  1. Nobody will ask for it. It would be like packing your library card just in case.
  2. You do not choose your embarkation time, you choose the time you arrive at the pier. Pick the time that you wish to arrive. In theory, if everybody picks their time and sticks to it then there should be no better or worse time to pick, because the crowds will be spread throughout the day. Generally speaking the time with the most crowds is early, 10AM-11AM or so. After that the crowds peter out and by 1:30 you typically breeze right through the process.
  3. yeah somebody else said they’ve received upgrades through their TA as well. That’s news to me, in the past I’ve only heard of upgrades being offered to people who booked directly with Carnival. It’s good to know they offer upgrades to TA bookings as well though!
  4. I mix the iced tea on Lido with a small amount of the lemonade. Just enough to give it a little sweetness. Definitely not Arnold Palmer strength. Carnivals lemonade is very strong. regarding alcohol, I usually just drink jack daniels and Diet Pepsi or miller lite. Easy peasy.
  5. I actually like them too, but thankfully I have a nice collection of them thanks to the very affordable cruise rates we’ve enjoyed over the past year or so.
  6. Adding people and moving people doesn’t exist. That is all cancelling and rebooking. After 24 hours that comes with penalties. So you need to get things settled before you book.
  7. If you just booked it today, call Carnival and see if you can just cancel it and re-book everything with the rooms set up how you want them to be.
  8. Wow and a bar there in the nonsmoking casino too. Nice!
  9. It is there, you may not see it, but it's right there under the stateroom information... https://www.carnival.com/booked/details
  10. The new gifts look nice. I hope they are well-made and last.
  11. You can cancel online. You go to your cruise manager, then booking details, then invoice details, and cancellation information should be there. You provide documentation to your insurance carrier, not Carnival. Carnival doesn't really care why you're cancelling.
  12. Good point. You can also do it on your phone/tablet if you wish from the comfort of your cabin. Although I do prefer to check-in on a computer with a keyboard and mouse so I'd probably do the cafe as well. There's no real rush to check-in early unless you want the earliest arrival appointment though. I've booked last minute before and thus checked in very late, and still got to choose my preferred arrival appointment.
  13. Wow, I believe yours is the first I've heard of a TA booking receiving an upgrade offer from Carnival. Gives me hope! 🙂
  14. Once your points post from your Celebration cruise, I'd go back and reprint your Radiance boarding pass and luggage tags and they should show Platinum.
  15. They love to send upgrades about a month out, get people out of balconies into the slower-selling suites (or interiors to balconies, etc) at an upgrade, then they can sell those balconies to last minute cruisers at a premium. You have two options when you get an upgrade: take it or leave it. You'll know if it's a good deal or not because by the time you decide it'll be gone. These upgrades seem to only be offered to folks who book directly with Carnival or a PVP, not people who use TAs.
  16. They just wire brushed "COSTA" off the side of the ship and added Effy jewelry. The cabins didn't really change.
  17. It is a very flavorful and tender fish if prepared well. I haven't had it on Carnival before so can't comment how good it is.
  18. Back to the good old days of just needing your boarding pass and identification documents!
  19. I personally think Spirit class will outlive the typical ~30 year lifespan as they are the last of a breed of ship that can fit in the old Panama canal locks, at height-restricted ports like Tampa, and unlike Fantasy class - has the balconies/suites/specialty dining necessary to stay relevant.
  20. As long as bacon isn't on "bacation" on Valentine's Day. 😆
  21. my rule of thumb is always, cash is king. that cash can be spent immediately, added to receipt they have to wait for payday to spend it.
  22. nope https://www.carnival.com/onboard/library
  23. oh yes all bets are off if you get casino offers, it's rare anything can beat them (besides better casino offers, lol)
  24. No. Chef's Table does have a bit more restrictive dress code, in fact I believe it requires closed-toe shoes due to the galley tour. And in my experience, Chef's Table attendees typically do dress more closely to traditional "cruise elegant" than any other dining venue onboard.
