  1. Great way to do it! I remember using wifi calling at Princess Cays. As I recall there were a few spots at the resort with free Wifi even though I was on a Carnival cruise.
  2. Carnival blocks wifi calling.
  3. I would say 7 just so you're surrounded by cabins on all sides. I typically prefer aft cabins. I find there's fewer folks walking past my cabin door.
  4. I would say the casino butters the bread, so they get what they want...
  5. Fair enough (I don't qualify for Elite cruises so no first hand experience) but I took the terminology I used directly from their website. https://www.carnival.com/casino/carnival-players-club/cruises/elite
  6. Not sure where you got this verbiage, but Carnival's Help page clearly states you must arrive during your arrival appointment. https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1374/~/faster-to-the-fun-(fttf) But as I mentioned this does not seem to be enforced at this time. Take that for what you will.
  7. The casino does its own thing when it comes to comps. Elite casino cruise guests get Platinum VIFP status no matter what VIFP status they've earned for example.
  8. Not really related. There are plenty of folks who get free/cheap cruises and have blue, red, or gold cards.
  9. The only way to get those rates these days is to get casino rates.
  10. If somebody blows $20K in Carnival's casinos, they can enjoy all the laundry they want as far as I'm concerned. No skin off my nose.
  11. It is absolutely gaslighting I agree with you there.
  12. We all have our own financial situations that are none of anyone else's business. Just because someone doesn't cruise that often doesn't mean they aren't loyal.
  13. Regulations prevent Carnival from offering an unmodified version of Cheers in Texas. So while it is not telling the whole truth, it is also not really a lie. But as has been mentioned it's all academic. What matters is brass tacks - no matter the true reason, you're not getting Cheers until day 2. So with that fact in mind do you still want to buy Cheers, or even buy the Carnival cruise? I'm sure to some people not getting Cheers on day 1 is a deal-breaker for the whole cruise.
  14. If you try to make something idiot proof the universe provides a better idiot.
  15. And there is nothing Carnival can do about that. They can tattoo it to people's eyelids so they see it when they're sleeping and people would still not read it. Anybody who has ever written documentation knows this to be gospel truth.
  16. Probably won't be loaded on the luggage tags until after you complete online check-in and print your actual boarding passes. But you don't need to worry, the priority label on the luggage tags makes absolutely no difference as to when your luggage will arrive.
  17. There are no stockholder discounts.
  18. All this information is in black and white on Carnival's website. If you don't read the FAQ pages what makes you think you'd read it during check-in? They can't force people to read the information.
  19. Your questions are exactly what good travel agents do so well. You would do well to spend an afternoon looking around for a good cruise travel agent who can advise you on things like this.
  20. Agreed - and with that information, do you wish to proceed with booking the cruise/buying Cheers/etc.
  21. We have no idea what your traveling party likes to do. We aren't psychics. Lots of info on this website under the ports of call section where you can see things to do at each stop. There's something for everybody at each of these stops for the most part no matter which itinerary you choose.
  22. and for the purposes of this website, a red herring that confuses the matter and makes these things seem more complicated than they are.
  23. You need to ask specific questions if you want specific advice otherwise you will get emotional answers. Most cruisers who have been to ABC would pick them over any other Caribbean destination, unless they had something very specific in mind for that cruise. Example, if I wanted to hike through a rainforest an ABC cruise would not be my first pick probably.
