  1. It never hurts to check in with the casino host and just introduce yourself. They can confirm your comps as well. Every time I've had DOU, I've noticed a $0.00 item in my folio that says something like "Drinks on Us Casino" as soon as I embarked. So check your hub app when you get on the ship to check it is another option.
  2. "If I had asked people what they wanted, I would have built a faster horse." - Henry Ford
  3. I don't know if they are popular or not.
  4. When I hear that I think to myself, "damn I really didn't need those weak beers on Serenity earlier today"
  5. Casino comps don't show in your booking details unless part of the offer is standard OBC. That will show in your booking on carnival.com.
  6. I don't know, I haven't actually counted. The set time dining room is quite small on excel class, but the anytime dining room is fairly large but not large enough for the better part of 6000 guests. Considering that a lot of cruisers these days eat in specialty dining (steakhouse) and on Lido, they might be able to do without the included Chibang etc if they really wanted to. But like you said it is a value-add for these new ships so I don't think they'll change it either.
  7. We do not need to get into another alcohol v. marijuana debate. Nor do we need to hear "marijuana just makes me sleepy" again. It's federally illegal to use or possess, and not allowed on Carnival ships. End of story. Whether or not it should be is up to the federal government and Carnival to decide. Surge protectors aren't allowed on Carnival ships and nobody debates that, it is what it is.
  8. You need to contact Carnival with these grievances, we here do not work for Carnival so we can't help you with the refund.
  9. I thought the only reason you were supposed to contact JH is to ask easily google-able questions or to beg for free sparkling wine?
  10. It's like an hour drive from POM to FLL. No sweat. I mean it is possible the first ship is delayed coming in, but that is fairly rare I'd say. But if all goes to plan no problem.
  11. Carnival hasn't committed to it forever I don't think. But it pretty much has to be forever because the regular dining rooms on the ship aren't near big enough for the number of guests the ship accommodates.
  12. It's very possible they'll use the drydock as an opportunity to change out shows in the main theater, but not a guarantee. The comedians, piano player, etc., will likely be different. It's unclear what else they'll be doing on this drydock, besides repairing the funnel and routine repairs/inspections.
  13. The steak and eggs is now striploin. It is a big downgrade from the filet they used to serve. I am not as down on the striploin as some on here, I've had good luck with it. But when it's bad, it's bad.
  14. I love the comedy on Carnival. So far, the other lines I've been on can't compare with Carnival's comedy program.
  15. I always use a lanyard. I don't carry a billfold on a cruise, and the shorts I usually wear don't have very deep pockets anyway so things are prone to falling out. Easy to find in the room on the way out, too. So I always carry my card on a lanyard.
  16. Room 8120 isn't really below Lido, it's below the Spa. I think you'll be fine noise-wise. Now if you were midship on Deck 8, or aft, I'd be a little more concerned.
  17. I have no way of knowing, I don't really pay attention to their financials.
  18. All inclusives are booming right now. Well it seems that pretty much the entire travel industry is.
  19. It is the same, at least as near as I can tell. The BBQ place serves a slightly different potato salad if I'm remembering correctly. The dressing has some mustard in it I believe. But otherwise it's very similar.
  20. It only takes an internet connection and about $10 to be a blogger, folks. Take this person's "top 10" list for exactly what it's worth...absolutely nothing.
  21. I hope this proves effective and ends the illegal drug activity.
  22. There's a mustard station on Lido, right by the mayonnaise station and the pickle station. In front of Guy's Burgers.
  23. Just go to the Adventures (shore excursion) desk as soon as you board to book it. It often sells out but in the past it wouldn't sell out immediately on the cruises I've been on.
  24. No, Cheers ends at last call on the night before debarkation. If the coffee shop is open at all on debarkation morning, it will be on a cash basis.
