had lamb like that before. They did finally offer me something else so I had a steak. I like steak and it was good just not the cut I had wanted. The funny thing was it was offered in the MDR 2 nights later and I ordered it. It was fantastic. So they really did know how to cook it right.

We are going on a B2B starting the 3rd of Jan. We have reservations for the steakhouse for both weeks. We are celebrating our 41st anniversary the first week and his 65th birthday and my 60th (actually have my birthday while on that cruise) on the 2nd week. I am hoping that the lamb is really good this time as we will be on the Conquest again.

  12. We are doing a B2B in Jan. We have done a couple of B2B's but this is the first time that we will have to change rooms. We are actually just moving next door. What can we expect? Usually when we have a B2B we don't have any problems and are told that it is okay to go back to our cabin at any time. When will we have to move our things over to the next cabin? I have been told that we won't have to pack everything up but a lot of things us. I would have thought it would be easier to just change drawers but are unsure if the drawers actually come out.

    Has anyone done this?
