  1. It's certainly not the same as before. Overall I'd say it's worse. But that is a strong word. Overall I'd say Carnival is trending more towards a Red Roof Inn by the regional airport type of experience vs. where they were before.
  2. You can bring on wine at ports of call, but know that any alcohol brought on from ports of call will be taken and returned at the end of the cruise.
  3. Yeah starting around this past Summer, I am no longer able to convince them to waive the $50pp service fee for changes anymore.
  4. Now that we're on the topic of other desserts we like, I like the paid cheesecake from the coffee shop but haven't bought it in several cruises.
  5. I would expect that this will be rolled out to all the other venues in time. They're just starting with Chibang because it seems to be the most popular venue. I think they want to see if imposing an $8 surcharge for subsequent visits helps with wait times.
  6. All the souvenir cups I've seen are like the blowfish or funnel cup you see on Lido, I don't know about anything that is larger than a normal cup. Cheers does explicitly not include souvenir glasses so it's very likely my information is out of date anyway. The last time I bought one of those souvenir shot glasses in the MDR with Cheers was probably 2017. https://www.carnival.com/drink-packages/cheers-package/cheers-SUM
  7. They aren't going to charge you for a refill. They'll refill your cup if you want, but it will cost you one drink out of your Cheers allotment. When you buy the souvenir drink typically what they'll do is charge you for the cup ($5 maybe? Not sure) and deduct one Cheers drink for the initial fill.
  8. You're the first person to mention a phone. But even then, you can snap a photo of your BC and print it out at home. That's acceptable for Carnival.
  9. Carnival sells Cruise Cash I think mostly so people can send gifts to their family and friends going on a cruise. I don't know if they intended people to buy it for their own cruises, but it works for that and it works for some people to do things that way. Each to their own.
  10. Photocopies are absolutely accepted for Carnival cruises.
  11. Nowhere does Carnival's documentation say the photocopy needs to be certified.
  12. They have to quit adding to it before they can chip away at it.
  13. I imagine the first night or two, Chibang will be very crowded - but as the week goes on it will be easier to get a table as many people don't want to pay $8pp.
  14. Passports for cruises are only used for identification, so the 6 month thing doesn't really apply.
  15. It's all good - I've been looking at booking one of them - love the ABC islands, can't find one that works with my schedule and price point right now though.
  16. Five fast pennies vs. five slow nickels. Same thing with the FTTF price hikes.
  17. Chibang has apparently been the one that is harder to get a table at so if they're going to charge for one, Chibang would be the one. I like that the first dinner is included and $8 is a pittance for the food by all accounts. This makes $6 they charge for a PB&J seem even more ridiculous than it already is.
  18. Nobody does comedy like Carnival.
  19. Miami has some of the worst traffic in the USA right now. FLL isn't even close. Miami is the cruise capital of the world but FLL is much easier for a lot of people to deal with.
  20. Have not been on the Celebration, but was on it on Freedom for this itinerary in 2021 and the elegant nights, such as they are today, were 2nd and 6th. Would assume the same for Celebration.
  21. gift card balances are liabilities to corporations, like debt. So when you get your refund on a gift card it is actually a refund.
