  1. I keep reading about being charged a tax for alcohol ordered prior to leaving port. So, let me get this clear.... in Port Canaveral, we have the drink package and if we board early and go to a bar to have a cocktail, we will be charged a tax , on top of our purchased drink package, because it is prior to departure from the port ? If so, is it all ports?
  2. Perfect...just what I was looking for. Thanks.
  3. Another new to NCL question. We will be carrying on two bottles of wine, one in each of our carry-on bags. We have the drink package so I understand that we will not be charged the corkage fee upon boarding. Must we declare the wine as we go through security, seeing as how the security folks are not NCL, do they send you somewhere else to to have it checked ? If so, wondering how time consuming the process can be.
  4. Thanks all. I have already booked our specialty restaurants and not particularly concerned about arrival time for the reasons you mentioned....but... I want to secure reservations for one of the shows which indicates as unavailable to book until check-in. Guess I should have made that clear in my original inquiry.
  5. New to NCL and need to know about check-in. What MUST you have entered before you are able to select an arrival time or book reservations for a show? I.e., do you need to enter passport info and such prior to getting to those two ? Thanks to everyone who has been so helpful on this board for introducing me to the way NCL handles things. It's going to be fun experiencing a new cruise line.
  6. Great information...just what I was looking for. Familiar with other cruise lines but this is first time of NCL and needed a bit of an introductory course.
  7. New to NCL... is your assigned muster station, and where it's located, on your boarding pass or your E Docs ?
  8. We plan on dropping off luggage before parking in the garage. How difficult was this to do and did you have trouble with the construction and getting back to the garage entrance? First time on NCL and using terminal 10.
  9. OK, one more.....๐Ÿ˜Š. Is there a way to know if the bed will be located next to the balcony or the bathroom ? Ours just has the triangle symbol which tells how many the cabin holds.
  10. CruzinMel, thanks for such a thorough description of everything I had asked. We are a couple of 80 and 81 years and I walk 4- 4.5 miles , six days a week and the hubby plays pickelball ,so the walking will not be a problem getting to the cabin and it does sound as if it is a pretty good haul. Only one more question, I promise. Is there not even a little overhang on the balcony? My understanding was that there is a bit over the first part as you come out the sliding door , perhaps enough for the two small chairs but from there on out you are reality TV stars for the upper decks. Again, appreciate you taking the time to respond in such a detailed manner.
  11. Can't wait to hear about your Club Balcony on deck 8 forward, particularly the noise being above the theater. This will be our first cruise on NCL and we have booked that exact location mainly for the extra bathroom space. We are probably older than you and do not think dragging luggage through the garage would be a good idea so I am hoping there is improvement in the traffic prior to our late February cruise. We usually cruise RCL and Disney, drop off luggage before parking in the garage without difficulty. Look forward to reading the rest of your review.
  12. Thanks for the reply and the photo...that will certainly help with our pre-planning. Looking forward to trying NCL.
  13. First time NCL cruise and wondering about times for Garden Cafe Buffet breakfast.....it shows "early risers", 5:30--6:30, deck 16 aft.... followed by breakfast 7:00-10:30 deck 16 aft. What is the difference in what is offered and does the buffet close from 6:30-7:00 ? -
  14. Were you still able to drop off your luggage somewhere prior to entering the garage? Does the terminal usually open around 9 a.m. ?
  15. If I don't have to plan the menu, shop for groceries and prepare the meal, it will be delightful no matter what. As for the balcony, I must have misunderstood but it is a minor inconvenience. Still looking forward to see what NCL has to offer and I'm sure we will find it most enjoyable. Thx for your input.
  16. Thanks,. We did book our specialty restaurants at the 125 day mark which was quite nice and were able to get times and dates that we wanted.
  17. Yes, the half covered balcony will take some getting used to but I will remember that we can be observed from above and dress accordingly. ๐Ÿ˜
  18. Thanks for the replies. We are of the active, over 80, age group and think the larger bathroom ( shower) in the Club Balcony Suite will fit our needs nicely and was the draw for booking the category. This one does have the larger balcony as well. My concern was for the noise from the theater but it seems that it will not be an issue and certainly not something that would keep us from enjoying our first experience with NCL....we usually cruise Disney and RCL so looking forward to trying something new. Thanks again.
  19. We are going to be first timers on NCL and have booked a Club Balcony Suite on Escape, deck 8. It is located, as best I can figure from the deck plan, above the Theater. Have any of you had this location and what has been your experience with the noise from the theater? t
  20. Thx. I have a dear friend who is having radiation for vocal cord cancer and I hate to ask too many questions so this is helpful. So glad to hear that you are coming along nicety and hope the results are positive after the next scan ๐Ÿ™.
