  1. Nassau is not a prepackaged part of a complete breakfast island paradise, and never will be.
  2. You will need to contact Google Fi because it depends on the plan that you have. Most likely it will not work on the ship.
  3. Even before we were platinum we would always do self-assist disembarkation unless we had a late flight, in which case we would be among the last off. Maybe this is normal and I have just never dealt with it having never tried to debark during the thick of it.
  4. Sounds dreadful! I wonder why debarkation was so horrible that day?
  5. MDR menus are pretty much the same fleet-wide. The special menu items specific to home ports and ports of call were eliminated to save money.
  6. Moral of the story: be careful what you ask for.
  7. Cucina always has a surcharge. At lunch the venue becomes "the captain's pasta bar" and serves pasta, salad, and bread.
  8. The server on my Magic cruise was going to charge me $5 for a third entree. They didn't when I explained that one of them was so overcooked it was inedible so I was not paying for it. The Maitre'd apparently agreed because I wasn't charged but I never got to see or speak to the Maitre'd.
  9. you can google "carnival corkage" and it is literally the first result.
  10. Bottles you bring onboard will be charged a corkage if you want them to serve it to you in the restaurants.
  11. https://www.carnival.com/cruise-food/ji-ji-asian-kitchen-dinner no corkage for wine purchased onboard.
  12. You cannot reserve these in advance, only once the restaurant opens for that evening. Once you request a table and it's ready, you have 10 minutes to arrive at the restaurant or the table is forfeited.
  13. Sorry this happened to you. I do encourage you to escalate this to Carnival's guest relations, but I think the most you'll get is a discount on a future cruise. So it's up to you if it's worth the time to invest. While we shouldn't have to, it is a good lesson to always check behind the PVP or travel agent.
  14. There are some shaded loungers off to the side, but they're not near the pool if that matters to you. If you want an umbrella, you can rent umbrellas from the port I think they're $20 for the day but I am not certain.
  15. Some people just do not need to be given any power. Any amount of power will go straight to their heads.
  16. You are right sorry I misread the title of the post, it's about Sunrise not Sunshine. I've never sailed on Sunrise.
  17. Yeah the unexpected circumstances, like a ship going out of service suddenly or the long and drawn out COVID shutdown with cruises being booked and cancelled and booked and cancelled for years - that's when having a PVP or good TA is invaluable, because dealing with the standard Carnival customer service was horrific.
  18. I was last on Sunshine in September 2022, so over a year ago now. I love the ship. My main advice would be to stick to shoulder season. She can get very crowded during the summer and holiday seasons. So I would avoid a Thanksgiving cruise, personally.
  19. The drydock last month was purely to repair the propulsion issues. The drydock later this year is the ship's first scheduled maintenance drydock.
  20. On a few cruises since the restart the steward told me when he would be available to clean the room. We weren't really given a choice. I'm sure if I pressed I could have gotten him to relent but it wasn't a big deal to me, it really doesn't matter when they clean the room. You can adjust gratuities as you see fit - either by adjusting the rate at guest services, or by removing the automatic gratuities altogether and tipping in cash, but Carnival has continued to cut service and increase their suggested daily gratuity rate.
  21. Your pictures have me missing Carnival, I can't lie...maybe my Magic cruise was just an off week and the next one will be better...hmm...
  22. Trust me on Magic it looked as bad as it tasted...
  23. Operating systems today are good about using as much RAM as you can give them, but they'll happily live with far less. I'm sure your 12-image stack of files could be rendered with far less RAM. But there's not really a penalty to having too much RAM, aside from the initial purchase price obviously.
  24. The food looks worlds better than on my last cruise, on Carnival Magic. I'm drooling at these photos.
